Korea have an amazing gem like spica but it's too bad they don't realize it....

Such an underrated group .. Korea really let this vocal powerhouse of a group slip through their fingers
It's seems like every generation - worldwide - has groups or artists that are just under the radar and disappear or break-up. Spica - to me - was certainly the group for this generation (I know there are others but the possibilities for them seemed so big). Too bad about that. We do, at least, have KEEMBO to carry on in some fashion.
@@tommccarthy3052 in 2022 I believe “Cherrybullet” is that group Korea isn’t appreciating like they should especially with Bora as their main vocalist
@@ix_ix_ So i listened to four of the singles - had to listen to the 1st one and the latest - then checked on the Wiki for more info. Unless their info is incorrect (possible) none of these songs charted in the top 40 in Korea. Seriously? That makes no sense to me. The two new songs - in terms of sound, bottom end - reminded me of Expose's "I Specialize in Love" (1992) and the rapid fire lines made me think of Bollywood goes Korean. Very clever.
What people want, and what sells vs. what groups do and the songs they put out that aren't popular still eludes me. I think the general K-Pop audience skews young and that may be part of the problem - I certainly think it was with Spica (older than most Idols on their debut).
@@tommccarthy3052 another thing was Spica debut the same time as AOA so that could have been a problem too because AOA is amazing (even though now they are ruined) but at least Choa is singing and in the public again since she pretty much was AOA
@@ix_ix_Hard to tell there but when it's so competitive you never know. There was a lot of criticism of Spica's management & promotion (justified I think) & AOA's people did a better job overall.
The thing that really killed Spica was disappearing for nearly two years. You just can't do that when "the beast" wants regular comebacks.
I am giving a thumbs up because no one ever sings a Brandy song and she has amazing music that needs to be recognized by all. You go girls
They have amazing voices. I thought this when i heard 'tonight' and again for this song. They are really underrated. I hope they have more opportunities to showcase their talent!!
They really do; they're the first group that I think could make it in the U.S., they don't have a weakness. What they need is a hit song, that can be transferred into english (This isn't it).
+D.E.B. B I disagree. America doesn't do good with Happy or Cute...It's happened before with Girls Generation but I think 2NE1 and Red Velvet. They should try the Europe they'd be huge since they love EDM and Pop.
Waiora Ranginui On the contrary; happy and cute do great when they're great songs. Arianna's 'Break free' is pretty much like what a lot of kpop has been producing. I think that a lot of opportunities have been wasted by lack of lyricists. Consider what B.E.G.'s Abracadabra would have done on the charts in America if it had English lyrics, because the music was top notch. It had everything. Today, so much revolves around the release, the video has to be good too, even though most videos have nothing to do with the music.

Jiwon's lisp is cute. Its hard to notice a lot but you can hear it when she sings in the first little bit she does.

nowadays there are so many people in every field.. even if u deserve it, recognition won't always come easy.. especially in the entertainment industry!
maybe they're growing slowly but I prefer a long lasting group that's actually talented and has good songs, than a 1-hit wonder group that disappears after a couple years! and of course I'd love to see them grow more and more~

But Spica seem to stand out from the rest, they had and still have a true talent, they work so well together, total sadness they have dis-banded,

I can't believe it took me so long to look up Spica! I've seen their name alongside Mamamoo videos for quite a while now and decided to give them a listen. What a great first track to introduce Spica to myself! Lol. I'm officially hooked. Excuse me while I spend the next 4 hours looking up every performance of Spica. Thank you. Lol I hope Spica will gain much needed and deserved love and popularity in 2015. I already know they're gonna b fan favorites soon. ❤️❤️
you should really check out their other cover songs like "Breakaway" "Its Raining Men" and their acapella. Their original songs like Tonight, You don't love me, and tracks from their first 2 albums will blow you away
you should watch their cup song performance on weekly idol and their kcon 2014 performance (especially the a capella no diggity part) because they were amazing!
Watch their cover by the 90's group Fink.L called Blue Rain. Vocals were mind blowing and the song is amazing just type in Spica -Blue Rain :)

Of course Spica will slay! Being a new fan myself (a few months) , is makes me so sad seing how underrated they are. They are truly one of best vocal girl group, alongside Mamamoo, but they don't get the credits they truly deserve. I hope that in the future they will become more famous. Spica, fighting!

They're one of my favorite kPop girl group. I just don't understand why they aren't as popular as the other girl groups. They actually can sing and their harmonizing is on point. Not to mention they're all very attractive. Most kPop groups sing individually and even then they sound pretty mediocre. They hardly ever harmonize and when they sing live the background music is set louder to mask when they sing off key. Even the girl with the short bob hair (who is the rapper in this group) sings better than some of the lead singers in other groups. Spica please wow us with a new album!

The rapper named as Sihyun and in their debut era, she was introduced as vocalist but then Jiwon, the girl next to her seem to improve a lot and then they decided to make Sihyun a rapper, even though she's not that good but well when she sing it's enough to beat some lead vocalist from other groups.
Because people like with their eyes.... they just need to wear more sexy clothes and look naked most of the time, then they will be popular. It's sad since they are so talented.
+thanh nguyen, +nekomiki82, +m vang isn't that the sad truth... sex appeal sells overshadows talent...honestly, these ladies standout on their own as individuals even though they are a group and do not need to dress sleazy. i'm not knocking on the other girl groups but some of them just look so average. but i guess some need the sexy clothes and dance to make them more appealing.

진짜 스피카 아까운 그룹이다. 진짜 보컬 구멍이 없는 실력파 그룹인데...회사가 워낙 프로듀싱을 못한데다 컨셉을 잘못 잡아서 대중의 외면을 받았고 오랜 공백기간이 있던 탓에 대중들의 기억 속에서 완전 잊혀진 비운의 그룹임. 진짜 스피카 서브보컬들도 왠만한 여자 아이돌 그룹에서 메인보컬 할 수 있는 수준임. 진짜 마마무와 비교할 수 있는 유일한 여성 그룹임.
