  • In this game changing Khutbah Ali Hammuda explains the concept of Haste in Islam. He advises us to be aware of becoming hasty and disobeying Allah. He also highlights when it is encouraged to be hasty in doing good actions.
    Ali Hammuda is a British Palestinian Imam and educator. He received a bachelors and masters’ degrees in Architecture & Planning from the University of the West of England, before achieving a BA in Shari'ah from al-Azhar University Cairo/Egypt.
    He is currently based in Wales and is a visiting Imām at Al-Manar Centre in Cardiff. Shaykh Ali is the author of several books including:
    -'The Daily Revivals' (www.amazon.com/Daily-Revival-...)
    -'The Ten Lanterns'
    -'The Friday Reminder'.
    He delivers sermons, lectures and classes across the country including as a instructor for Eman Academy, on Eman Channel and at the Light upon Light conference.

    Alhamdulilah this is such a beautiful and insightful halaqa. May Allah reward you our dear brother Ali in this life and the next ameen. This morning I struggled to get out of bed to pray Tahajud, preferring more sleep over meeting my Lord for an appointment, tomorrow I will remind myself to hasten towards Allah.

    *Haste - Isti’jāl استعجال*
    ❌ haste that is blameworthy 7:01
    1) 7:40 haste in prayer
    2) 11:10 haste in du’a - 2 forms
    (i) 11:16 du’a against yourself, family, or property that may be answered & you will regret
    (ii) 13:02 impatience towards Allah
    3) 13:40 haste in seeking rizq/making money
    4) 17:07 haste when wanting to see change: in a person/the ummah
    ✅ haste that is praiseworthy 21:29
    1) 21:44 rushing to do good deeds
    2) 23:05 don’t delay hajj
    3) 23:57 giving people their rights: debts, apologies
    4) 25:11 repentance to Allah
