Hi Sam, thanks for sharing this. I was wondering why you are using both midi outs/ins? Seems like only 1 would be necessary... For me (basically i have the same setup) i was able to accomplish this with just the midi out2 (On the Viscount) to the midi in (on the hx3) and it works....(out1 did not work...hmm...)
Also, i didnt try this yet, but I wonder if you could use the HX3's Leslie simulation instead of the Viscount's to the hurricane and which you preferred.
I found out that on the Viscount, it's setup to be a midi controller on both the upper and the lower manuals. As for the hx3s leslie simulation, there's no way to turn the leslie simulation off in the Viscount. Remember, we are using the efx return jack on/in the Viscount. 😊
Hi Sam, I'm pretty sure the midi for both upper, lower, and pedals are all sent across a single midi cable (in my case Out 2). Try plugging just your Out 2 to the HX3 Midi In, I'm curious)
As far as disabling the internal Viscount Leslie sim see page 8 on the Viscount user manual...(I copied the relevant part below)

Adjust the internal Rotary effect:
- [ROTARY DIRECT]: when the led is on, the Rotary effect is not sent through the outputs [LEFT], [RIGHT], [PHONES] and the headphones output on the rear.

I thought the Viscount was one of the best Hammond clones, that being the case, why would you use an HX3.

Thanks for your comments. This video is showing the Viscount as a midi controller. I love the Viscount as a midi controller because it allows you to access the midi and the audio technology of the Viscount. I think that the Viscount is a great Hammond clone, but that's just our personal preference. Other people may think differently. Thanks again. 😊
You can tweak the HX3 a lot more and make it sound like just about any Hammond organ and Leslie. But yes the Legend sounds great as is!

I have heard that and I also have heard that the Nord C2D is better. However, I'm starting to think that the HX3 tweaked sounds more authentic than the Visount and the Nord. I really wished I could be 100% sure. It could just be a matter of personal taste.
