Who next?….perhaps the grief stricken goddess?
Oh that would be cool. Or one about Sindri and the difficulty of acceptance and letting go. Sindri to me feels like the best example of an inability to accept that life happens and sometimes what happens is something we don't like. He didn't accept Brok's death the first time which led to him not getting all of his soul back. Now at the end of Ragnarok he can never rest in peace because his soul is incomplete
What about Fucking Gradatute? Brok's pack animal.
You mean: "Who am I going to plagiarize next"?
@@MattVyle plagiarize?
What about hotline miami
The fact that Baldur is so desperate to physically feel means that he must have been able to at some point- afterall, he talks about not being able to taste, feel the temperature of a room, or the touch of a woman. He states they are "gone"- meaning he HAD to know what those felt like at one point. He wouldn't be able to mourn their loss, let alone go as mad as he did, if he had never felt it before. Freya didn't just deny him his freedom- she stole his life from him. The games paint her in a very sympathetic light, but I understand why her own son hates her.
What's the problem is that you or we put the blame on Freya but it was Odin his own father who was a coward who brainwashed Buldur. Sure Freya may have used the spell on him. But Buldur was heavily brainwashed by Odin.
@@christianhenry4173 Odin never gave Baldur sensory deprivation, Freya did.
@@Lulz1356 if you listen to what Odin said in Ragnarok he made it clear Buldur was his best tracker. Odin sent him to kratos house, not Freya
@@christianhenry4173 Freya drove him mad, not Odin.
@@Lulz1356 But it still was Odin who brainwashed him. Freya even tried to tell the story about Buldur in Ragnarok
I think Baldur's the reality of what immortality would actually be like if someone was 'blessed' with it
How so he was robbed of all sensation. So while enduring a long life he couldn't experience anything.
It’s not the immortality part that drove him insane is the fact that he literally can’t feel anything.
He can’t feel the wetness of water, the cold of snow, the heat of fire, it’s like being born in a metal suit. Everything he eats taste like nothing, even alcohol doesn’t affect him as much as he tries. Sure he’s free of pain but what’s the point of life if you literally can’t feel anymore
Kratos himself can be considered immortal by mortal considering how many times he has escaped death and the underworld. Yet he actually can still feel and have a good meal and beer
I can see it. A lot of human senses are oriented around analyzing how dangerous the world is, but being immortal makes a lot of that information useless, and the mind is pretty damn good at ignoring useless information.
😅 let's cut the slack here. This version of Buldur couldn't get no satisfaction and living a life of adolescence. That's the whole problem..
Don't think so. At least, not in Baldur's case.
He was surrounded by nigh immortals. His problem was that he couldn't feel anything, not that he couldn't die.
Kratos is as Immortal as Baldur.
Able to literally will himself to heal from injuries that to most every body else would be fatal to where they don't even leave scars.
And the things that *do* leave scars are the things that we know *killed* him.
The multiple wounds from the blade of olympus for example.
Immortality was never Baldur's problem. Being permanently numb to ALL things was the problem.
Wrong. Buldur was invulnerable. But he's not truly Invulnerable. Because to be Invulnerable means to not take injury or unable to be hurt or touched. Buldur wasn't truly Invulnerable. He was nearly invincible
@@christianhenry4173bro their point still stands. You were all like " well he not invulnerable to ALL things" like that was the main point of the comment. Baldur never interacted with mistletoe before so as far as he was concerned he numb to everything up till that point.
@@Mr.Murasakino that's not truly Invulnerable. True invulnerability means you can't be touched or hurt. We've seen Buldur bleed with painless blood
I see a lot of people say that immortality would be a great thing to have, and while i get that some parts of it would be nice, theres far too many downsides. There's a game i played a long time ago called Lost Odyssey and it centers around a guy named Kaim that is immortal and there are stories you can find throughout the game called A Thousand Years of Dreams. These are stories from Kaim's past that show just how much of a burden being immortal is. Life goes by and the world changes and people grow up and die while you stay the same. Forever young while those you form bonds with leave you behind. The beauty of life is that it's finite. We only have so long in this world and we have to make the most of it since our time is limited. To me being immortal would be agonizing and i wouldnt want to form any kind of bond with people since they're gonna die anyways. There'd be no point in it
This is how I feel about the concept as well. Also where can I play this game?
It’s not for everyone there’s also Warlock of the Magus world and other stories about Mages/Wizards that live for hundreds of thousands of years but they never realize the passage of time due to how engrossed they are in there research.
If you become obsessed with certain factors of life like the unknown and it’s mysteries or record keeping the history of the world then immortality becomes a boon for those that still want more time for their work
Freya took away all the possibilities of Physical Pain
But in doing so, left Baldur with the worst possible pain of all. Constant mental decline and anguish. She gave him a fate worse than death. His hallucinations in Helheim made me dislike Freya. She lies to his face as he cries and begs to be fixed
I think Freya is painted in a more positive light than it should especially in Ragnarok ,not only did she took away his son ability to feel anything but she lied to him about not been able to break the curse thats something i dont think odin would do
Probably. Odin would just come up with some effectively impossible task and use freedom as a carrot, assuming he would even put such a curse on him to begin with
I think this adaptation of Baldur is much more realistic than Norse mythology. If someone made it so you couldn't feel anything or ever die and on top of that your already a being who will live far longer than others so you now have to spend hundreds if not thousands of years in this ironic eternal agony of not feeling anything, you'd definitely become an insane, angry, violent and bitter man.
When Baldur first appeared in Kratos' life, I was under the assumption that Baldur knew about Greece, the Greek Gods, and Kratos' Greece massacre UNTIL I learned a couple of months later I would learn he was hunting Faye
WOAH. I didn’t realize Baldur might have mistaken Kratos for a giant, but it makes so much sense
Immortality in a fallen world would only leave people as monsters realistically speaking without a higher peoer.
Invulnerablity. Not immortality.
He already has crazy healing magic being the offspring of two gods. He was basically invincible as all hell.
But he is Invulnerable not immortal.
People don’t realize Freya is by far the worst person in the entire god of war series
No, that would be Odin
@@m.r4841 yeah no odin didn’t do anything bad that was even close to what Freya did
Are we forgetting that Odin tortured Mimir for a century? And that doesn’t even scratch the surface, Odin is far worse than Freya.
@@deadlyalchemist397 oh yeah I forgot about that but odin didn’t love Mimir plus he wasn’t immortal so his suffering with and eventually
My boy Cynic!
Your fear does not give you the right to take away someone's agency
2018 is miles better than Ragnarok imo
Do Agent 47 of Hitman
There is something that bugs me did the norns not know how to lift the curse
Bro, which email do i reach out to? i would like to have you do a section of a video for me, a collab
I would be willing to do the same
Do aiden from watch dogs
Are you really gonna go around all the characters and talk for everyone of them , seriously the games launched 3 years ago maybe 4 and your now talking about it wow pointless videos ,why should i watch your lame videos when i already played and understood everything .....
@@thegodslayer6640 lol simple answer buddy…dont.
Baldur knew who Kratos was. He knew where he was from. That was not a case of mistaken identity. Baldur went in there, pretending that it was a case of mistaken identity. He thought that if anyone could make him feel pain, it could be the godkiller known as the Ghost Of Sparta. Baldur wanted to feel something and was so desperate that he decided to try and kill 2 birds with 1 stone by picking a fight with Kratos while hunting what he thought was a giant.
Why are you copying other TH-camrs Thumbnails?
The video is also concerning similar too?!
From?
@@Ohimeshinso Fatbrett he already cover this a year ago
Have you seen cynics channel? Hes had a similar thumbnail look for over a year now though. If he JUST plucked it out of nowhere id get it but hows this “copying”? Look at his Mafia videos, his arkham knight video, anything from RDR2. MONTHS of uniformity, hows he stealing? To be fair its also an EXTREMELY basic look. What hes doing with his God Of War videos is also reminiscent of what he did with Ghost Of Tsushima. Little stories here and there to build up to the MAIN focus which was Jin and now would be kratos. Theyre styles are also a bit different. Fatbrett talks more from a writers perspective. And ive never heard cynic point out the importance of storytelling like fatbrett. Fatbretts a talented writer and takes thing from an authors perspective. Cynics never really done that in any of his videos. Just cuz they have similar styles doesn’t mean anyone is copying or stealing. And if that was the case 99% of TH-cam is copying each other. Fatbrett is not entirely different from other analysis channels that have been doing their videos much longer. But because its not “God of war” he isnt copying?
If I was copying anything i wouldnt be posting only 1-2 times a week. These would all get done much faster. As far as thumbnails go its a consistency thing. Ive had these types of thumbnails for 12 months or so and its a pretty basic concept that doesnt require me to spend hours in photoshop. Its not like im ripping off a unique look. For the actual video, look at what i did with ghost of tsushima and those individual videos, red dead, or mafia. Truth be told at the end of the day nothing i do is anything beyond rewatching cut scenes or overlooking into passing comments shared within the games dialogue. I appreciate the integrity check and im glad you have creators backs. Really happy people are dedicated to their favorite creators like that. Thats the jest of the story though.
Thank You @CynikGTA great video and i appreciate the hustle and time that went into this!! 🤌🤌
Appreciate you
