I absolutely love your propane stove, I use a vintage propane stove too, and love it, We also cook and heat our little home with our wood cookstove Your cake looks delicious, Happy Birthday Ron!
Hi Ms. Lori, so good to see you! Thank you for the comment on our stove, we absolutely love it! After cooking 365 on our wood cookstove for more years than I care to count, I tell Ron that using this propane stove is like "auto-pilot"...put whatever in, and I can totally forget about it with no worries...what technology,? Lol! I have seen your beautiful propane stove and, actually, was considering a Heartland or Elmira gas stove such as yours because they are just gorgeous! We looked at a couple and the only thing that slowed us down was our wood cookstove is the same basic design and it kept making us pause wondering if 2 of the same style might be too much in our little cabin. So when we found the one we got, we decided to go that route just to keep things a little different. Ron says thanks for the birthday wishes! Stay warm sweet lady! Liyah (Lea)
🥰 so glad to see you’re back! Can’t wait to hear about all the new house, updates and how you all have been! I would love to know now that you have a propane stove, I see a new sink in the background possible refrigerator… Just wondering if the house is now plumbed for all propane with the exception of the woodstove? Will you be doing a new house tour? So thankful you’re all doing well and that is an answer to prayers that your house sold! Blessings to you and your sweet family!💗
Hi thepioneerhomestead! No, our house is not plumbed in any way with propane nor with water. We have a 20lb tank outside for the propane stove which lasts about 6 to 8 weeks since we don't use it full time. The sink is just like the wood dry sink we used for so many years, just a wash area no plumbing, but I just really liked the style of the old sink, thought it went with our propane stove which was manufactured in the 1920's and the sink is stamped with a 1909 date. It was pulled out of an old school in Detroit and we found it on marketplace. The wood dry sink was one Ron built and was never really meant to be used for that purpose for as long as it was but it was needed so we did. The problem I found with it was as much as I am in dish water the top would get wet and you had to scrub it daily to keep it from getting a slime build up, not just wipe down but take a scrubby to it. The wood was getting warped from being wet so we knew we wanted to do something different just wasn't sure what till we found this. Refigerator? That is funny that you thought you might have saw one in the background, there is not one in that video however we did purchase a propane one this summer but because of lack of room in our home and because it is propane we have it outside under a plastic shelter. I was thinking about doing a video on some of the household pieces we have added. We are getting ready to build a small addition so will probably wait to do a home tour till we get that done. Thank you so much for watching! God's richest blessings!
