Laura being this straightforward and honest will be helpful to so many young people. Love it. The advice i have is pretty much the same - respect yourself, dont worry about what others think of you. Being a good person is so much more important than anything else. Being content with yourself will allow everything else to fall into place and life gets easier as you get older 😊
Exactly there are too many little boys/girls out there making videos telling women what is and isn’t appropriate behavior for them. We were lucky going up in the late 90s early 00 . When asking someone what their body count was or how many people they dated was not a thing. These boys/girls don’t understand the difference between courting and dating. We knew the difference and understood that not everyone you date your going to end up with it taught us what we wanted and didn’t want in a relationship
I’m going to be 20 in 3 days (almost 2) and I still hard a hard time accepting to not worry what others think. I’ve got constant anxiety about it and it’s really draining me and not allowing me to live my life to the fullest. For the longest time I’ve been so hard and not content with myself and it’s made it extremely difficult for things to work out around me. Slowly but surely I’m getting the help I need and figuring things out. By the grace of Jesus Christ, I have been able to get through a lot of hard times in my life. I can’t wait to be older so life will be easier. I just want to not care and just be myself! Getting there ❤
When you get older, you will eventually realize that people are not as interested in you as you might think. People are usually more worried about themselves than other people. You might get a reaction at first, but then they will go on with their own lives. The exception to this is family. Families can make it really uncomfortable for you to be who you are. If that is the case for you, you may need the support of a therapist from time to time.
Just like you said at the end of the video, not all girls have the relationships with their moms that they can talk to them about this kind of stuff with, so doing this video really provided a lot of information for them. I'm 48 and a mom of an adult girl, and I'm so proud of you for doing a video like this. She and I can talk like this, thank goodness, but there's a lot of mom and daughters who can't.👏👏👏

I was on birth control for 20 years and had no idea that it was doing horrible things to my body. It created cysts in my breast, shut down all of my hormones, like the ones I needed to live. I found out after taking a test called a Dutch test. Best thing for period cramps is the slim pad off of Amazon. I love that thing! Paps are uncomfortable. Ask for a smaller plastic instrument especially if it’s your first time. Just communicate with your doc. For my hormonal breakouts I found a fabulous mask that I get from Sephora from origins it’s called out of trouble. I just put that stuff on all the places I have a breakout or get breakouts for ten minutes and wash off. I’ve been using it almost everyday it works so well. Thanks Laura for this video! I think that more women with a platform should make these kind of videos it truly can help the younger generation of girls who might night not have a Mom or a Mom that would talk to them about these types of thing. I think that’s why some just don’t care or have respect for themselves and their body.. Self respect is important to have because if you can’t have it for yourself you can’t have it for anyone else. I taught my daughter to have respect for herself and her body. Because her body is her body and if she don’t want anyone touching her then they need to respect that.. I hope if their is a young girl out there that don’t have anyone too teach her the do’s and don’t, I would hope someone from Laura’s channel would share this video with them..

Same here only slightly difference was I had no intention of every having a child being a mom and somehow still end up pregnant despite using protection on both ends his & mine. Don't get me wrong I am grateful for my son love him dearly but so happy it's just us he is the only child and my womb officially can't have children since I have my tubes removed after my second pregnancy was growing outside my tube but anyhow if God is real he sickly granted my wish of not wanting any,ore children one is enough because at 34 my son is about to be 12 so by the time my son turns 18 everyone else I know will barely be having baby's since the trend is now to either not have baby's or have them when you are nearing 40 hahaha🥴🤣🫣
Tip for my girlies out there that experience a lot of pain during a pap: ask for a smaller sized speculum (at my dr office, it is called the “youth” size). I used to get so scared and have panic attacks when they were getting started. One too many panic attacks and my doctor said she was going to use the youth sized speculum. It was so much easier to get through.
Also PSA for laser hair removal - doesn’t work on red or blonde hair cuz the laser travels down the melanin in the strand and there’s none in red or blonde hair 🫶🏻

All I had was the Cosmopolitan magazine and Sex in the City. 😂 My parents are older, so I grew up in a more conservative, Hispanic household. The word sex wasn't said, and when watching tv, I had to shut my eyes in sex and kissing scenes. 😅 So, growing up was super hard for a naive girl like me.
I think the Pap smears thing honestly depends on you. They aren’t supposed to hurt but at someone who has pcos and a uterus that is folded in half and flipped around they definitely hurt me when they use the speculum.
Hey there! I work in an OB office and the speculum itself should NEVER hurt. They should be using one that is the correct size for your specific uterus. Just let them know next time to use a shorter or thinner one and that should take some pain away! As for the swab, that will almost always sting unfortunately. Hope this helps some:)

my pap smear hurt 😞 ive only gotten one so far. my doctor kept telling me relaxing is the most important thing and i tried so hard but i guess i was stressed and tensed and so it made all those muscles tense. so yeah now im afraid for my next one sigh… btw, it wasnt a horrible awful pain! just saying that so i dont scare u guys but it did hurt. relaxing is key

I’ve had terrible experiences with Pap smears, I have had people pinch me serval time’s sometimes enough that a couple drew blood, I’ve had people scrape so hard it hurt for a couple days. I have had a few good experiences but mostly not good experiences FYI they were all different doctors
I also had horrible experiences with birth control (this is not everyone’s experience) I don’t need birth control for it’s intended purpose but I chose it because it was supposed to help with monthly visits from Aunt Flo and it went horribly downhill, so much so that I no longer choose to use birth control. This is not for everyone
Another great things for ingrowns and itchy growth in your bikini area is men’s Nivea aftershave balm COOLING, not the regular one. I apply it for two days after shaving o waxing down there then I’m good.

I’ll take a bit of toilet paper and hold the tampon string through the cheeks. Then the splash gets on the tp instead of soaking the string. The more you try and relax the less painful paps will be. I know that’s hard! Try focusing on deep breathing or something else but it is a quick procedure. Thanks Laura this was so sweet of you to be so open!

Spray tan artist here. I would say it's 50/50 underwear/naked. We literally don't even really notice. Once you see naked bodies every day, it just becomes normal. Honestly, I would say I notice more when ppl wear a bra. It just makes it a little more difficult to get a flawless, even tan. And..it literally takes like 5 minutes. So it's quick and painless. Lol!
I swear I spend the most on tampons because every time I go tinkle I change my tampon to me it feels gross if I don’t change it after the restroom I’m already feeling yuck during that time so for me I’m much more comfortable if I change it each time I use the potty

I think they hurt as well. I've had two kids so naturally they'd go for the larger speculum but you can ask for the tiny one which helps a little bit.
