    cyberpsychosis is one of the most interesting concepts in the cyberpunk 2077 universe imo and I'm glad we got a show that touches on how it affects people and the ones around them.

    • @bitchface235
      @bitchface235 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TK-7193 no it is more like dissociative psychosis than dementia. well I guess a lil similar but dementia with turn your brain into mush. you can live as a cyberpsycho and not die from. being a psycho. you'll just kill indiscriminately whilst hallucinating that you are back in one of your memories. basically PTSD plus preexisting mental illness (even if you weren't meant to get them until later in life then can be brought on early and have symptoms exacerbated by stress and trauma) and lots of Implants. eventually they don't feel like themselves or they think they aren't themselves. or they just hallucinate everything around them and have no idea what's real.

    • @BaumgratzE
      @BaumgratzE ปีที่แล้ว +9

    • @cidasanctus3373
      @cidasanctus3373 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @@TK-7193 It's a disorder where people dissociate from the self and lose empathy for others. The way the show talks about it is quite a bit like taking a lot of hard drugs, like Eduardo said, and in a way it is. But you can go cyberpsycho having any sort of cyberware, even just a cyberhand. If we take as hard drugs, then it's kinda like taking meth and krokodil and possibly going wild the first time you take a hit.
      At the same time, cyberpsychosis seems to be an allegory for PTSD, or to be a new form of PTSD. You might notice cyberpsychos rarely tend to be from the upper echelons of society, usually the bottom. Most people end up over the edge as a result of trauma to the mind, whether a lot really fast or little by little over time. What do rich people have to deal with trauma that poor people don't? Access to mental health services. That's probably why Adam Smasher hasn't gone full cyberpsycho despite having an empathy score of "Yeah, right..." instead of 0 like any other super-kitted out person.
      There's also an argument to be made about it being an allegory about alienation by a society that gives absolutely no fucks about you and sees you as replaceable as a plastic straw, but I've rambled enough for today

    I remember watching the first 6 episodes back-to-back and feeling fuzzy inside by that feeling of found family with David and the crew. A city as cold as the stone it was built from finally offers the kid a break and a break I sometimes think would be interesting for myself. Why wouldn't I wanna do illegal stuff and earn 10x the bread I do now while making friends who'll have my back?
    Then the cyberpsycho hobo happend and I got socked in the face by a sledgehammer. I forgot: this is Night City. The bad isn't a prelude to the good- it's not a ladder that you climb up in there. Bad shit happens all the time, and it'll happen to you too. ESPECIALLY you. Now I'm at the final episode and shit has never looked this bleak.

In spite of the dark themes of hopeless struggle against one's inner demons and the uselessness of fighting against fate, it ends with a glimmer of hope. In 1910, the physician oligopoly was started during the Republican administration of William Taft after the American Medical Association lobbied the states to strengthen the regulation of medical licensure and allow their state AMA offices to oversee the closure or merger of nearly half of medical schools and also the reduction of class sizes. The states have been subsidizing the education of the number of doctors recommended by the AMA.
      In 1925, prescription drug monopolies begun after the federal government led by Republican President Calvin Coolidge started allowing the patenting of drugs. (Drug monopolies have also been promoted by government research and development subsidies targeted to favored pharmaceutical companies.)
      In 1945, buyer monopolization begun after the McCarran-Ferguson Act led by the Roosevelt Administration exempted the business of medical insurance from most federal regulation, including antitrust laws. (States have also more recently contributed to the monopolization by requiring health care plans to meet standards for coverage.)
      In 1946, institutional provider monopolization begun after favored hospitals received federal subsidies (matching grants and loans) provided under the Hospital Survey and Construction Act passed during the Truman Administration. (States have also been exempting non-profit hospitals from antitrust laws.)
      In 1951, employers started to become the dominant third-party insurance buyer during the Truman Administration after the Internal Revenue Service declared group premiums tax-deductible.
      In 1965, nationalization was started with a government buyer monopoly after the Johnson Administration led passage of Medicare and Medicaid which provided health insurance for the elderly and poor, respectively.
      In 1972, institutional provider monopolization was strengthened after the Nixon Administration started restricting the supply of hospitals by requiring federal certificate-of-need for the construction of medical facilities.
      In 1974, buyer monopolization was strengthened during the Nixon Administration after the Employee Retirement Income Security Act exempted employee health benefit plans offered by large employers (e.g., HMOs) from state regulations and lawsuits (e.g., brought by people denied coverage).
      In 1984, prescription drug monopolies were strengthened during the Reagan Administration after the Drug Price Competition and Patent Term Restoration Act permitted the extension of patents beyond 20 years. (The government has also allowed pharmaceuticals companies to bribe physicians to prescribe more expensive drugs.)
      In 2003, prescription drug monopolies were strengthened during the Bush Administration after the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act provided subsidies to the elderly for drugs.
      In 2014, nationalization will be strengthened after the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (“Obamacare”) provided mandates, subsidies and insurance exchanges, and the expansion of Medicaid.
      Basically, government and shady oligarchs are at fault. It is not the fault of the free market.

    I finished the game last night and goodness gracious is it good. The anime really drives home the feeling of “we’re fucked”. The story itself is already lifechanging. It makes today’s world feel like a tea party compared to life in Night City. In Night City, shootings are a daily occurrence, corruption is in the roots of the city, and everyone could potentially be a great friend or your greatest enemy. But the bugs have definitely been toned down. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still there, but slightly less so.

    One of the big reasons it all works is that it isn't merely based off of a video game franchise, but a tabletop rpg franchise that's been around for about 40 years. Mike Pondsmith went into so much detail about not just the world, but Night City alone that it's kind of staggering. Him and his team also seemed to understand where the world was maybe going, though they jumped the gun on the dates a little.

      Just the PPL AI - Enemys and Atmosfere during the battle or After it with no Quests aint the same at all - The battles themself dont feel simular - the game Lore deeper Lore is lacking - It has good Main Story - not much is know about the World itself - World Feels Empty - The CyberWare in CP Game does not feel or look so cool - Well it does have CUT content maybe they will add more in future..
      - The look of the Town and Arasaka Plot do feel simular.
      - Ohh and the Deaths of Close ones to you in game and anime.
      Issiue is - CP Game has realy short and lacking in story depth beggining
      It does not feel you get to chose who you are or who you whant to be in the game - The Story is interesting but lacks Quests that make change to the world and how PPL recive you and conseqences of your choice.
      Anime is a lot better than the Game - theres is no doubt in my mind - The feel of it - the twists in the story - the feel and knowledge of his decion making and conseqengec that will come.
      But lets look at Witcher - The Game is better than the Anime
      Game Has Interesting Quests and Side Quests that can be done in Many ways - and you feel that the decision you make affect the world around you and PPL - Instant or at later stage of play.
      You dont feel like Anime Looks better - or the story is better - or Skills Clothing or anything is in anime that could make the game look or feel better.
      Wither 3 has bigger Poll of PPL that you meet and develop feelings with..
      CP in that feels lacking to - does not feel like you did meet a lot of PPL - got to know there storys - get to decide if they good and worth helping out..
      CP looks amazing Graphicly and Has Great Main story - but after that - world feels empty - side quests dont feel that great ( some but most not ) - your skills and looks of cyberwere dont feel that amazing - especialy compared to Anime.
      and no freaking Wiafu in game but in Anime xD

      Before: Ah this looks like a fun action packed "turn your brain off" anime to watch after work
      After: How tf can fictional animated characters make me so emotional 😭😭😭😭😭
      I don't think I've ever felt this emotional and stirred up after fictional content like a game, movie, show whatever... it's an incredible feeling that they made this hir so hard but so sad... classic example of wishing I never watched this masterpiece...
      Amazing show, one of the best anime ever made, this is an experience not to be missed. This one really stuck with me all the time and the song is so bitter sweet and romantic man... CD and Trigger nailed this one perfectly.
      I loved all the characters in the gang but to be honest David was starting to act like an a$$hole to the end of the show and even though he's got everyone telling him to stop pushing the limits of his body or he'll go cyberpsycho he still does it anyway to fulfil his egotistical pride and deadpan mindset, and things turned out tragic.
      He's a likeable character but he really doesn't deserve Lucy honestly since she basically begged for him to stop to save his life and he not only doesn't understand but threatens to break up which hurts Lucy... What a a$$hole! He also doesn't deserve Rebecca too lol. I think this show does a great job showing the downfall of a person who strives to hard for power and abandons his humanity and what matters to him, and no one could stop him in place in ruining himself... it's quite a tragic story since the developers are really good at making feel attached to characters and then ripping them away painfully...😣🤨
      Anyways the show really did made you FEEL so many emotions by the end. Sadness, melancholy, emptiness etc etc... 😫

That game deserves more replayability and challenge. "Very Hard" mode is basically not hard at all, and the story of V is legendary but not exactly what a lot of players wanted. I honestly think people wanted to play their own story, and go any direction with it they wanted, siding with whoever they wanted, just basically a true open story for an open world.

    As a Witcher/CDPR fanboy, I knew prior to Cyberpunk’s release that if CDPR got anything right it would be creating an immersive and deep world to engage with. And to my horror, about 10 hours into my play through I realized the immersive and beautiful world they created hit a bit too close to home. It was the grim dark fantasy/sci-fi fictional setting that I usually lose my mind for, but my realization at how accurate it was to our world that we live in made me actually sad. It was the most potent media I’ve experienced that so thoroughly portrayed the experience of a human mind locked into a body that is being abused and exploited for sex, labor, money and dopamine. What is supposed to be a being created in God’s image, reduced to a technology hijacked meat bag. Cyberpunk’s setting is one that we are dangerously close to being in, and as beautiful as the game is, I have had a hard time picking it back up.

    Edgerunners was so good it made me cry and also simultaneously convinced me to never, ever have kids. Something about Night City feels so....possible? Like it could 100% be our reality within 20 or so years. I mean look how much things have changed since the pandemic. I loved every single character in this show but am I gonna contribute my DNA to them existing IRL? Fuck no, not unless things get significantly better in my lifetime. It takes a pretty amazing show to both be oodles of fun and make someone rethink their entire lineage.

    • @dream8870
      @dream8870 ปีที่แล้ว

      i really believe it is gonna be a reality or it could be, there’s a couple of paths i think humanity can take right now, a world like night city, we kill ourselves off with nuclear warfare, we create very advanced Ai’s within the next 100 years that’ll either help us advance even further or kill us off, rapid climate change could kill us. there’s so many things that could happen to our species both positive and negative. I dare say it looks grime in some instances, but i have hope we’ll bounce back even through our darkest hours.

      Dont have children. This way you can be a lonely, miserable, resentful middle aged adult ready to throw your life away for a corporation as soulless as you are. And when they finally come to take everything you have, you will have nothing to fight for. Why would you fight for yourself if you're lonely, miserable and resentful?
      This kind of thinking is exactly what the fictitious(or not) elites want. Its easy to control weak, unmotivated people and when people dont have a strong family core, they become weak and unmotivated.

      I dunno, man, this shit got me so fucked up BUT I’m still having kids hahaha. As a man, it’s up to us to ensure our children our strong enough to survive the world. It’s beautiful, despite how much I’ve suffered. People have suffered. My children deserve to have the same trials and tribulations. Because what’s in the end is so very worth it.
      I mean, shit, this show touched my heart and restored my souls urge for romance.

    This is the first video from your channel that I've seen, but you make it indirectly clear that you're not familiar with the Cyberpunk genre or even the video game the show is set in, I know you say you didn't play the game at the end but it was noticeable before that. The title feels misleading as well as there are many things that could be discussed but this is more of a review. To help with a better understanding of cyberpunk, I'd recommend Blade Runner, Blade runner 2049, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, and Altered Carbon. Your line at the beginning along the lines of "stolen by Japan" is actually very fitting for the Cyberpunk genre lol as Asian economy and immigration were huge fears during the time of the genre's conception and paint the background for Chinese-themed cities and Japanese mega corporations ruling over everyone.
