- On rumors about a possible leadership change in crisis-hit Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that it was not in his hands and his focus is on solving the problem in the state.
"Staying on as Chief Minister or resigning is not in my hands," Mr Singh told NDTV amid reports that a section of MLAs from his party and its allies are pushing for his removal.

As a citizen of the state the CM has done a slacky job in the past year or so. In the beginning of his administration I did not have much critical reservation about him as the Congress led government was disastrous in the preceding years. In fact I welcome his emergence as a leader who has the mantle and political will to take decisive actions. But many of the problems got worse and his response was of indecision and others being lukewarm. The problems in the state like Money for Job and corruption in the state are on steroids. Bribery especially for jobs used to be synonymous with Ibobi Singh but now Biren has made Ibobi a noob in this aspect.
