Almost everyone that buys one does so becuse the price is low, but then they realize they made a terrible mistake when it's only worth scrap prices a few years later and doesn't run and isn't safe. I had to cycle to work in that 'not a hurricane' as a certain weather guesser put it, back then, like every other Brit it was just winter weather. Yes it was somewhat more severe than normal, but it was still just more of the same shit winter weather that we always got and continue to get now, and it's not really any worse now than it ever was. How they name anything stronger than a fart, or how they whip up a massive panic over a bit of a cold snap, a few flakes of snow or some heavy rain really annoys me, we used to just deal with it. It does of course suit perfectly to further the 'climate change' narrative that's so popular now, as a means of taxing everyone to death, for no real outcome beyond making certain people richer than they deserve to be for the misery they're causing.

Every time it snows or gets cold in Canada, the weather channel issues "Weather Warnings" decorated with a red banner. Now, they call heavy rain "Sky Rivers."

A week(ish) ago in the UK everyone was being encouraged to panic over an impending 'Snow Bomb', no, it was just a bit of snow, less than some previous years in fact, but yeah, mass panic over a bit of snow. Schools and other stuff closed, because safety... I had to walk to school in anything less than about a foot of snow when I was a child, now everyone is just soft and utterly incapable of dealing with any slightly inclement weather.

This heating issue in cold weather will kill. It is fairly common for traffic to grind to a halt in winter, even in a major road. For remote or rural roads it is even more likely. An IC engine will tick over for hours using very little fuel. Just keep the exhaust clear.

I'm sorry I don't believe you, according to our politicians we have only had weather for the last 10 years. It's ok though they have taxes which can change the weather. I'm not sure how it works, they haven't actually told us yet, hopefully Rachel from Customer Services will tell us one day.

EXACTLY ! But watch out they're trying and persuade those who don't buy the climate change nonsense, by pretending its "weather weapons" (even more ridiculous) that are responsible.
The Reality is they're just making a big fuss about perfectly Normal Weather, we have experienced for as long as the planet has existed. Oh noes a bit of wind and rain I christen thee storm Huntley, fear it people fear it !

Putting on the heat or AC or any other auxiliary system doesn't just reduce your range until the next time you charge, it permanently reduces your EV's range. A battery can only be recharged so many times and each time you do it holds less.

It's happening in the diesel market too. DEF (diesel emission fluid) is expensive and the systems are glitchy so what is happening is that 20-year-old diesel vehicles are still being bought over new because no DEF and less problems.

I drove my 1996 LOYAL banger on another long trip last weekend. I did not have to find a charger, or wait in line, or be disappointed that its a "slow charger", or buy coffees & expensive snacks to fill my charging down-time, and since I have never ever experienced a battery fire - I had no worries in that regard either. Oh I love my olde banger so much . . .
