There's something very unique about playing music on vinyl. It's just more involved. The whole process is almost sacred...lifting the dust cover from the deck, turning on the deck, turning on the mixer, the amp, setting the EQ's...laying the slice of wax on the turntable, pressing the start button, flicking the fader across (or up) and then dropping the needle on. Love it.
A friend of mine got killed in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan in 2007 (RIP Thrumble) This was OUR song. Whenever we used to hear this at raves and stuff we would proper have it. Proper banger. Some of the best years of my life!
Every once in a while I come back to listen to this gem! I‘m by no means a dnb-fan but this one is pure gold even for me!! Gets me every time! I wanted to thank you for all the little parties Me (and my neighbours) had with this! Thanks a lot my friend 🙏👽✨🤘🏻🤘🤘🏾🤘🏿
Back when I witnessed a dudes head stretch from the bass blurring my vision with the strobes in the place. 20 years ago. An experience I’ll never forget.
my neighbors complain even after i for example don't play music for a week in respect for my neighbors, but the one day i decide to turn it on they fuckin' start knocking almost immediately. i don't play it at night either, only midday and because of this i stopped caring altogether and just bang it whenever i want. fuck them.
it's 5:30 in the morning, i'm browsing TH-cam as I can't sleep, hearing this I never wanna sleep again....I just can't stop playing it!!! 2:26 for the drop.
Born too late and too far from London, I discovered Ed Rush and the glory of DnB only just last year. Wish I grew up to see music like this come out when it came out, and not just added to my Apple Music library lol
Got this way back when I started uni, it was played at every house party and defined the time perfectly...proper classic!!! Thumbs Up...I Like blah blah :)
@@Stevaside No mate, not at all. Been listen to dnb since '96 been mix in it since 2000. You name a tune and the chances are I've got it on vinyl. Never heard of techstep, clownstep yeah, dubstep unfortunately aswell.
@@andrewsmith1824 haha yet you've somehow never heard of the term techstep hahah GTFOH. You couldn't even shop for vinyl online in the early 2000's without seeing releases all over tagged as "techstep" for the subgenre....also nothing wrong with proper Dubstep
10 years later and this is still one of the best DNB tracks, black sun empire for me comes close, noisia still knocking around too sometimes... oh and Chubrub remix of this is awesome
morgan1985uk I used to get to every Bad Company event going, their style of mixing was so similar to Andy C's at the time both were great to see, their mixing wasn't always that tight but that wasn't a problem when your forced to listen to classics like Son of Nitrous.
This track is just so alive. Like it has actually life inside of it. So much DnB nowadays is just overly formulaic. Like, do some cool shit you know what I mean? lol I sound stupid as shit.
Yeah you kinda do. There's still enough great, creative and imaginative new dnb on the market. Don't get me wrong, mad respect for the classics, this is a masterpiece
Its true. Tunes back in the day had so much depth and story. You could put your headphones in and go on a journey. These days the formula has become so simple
Almost 40 yrs old and this never gets tiresome. There is still some dnb I appreciate but that era around the late nineties/early noughties was something else. Last accelerated culture at the sanctuar🤯🤯🤯
aaaah back when the Ram Trilogy sound was their own... now.. every single RAM artist rips off the signature sound the original three came up with back then... Andy C, Ant Miles and Shimon are the soul of RAM... never forget it!!!! XD
Drum and bass found a perfect formula for each genre and has been stuck ever since. Dillinja or ram stuff for hard and high contrast or bukem for soft. It’s not innovated since late 90s.
I will never ever forget this tune. I’m from Sweden and heard it on dnb arena when it was doing the rounds on dub plate and I thought ‘meh, i don’t really get the hype’. Then I went to fabric in London in the summer of 2002 and when that bass kicked in in the breakdown i thought ‘ok now I get it’ 😂😂
I don't know what I watched in the last few days but I keep getting these awesome recommended vids ever since. Great tune, there's nothing I could add to that comment made by Shane Munoz. Kind of a shame that I haven't heard this track before.
the golden years of drum n bass! 🔊
Now, we are living a resurection of dnb all over the globe. Beautiful music. The best...P.L.U.R.
You know it fella..
To me early to mid 2000's where the dark ages of DNB.
DnB at its peak! can´t get better ;)
So true!
Anyone here in 2024 just listening to some old school classics reminiscing how good DnB used to be? Best years 😢
2024 here. But i think dnb is getting back. Look at Coco Bryce sets and UKF radio ❤
Brings a tear to my eye. Only junglists understand that this music never leaves you. Ever.
F$$kin right on👍
Fact
@@secrecysmith5001actually it's techstep, not neuro, Pacman is a staple of techstep
@@secrecysmith5001 okay valid, we're both right
Techstep is the best

I'll always remember Andy C double dropping this with Scar at The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes ❤
That intro is so fucking sick it almost goes harder than the drop
This captured a era in one record
my neighbours love this song, there banging on the walls telling me to turn it up!! :D

I can't avoid go mental @ 2:26 with that bass and killin drums, goddamn this is pure drum & bass

Drum & Bass will never die... It's just the EDM kiddies are too young to fully appreciate good D&B.
