They do the same in China. As soon as they come of the production line, the cars are immediately registered and then parked in a field along with hundreds of other EVs and are simply left there to rot. There are fields and abandoned city lots with these abandoned EVs all over China.
The EV sales are pre registered cars that will never turn a wheel. Main dealers are almost giving them away now to shift them. I see hundreds of them sat idle on forecourts with this years reg on them. Buy a toaster and get a free car.

Putting on the heat or AC or any other auxiliary system doesn't just reduce your range until the next time you charge, it permanently reduces your EV's range. A battery can only be recharged so many times and each time you do it holds less.

I agree totally about naming storms. The great storm of 1987 didnt hava a name and was probably the most destructive in recent history
Yes, this started back in 2015 in the UK and the aim was to raise public awareness and aid communication, particularly with emergency services. I missed the 1987 storm in the UK as I was on holiday, but I saw the aftermath!
I remember it as Hurricane Fish.
Can we name it post the event something like storm Kier or Storm Rachel would be apt.
And this was before climate change was a thing
I had to cycle to work in that 'not a hurricane' as a certain weather guesser put it, back then, like every other Brit it was just winter weather. Yes it was somewhat more severe than normal, but it was still just more of the same shit winter weather that we always got and continue to get now, and it's not really any worse now than it ever was. How they name anything stronger than a fart, or how they whip up a massive panic over a bit of a cold snap, a few flakes of snow or some heavy rain really annoys me, we used to just deal with it. It does of course suit perfectly to further the 'climate change' narrative that's so popular now, as a means of taxing everyone to death, for no real outcome beyond making certain people richer than they deserve to be for the misery they're causing.
The fact that my 12 year old Alfa Romeo is more reliable than all this lot is the weirdest feeling…
Indeed. I have a Skoda Octavia VRS. The only thing that has gone wrong with it in nine years is a failed water pump (and a minor glitch that caused the rear wiper to come on for no reason! Fixed for £35!). Brilliant car. I think I will keep it👍
Yep, everyone in this household is still mourning our old GT. Should never have sold it. Though we still have our Panda 4x4 that hasn't put a single foot wrong in 10 years - and I do all of the servicing for an average of about £60 a year over the 10 years. £35 road tax and 150 quid insurance up here in Sweden. And greener than any EV. Who'd've thought Italians would be such a good buy.

I am hoping this EV madness ends her in the USA now that Trump is back in the Whitehouse. They can still sell EVs, but without the mandate or tax payer funding. The net zero crazy stuff will be stopped.
Trump is about to make all your cars, EV and ICE, more expensive with his bone headed tariffs aimed at Canada and Mexico.
Remind me, have any EVs been introduced into any Govertment ministerial fleet?
Don't work. EV's are for the peasants. Like Trabants and Lada's were for the Peasants.
Im in the UK listening to the radio the 27th of November Now they Are saying EV sales are up 20% this year, and petrol and diesel cars are falling! now who do I believe I don’t see a lot of electric cars where I live in Wales. You just can’t charge them on the street. Unless you run a cable over the footpath. The government agenda is just ridiculous as usual out of touch with the working man.
May be there are more EV sales because people are hanging on to their ICE for much longer and no need to buy new?
The dealers are pre-registering evs to enable them to be discounted as used cars. They advertise them on Auto Trader as used, but the mileage gives the game away.
@@twig3288thats very true but TBF
… dealers have been doing the same for ALL vehicle sales for donkeys years !

If you speak to EV owners, they say that they can go to their destination and back and charge at home, they have no issues with range or affordability. What most of these idiots don't tell you is that they only drive 8 miles down the road and back.
