Discovered your channel on Jeff Pelletier channel. I am planning on hiking this loop you Jeff and Audrey ran in a day. I will however be carrying full pack and camping to enjoy the beauty of the Tetons. Longest day hiked for me 19 miles. Average 15. Not bad for a 73 yr old lady. Enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing
This was an amazing hike-run. We did the loop counter clockwise. So beautiful and very challenging! Definitely do this one again. Thank you for sharing!!!
Binged your videos and when i saw the notification for a new one I was really excited. You inspire me! Glad you enjoyed Teton. EDIT: I am at the point in the video where you suggest the average american cannot walk 20 miles. Well, since i started watching you ive been walking more and more, and this weekend 1/15/2022 i was hoping to do a 20 miler. Its city miles but with a couple of bridges that look into the ocean. I'm guessing ill be at an average 3mph ideally 3.5mph so im looking to finish the walk at 7 hours. I did 10 miles last week non stop on flat trail. Ill report back tomorrow.
Good to hear you are taking in some of the videos on the channel. Love to hear your post-20 mile report. I think that is probably beyond what most folks would do for sure. Way to move.
@@FullTiltWard typing this from the treadmill. 30 minutes left to finish off 20 miles. My battlebuddy bailed on the trek/run so i decided to do it safely at home. Im 250, 26 and a smoker. Im in so much pain but im very happy. Around 40k steps. Thank you for giving me the strength and inspiration. Consider me a patreon sponsor very soon. All in all a bit over 6 hours for 20 miles
@12:15 wow!! 🤩 I have to go. I get all emotional when I see beautiful scenery and I’m tearing up just watching this video 😂😂😂 oh geez. Lol but amazing views !
Beautiful loop and nice commentary. This one is going on the bucket list for sure. And I agree, it would be an ordeal for an average person do 20 miles in a day, even if completely flat. I appreciate you making the comment because I've found that inexperienced people tend to have bad conceptions of distance, elevation, time, and their abilities, and can end up just relying on (also bad) estimations from other people who just hazard a wildly overoptimistic guess
Glad it is on your radar now. And yes, 20 miles walking continuously at a moderate pace means 6-7 hours of straight movement with zero breaks. I still think this is a tall order for most North Americans. Even some of my fit non-runner friends would be a question mark to be good for this distance.
I just started watching this video; will do so in sections but may finish it tonight so that this insomniac might have some thoughts of beautiful trails while trying to fall asleep :) Really enjoying this so far! It's been many years since I've been in the Tetons. Cool to see that you are not afraid of encountering bears and other wildlife. I get a bit "edgy" when I'm hiking or jogging alone in areas where bears and bobcats are common. I live in the Colo Springs area and there's signs everywhere in the open space and regional parks about said animals! Hah.
That sign with all of the "don't" while on the trail... LOL! Welp... Great run and what an amazing place! I love your videos and enjoy living vicariously through your adventures while I "multitask" at work.
Great start with the bear sign 🪧 🐻 Then seeing the black bear. 😂 The ones I have seen were so skittish when they see humans. Thanks for sharing such an amazing route!!! Looking forward to the next one!
Love the video. You let me re-live a run I did with 2 friends back in 2020. Exact same route only we started at the Death Canyon trail head. I would recommend this route to any ultra runner, stunning scenery.
Went back finished the video. Outstanding! Next time I’m there instead of just fishing I’ll have to do a trail run to explore the backcountry. Great job Kerri. Thanks
20 miles. Flat. No backpack. Aid stations ever 3-5 miles. Average American could probably struggle it out. But they’re gonna be sore! Love the content as always!
Surprised about you meeting the black bear! But after watching the whole video, I realized that this was filmed some time last summer? We went hiking in Grand Tetons in the summer of 1981 and met a grizzly bear cub. This was one of the scariest moments of my life, since I knew the mom was somewhere nearby. Luckily we did not meet her!
I don’t think an average person can do a 20 mile and I think a healthy person will struggle with that terrain. I know I would but I will be willing to try thanks for the video.
Average American 5 miles tops! Heading to Tetonnpark this summer and thinking about doing this loop. What was the gps map that you had on your phone early in the video that you followed?
How many years of continuous practice did it take you to be able to do this? I've been running consistently for 3-4 years and can hike 15mi pretty easily, but the long-distance trail-running looks like a different animal... perhaps the lighter load makes it easier. Anyway, great work. Thanks for the inspirational videos.
I've run out on a trail near Kananaskis where three little furry butts are suddenly scooting out of my way on the trail around a corner - and then spotted mom down the trail keeping an eye on me. She brought the cubs off trail and treed them for safety while watching me descend the next switchback.
Great accomplishment!!! You're lucky that was a black bear cub and that momma wasn't around... Please take bears and other wildlife encounters more seriously.
I think perhaps more of a juvenile than a cub. On previous runs I've come across cubs and mommas. What do you believe I should do to take these encounters 'more seriously'? Genuinely curious.

Your videos are not only joyful to watch but are inspirational. Bless you for sharing your passion.

@sarah beth - it is sometimes a little overwhelming for me too. Although an involuntary goosebump response is more common.
OMG - another adventure of yours to add on my bucket list. What a stunning scenery! Thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks Kerry. It is now on my bucket list.
Great addition to the list for sure.
So amazing! I'm always impressed how you find your way, even when coming to so many forks in the trail, you always seem to choose the right path.
Knowing how to use my phone and follow a GPX track is an essential skill.
I can't wait to go visit

Hope you slept well, my friend. And I just don't have the energy or desire to worry about animal encounters. Quite the opposite, I rather enjoy them.
That sign with all of the "don't" while on the trail... LOL! Welp... Great run and what an amazing place! I love your videos and enjoy living vicariously through your adventures while I "multitask" at work.
Yeah the sign was a funny addition as I was going through the editing. Glad to keep you company at work, my friend.
Glad to see you’re doing well. Happy new year Kerry.
Looking forward to hopefully going on many adventures of yours this year and beyond.
Absolutely.
You inspire me so much I get goosebumps sitting here in my chair. What a great route! Maybe my favourite day hike so far Ive seen of yours.
What a great comment! Love picturing the goosebumps - and yes I had them there, too.
Thank you for sharing the adventure!
lol at skipping on the bridge
Good catch.
Another amazing tour of the type of adventure I endeavour to do (one day). Thank you to the David Attenborough of the trail, the one, the only, FTW.
Thanks Tony. Although that praise may be a couple steps too far!
Great start with the bear sign 🪧 🐻 Then seeing the black bear. 😂 The ones I have seen were so skittish when they see humans. Thanks for sharing such an amazing route!!! Looking forward to the next one!
Yes in retrospect the sign was pretty well placed, wasn't it?
Love the video. You let me re-live a run I did with 2 friends back in 2020. Exact same route only we started at the Death Canyon trail head. I would recommend this route to any ultra runner, stunning scenery.
Hope it was a good revisit for you. Starting at Death Canyon would have been a cool way to do the loop, too.
Another great video. Thank you, Kerry.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great new post, Kerry!
Thank you!
Beautiful.
Am I missing yoga class here. Brilliant.
hoora! exactly what i've been waiting for lol. thanks kerry and glad to see you're well
20miles... not for the average american but definitely for the average non-american haha
Glad you were hoping for this. And yes, happy to be well.
Perfect way to see the Grand Tetons with a running guide. Happy new year Kerry! Keep inspiring!
Happy new year!
Another great trail run. Thank you 😊
Thank you too!
Went back finished the video. Outstanding! Next time I’m there instead of just fishing I’ll have to do a trail run to explore the backcountry. Great job Kerri. Thanks
The trails around there have so much variety and quality, Randy. Glad you came back to see it through.
I've added it to the bucket list! Thanks for taking us along!
You should! Will be a fine item to add to the ole list.
You go to such beautiful places. It would be lovely to see more of the views then a close up of your face.
Lots of places you can go to find pure landscapes and no people. Sorry to cloud up your views.
Really liked it!🔥
20 miles. Flat. No backpack. Aid stations ever 3-5 miles. Average American could probably struggle it out. But they’re gonna be sore! Love the content as always!
Possibly. But they'd have to sustain and earn it. Would be an interesting experiment. 100 Randoms - how many would survive?
As always another awesome run and adventure
Glad you enjoyed it
this looks incredible! thank you for this
👌 that's very cool
Another great one Kerry - just beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely love your trail running videos!
Glad you like them!
Great run Kerry! 20 miles for an average person is full day at best.
LOL the footage of you running past is hilarious knowing you have to go back and get that camera lol
Right? I feel kind of silly out there on my own doing that. But the footage is nice. Craig Adams channel is basically exactly that for entire videos.
Nice loop
Very cool!
That was wonderful thank you!
You are so welcome!

I can imagine that meeting a grizzly would get the heart pumping.
Were the people from NY on the North side of Phelps lake, the rock jump is on the east side.
Ahhh. Was curious where that was.
I don’t think an average person can do a 20 mile and I think a healthy person will struggle with that terrain. I know I would but I will be willing to try thanks for the video.
In this terrain, it would be a struggle for most. But worth the pain.

You can do it - just go slower. It's usually just an eating and drinking contest.
I´m wondering what happened to your insta, it doesn´t seem to be available
My thoughts of bears while running, its a small one? Where is mom…Alert Alert 🤔😳 great video 🤙🏽
I've run out on a trail near Kananaskis where three little furry butts are suddenly scooting out of my way on the trail around a corner - and then spotted mom down the trail keeping an eye on me. She brought the cubs off trail and treed them for safety while watching me descend the next switchback.
The average American would not be able to do more than 3-5 miles on a trail like that
When was this actually filmed?
People territory??
20 miles of trail? hahaha . definitely an optimist
He was indeed.
Great accomplishment!!! You're lucky that was a black bear cub and that momma wasn't around... Please take bears and other wildlife encounters more seriously.
