Have you guys done any euro stuff? I think a speed academy Porsche sounds like fun. They make power so main focus would be aero and handling I would think...only problem is not a lot of company's make aftermarket parts and the ones that do are steal your nuts expensive...most stuff would be hand made, I think it be worth it tho...
Unless you're talking about a Classic Porsche then you're talking in the hundred thousand dollar range to get a car that you could pay 15,000 if even for such as a 350z that is without upgrades even then adding a turbo forged internals stuff like that on a tuner car would be cheaper plus it's not really in high demand to do a Porsche build on a Japanese import channel no offense to Porsche or anyone that likes tuning the cars they are great but it seems more or less it wouldn't be the right fit

+Kyle Tipton we're not a speed shop, just a couple of dudes in a chicken coup building our own cars and helping a few buddies out. We have two BMWs (you'll see the E39 wagon getting a 2JZ swap this winter) and we also have a 930 Turbo, plus Dave's buying a Mustang in the spring for a full build series. We like anything with a motor and four wheels (or two or three).

If you buy booth space at the show you can put whatever you want in it, but unless you've got more money than brains you need to put an amazing and high quality build in your booth to attract any sort of attention at this show. Build a world-class hot rod and chances are vendors with booths will come knocking.

+Okaythen001 SEMA isn't really a car show, it's a trade conference for the automotive aftermarket industry, but if you have a business related to the aftermarket in some way you could certainly buy a spot inside ($$$$$) or out in one of the hallways ($$$$) or outside ($$$). But probably the best way for a privateer to get his/her car in the show is to find a manufacturer whose parts you run on your car and try to get them to use your car as their in-booth demo car. PASMAG also ran an online contest this year called Tuner Battleground and the top two vote getters from that got spots in the show, and the Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational cars were also on display so if you compete in their series and get and invite you're in the show that way too. So there are a number of ways to get in, but none are cheap or easy.

looks like they avoided the trucks, most of the muscle cars, none of the drifting, video looked more bias toward the imports but hey i still appreciate the video, i was there only friday and for sema ignite.

It's actually becoming quite popular there to modify cars in US style. www.speedhunters.com/2015/11/a-us-style-japanese-civic/ I think my point is that the term JDM has evolved to refer to a style as much as it does to Japanese made parts and whether its a BMW or Honda, the styling can be 'JDM' much like some Japanese cars are referred to as rat rods because of the way they are built.

+Speed Academy The front clip is more than just a "Skyline" it is a 1969-72 GTR front clip.. My bad on JDM wasn't aware of the company. When I was in Japan, people refered to them as Skyline pickups with the Sunny grills. I think Sunny and Skyline shared alot of under pinnings. Gomenasai
+Torpedomtb With our event coverage videos we try to be very simplistic with our explanations since there are a lot of viewers that won't even know what a Sunny pickup is let alone the proper name for the converted truck "Hakotora" so Skyline front end on a Datsun seems like a good description but you're right, the 09 Racing Conversion uses different fenders and a whole host of other parts to make it work on the pickup. It's truly a unique and insanely cool truck!

We have a couple BMWs and a Porsche 930 Turbo. There's tons of aftermarket for these cars, but like all things Euro they do tend to be pricy.
