I'm from southeast Georgia, and I remember playing Valdosta back in the middle and late 1980's. As usual, Valdosta had powerhouse teams back then. I remember back in 86 my high school (Bradwell Institute) went down to Valdosta to play them in the playoffs. We had a pretty good team that year as well, and we thought we would go down there and take it to them. They beat us 49-14 and we had like six guys on that team that went on to play D-1 college ball. But, Bradwell would go on to beat them three years later in the playoffs down in Brunswick, Georgia. This one was a lot closer as Bradwell won by 2 on a field goal late in the game. They don't call Valdosta "Title Town" for nothing.
Go cat's go. It was a honor and privilege to have been on the field and play for coach Hyder and with a group of talent young hard noise football player, they are my family and still is. #93 defensive captain c/o 94.1990-92 state &nath championship team. Never, never, never, never, Quite, if at first the breaks go against us, what do we do!?
Hey 👋 My name is Avante, 12 years old and my dad was a Valdosta wildcat aswell I miss him so much, he was number 88 and was the best dad ever. I would like to ask a favor if you could post any of his plays and memories about him on Valdosta wildcats if you can ever find a video, his name is Carlos Kendrick Moore.
Hey Avante - This is a complete God thing, your dad was my favorite Wildcat growing up. My dad was the Touchdown Club president when I was a little younger than you and introduced me to your dad. He was a fantastic football player and an even better person. So sorry to hear that he is no longer here, but I also have the 1989 game where the Cats won the state title on my page. Search for Valdosta @ Clarke Central. Hope the videos make you smile and remember him. I know he loved yall!

This is how fans outside Valdosta still view the Wildcats, and think this is still the way the program is. Not quite
