I think Nikon is seriously back in the game and will be the King again as there are going to be the Mid-Range king Z6iii and Zf, for landscapes and studio shooters there will be the Z7iii and for the lower mid-range they are also going to launch a Z50ii dx and a Z5ii fx, and probably a new Z9h or Z9ii and they already have the best set of lenses ever. This year is going to be so much exciting.
Nikon showed that they could lead with the Z9 and then the Z8. The rest of us are waiting for the Z6 III and Z7 III to see what may come. Some of these specs are plausible, but others would be a surprise.
The Z6 III sounds interesting. I prefer they keep it at 24 to 26 MP, maybe 33, but not any more. A 61 MP Z7 III would be interesting too, but where would that out the Z8? A new Z5 II would be great too.
24 is a low number compared to other cameras, but for most of us, 24 is a very good resolution. The files are easy to work with and gives us plenty of detail.
I hoping for the 24mp to be right. Because I'm a canon shooter and I really wished for 33mp on the R6ii. So if the Z6ii has 24mp I won't be tempted to switch 😂
Which Sony camera are you comparing R to? R was an experiment, and not a very good camera. It helped Canon learn more about mirrorless and their customers preferences.
All i care about is Nikom Z5 mark II. It could be my first camera ever and i would like to have some video capabilities as well...lets see how much it will take for it to come out and how much Nikon is going to dissapoint
Z5 owner here. If you're not invested in the Nikon Z system yet, I'd go with Sony instead. Even the Z8/9's autofocus is subpar compared to Sony, and even the Sony A7 III can e.g. record HD video at 120 fps if you're interested in slow-motion. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't buy the Z5 again and would go with an A7 III instead. Maybe I'd even save up for an A7 IV, seeing as the Z5 II (if it isn't getting cancelled by Nikon, which I believe is very possible) would almost certainly cost around $2.000, and definitely no less than $1.800.
Hmm Simon, in a week time the eight-lover has reduced the resolution from 33 to 24.5mp, which doesn't prove his consistency ;-) This last resolution looks more credible because it implies several common part to the Zf which makes perfect business sense.
It would be good to see Nikon again seriously competing for market share but I think they will struggle to make any progress against Sony and Canon in the near future at least which is a shame. Those that defected need very good reasons to sell their Sony and Canon cameras and lenses and return. Can't see that happening any time soon as they are not producing anything which is any better. They may pick up some scraps from niche brands now but being the King again is a stretch of the imagination for sure.
I've never seen a signal poraser do that either ;) 4K120 at that price point is a big surprise. These go against what was reported on December 21. He has a poor track record of being accurate with leaks.

Just wondered have you ever reviewed Chiopt lenses. Spoke to someone who bought a 28-85 f3.2 fixed focus on zoom cinema lens for £2500 and loves it.
