Listening to this review 4 years later while wearing Oud Ispahan and it’s still relevant and transformative. Thank you for helping me better understand this fragrance and putting imagery to it.
Wonderful review... After a painful breakup and awful lot of stress at my workplace perfumes and your channel are like the temple you are talking about. My alternative world where I feel safe and cozy. At least for a little while. Thank you for your positive energy!
+Eva40779 Thank you so much for your wonderful words dear Eva40779! Hope you get back on your feet super soon! You are a trooper and will no doubt get over the difficulties life is dealing you right now! I am super happy you like my little fashion bunker oasis! I made it for you guys :)
Bought this for my wife on Valentine’s Day. She tells me off every time I try to wear it. You are absolutely correct, it makes you feel you are in another country. It’s mesmerising.
Oud Isphahan is one of my top favorites from Dior and for oud and rose perfumes my very favorite. This was a brilliant review. You nailed the magic to the temple doors for all to see. And....Thank you Dacob....thank you so very much. Love and coco coco coco Always.
Dear Dacob...I'm not quite sure how to express how much your video has touched me deeply. You truly took us on an express train of emotions and life experiences. From happy and hopefull to dread, but then to understanding and learning to celebrate and embrace what/who has passed--all this, and yet, literally allowing me to smell and envision the scent by transcending the screen with your poetic words. Right up there with Poison, my friend. Thank you, thank you for sharing this journey of a scent. Brought tears to my heart and eyes. Take care. Xoxo ❤️💋
very articulate young man you really have a talent haha..seriously i never wanted to buy a product so bad as after seeing this video..Dior should really hire you xD
Dacob,l know doing these reviews takes a lot out of you,but please allow me to Thankyou so very much for giving us this joy. This will be a perfume that l will hunt down and purchase, your review was me.My father passed away last July and l also drowned myself in perfume and it definitely heeled some wounds. You Are a Special Man Dacob,Xoxoxo.
+Narelle Ravesi Thank you dear Narelle! So sorry to hear about your dad! Perfume does help! It can take our mind off things or enhance certain emotions... its a powerful element! :)
ISPAHAN (we call it ISFAHAN here!) is the name of one the biggest provinces of IRAN and there are big rose (Persian rose) garden there and the rose note in this fragrance has been taken from there (it seems!) Do you have Leather Oud and would you be doing your two cents on Leather Oud or any other Dior Privee fragrances ? Loved your review and I do love my 'Oud Ispahan' as it is a powerhouse indeed.
This was a beautiful explanation of Oud Ispahan by far my favorite fragrance. It too has died and been reborn a couple of times, I'm trying to hold on to the original
I really like the sound of this. I have the YSL Noble Leather too - such a stunning fragrance. Right now I'm really liking Tom Ford Sahara Noir. It lasts for DAYS on me. So sad they discontinued it. I bought, like, three bottles while it was still available! xx
Oh, dear Dacob, your special way of drawing such sensual and vivid imagery never fails to mesmerize me! Simply enchanting. I'm looking for a delicate yet strong rose/oud perfume and it seems to me this one will most probably be it. Really eager to experience all its wonders as soon as I have a chance. If I do fall for it, I have a feeling that getting a decant will be just enough, since you really don't need a lot. Sounds like a masterpiece. Thank you! xoxo
Thank you Victoria :) You really do not need a lot of it but if you fall in love with it you might need more because it tends to become addictive especially in winter and spring :) xoxo
Some scents take you on a journey while others provide a feeling or mood. Oud Ispaham to me is definitely the former and I love it for that. I was unfamiliar with these teleport inducing elixirs when I first purchased the bottle but over time have come to open up my myself and let it take me where my mind subconsciously wants to go. Enjoying the ride from top to bottom I'm grateful to have a bottle and hope others get the opportunity. The last segment of your video brought up a great topic. I believe you should make a separate video on that alone as all fragrance lovers would benefit from viewing a feeling we all share but from a fresh perspective. Sub'ed to your channel now, thanks for the content.
i really like your little stories and scenes you create around every perfume that you like.but as i listen to you i have to wonder If you are a scorpio or have a scorpio rising... i just love how you introduce this romanticized death theme and prezent it with an intensity of a scorpio sign almost.i know it because i have strong scorpio influences.i love how you make me want to buy a perfume i never smelled.it's magick !
Dear Dacob, You truly made me travel. Thank you for putting so much honesty and passion in what you do. I applaude the finale when you express that deep métaphore of the ending and let go. Never thought of that. As much true as in many ancient civilisations and religions we perfume the body before burial. From all the Dior niche ones I havent tried this one yet you truly made me want to "visit" it. I cannot even use the verb "smell" since your description was so oniric 🙏✨🌹
I’ve recently acquired a bottle of this and am yet to try it, initially I sampled it in the Middle East and it seemed perfectly at home there. Mesmerising, and evocative review. Thank you. 🙏😀
congratulation for your members now is growing up to 6K. by the way, i enjoy your video. i have a mini splash 7ml. in one dab on my hand-side by side, it's last for a day on my hand. so potent, rich, moist and strong perfume.
Hi, Dacob! My favorite ice cream is also rose ice cream! But yes, it’s so difficult to find! Oud Ispahan is monumental composition. I really appreciate it, but can not really wear it. It’s like taking some Raphael sculpture to bedroom:)
I got me a big ole bottle of this too , absolutely stelar stuff .... Lasts for days even after showering ! It's a synthetic Oud but the rose water Oud combo is sublime 😍
Hi Dacob xo I bought a sample of this fragrance and wanted to love it I found it had a smell in the dry down that I just couldn't take . Someone said in a video that it almost smelled like cat urine and that is kind of what I get to . I'll try it again . Still searching for a realistic beautiful rose .
+Tammy Fettig Oh dear.. Cat urine? I don't get it at all on my skin. I guess I am lucky then. On me it develops beautifully. The rose is predominent in the opening note. It leaves when the heart and base notes kick in... oud and sandalwood... xoxo
I so love this perfume I wish they didn't reformulate this one. Excellent review I wish more people had the passion that you have. I too feel euphoric when wearing this beauty.
Thank you so much Kyle! I still love OUD ISPAHAN! Mine is slowly changing color and turning a darker pink that is leaning towards golden brown pink! Loving it! Getting more intense! :) xoxo
Wonderful review and I must say : Your hair, shirt and oud ispahan!!!! So dreamy. Whoever does not appreciate your videos must be cooo coooo /u/ not coco :D 5 stars !
Dear Dacob, I’d love to see your review on Gris Dior (formerly known as Gris Montaigne), from Dior Privee. I’m excited to know your thoughts on it. It’s the fragrance I enjoy most from the Collection (of the ones I’ve been able to test out - even over Ambre Nuit or Bois D’Argent). As for this one, I think the Oud is still potent, and get a reminiscence of Leather Oud (which I find a bit “skanky” and animalic - no offense to those who enjoy this fragrance). Thanks again for sharing amazing videos. Love from Puerto Rico.
Thank you David :) I have Gris Montaigne (still with its old name) and I love it in colder months the most. I used it a lot between October and December last year. I still need to do a review for it. I also need to try it in warmer weather to see how it works then. Love to you and Puerto Rico! xoxo
Dear Dacob, I’ve seen this video again. Your final thoughts and comments... just WOW. I cannot express how deeply in tune I am with you. “Fragrances should not be luxury”... just marvelous. It is certainly an experience. Thank you again for reminding me there is still hope in the world. Un abrazo!
Hi Santiago. Thank you. This is a unisex fragrance. Has nothing to do with gender. It all depends how well this perfume blends with your own chemistry, your own essential oils and your own nose/smell sensitivity. It can smell great on any gender but it can also smell bad on any gender. It all depends on the person wearing it. It is definitely a very strong fragrance that should not be purchased blindly as it is not cheap and it is a powerhouse.
Hello Dacob, What a review man.... You took me to the Oud Ispahan journey with you. I need some advice. I am looking for a rose fragrance for day time..... something bright. Is it the one? I am trying to sample it but it is difficult here in India to get hold of Niche fragrances. Thanks & respect for your passion for perfumes.
Thanks Priya! Oud Ispahan is not very bright. It can sting at times... and the oud is overpowering most of the time. Rose fragrances are tricky since I usually do not like the synthetic rose oils most perfume companies use to make their perfumes. I have still not encountered a simple beautiful rose perfume that I love... They all have something in them that irritates me. And the roses I like are in niche sectors which you would like to avoid due to availability in your country... If you can try "Rose Gipsy" by Dior! Its delicate or try the pure parfum of CHANEL N°5... its famous for its may roses from grasse mixed with ylang-ylang... xoxo
Dear Dacob, you are RIGHT! It is a city in Iran! It sure gives it an "orient" silk route mysterious feel doesn't it?! OMG DACOB i love you so much you love rose ice cream, that is very Persian and rose is like so healing and refreshing for the face and body. i want to really try this so much for the name and the rose (absolutely love rose) ... is there a way to get a sample? See you ARE my Persian Brotha! ha Love love love ...I love this description of the field... it feels like a home i am from (sense and memory past) like this was something of my fabric! OHH love it. ( ok i wrote this before watching you actually say this later in the video) thank you dacob for a fascinating review. and this is one i need need need to try. EVERYTHING you have mentioned about this screams my name. Why are you not here so we can just hang out and go get it together? Love to you my dear friend!
+ChanelLV I am sure there is a Diro counter near you? Where you could get a sample. or? It might not be the easiest scent to find but it is definitely worth the hunt ;) Rose is very healing for the body and soul! xoxo
+Super Dacob Dacob just because of this meaning you and this whole transition and the connections I must try it. This is the perfume I will for sure have to try. Because of so many reasons which you know ... But not just those reasons , but because it reminds me of a good friend that was there for me during a not just difficult time but such an emotionally concentrated time in my life. Good, bad, love - all of it.... ❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘
Amazing review of my #1 perfume ! Thank You 😘 I cannot even tell you how many times I'm being stopped with a question "what cologne do you wear" Few times a day -every day ! It's unbelievable ! Magnetic So special
Good question. Since oud is one ingredient it is hard to compare it to other things in nature... or other smells in nature. Lets say its quite heavy... deep smelling, can have a touch of smokey leathery vibes to it. it can be cloying and dry sweet like a sweet wood after it has been burned but without the bitter notes of burned wood... xoxo
this particular fragrance is very powerful and can be percieved as cloying. The big amount of roses mixed with oud make it sweet even though it also has a very dry aspect to it. very special scent.
heyy dacob, i wish you are doing well. yesterday i tried oud ispahan at dior's boutique in delhi, india. i have fallen in love with oud ispahan😭. here in my country it's still available. is it really gonna discontinued?🥺
Hey dear, so for now it seems that it will still be in production and distribution at least in Europe. Not sure about all the regions in the world but the perfume is allegedly staying in the collection for now.
Hey Dacob, big fan here. I was wondering if you had heard of, or could react to the new Fashion Transparency Index (April 2016)which places CHANEL DEAD LAST as the company with the least transparency in production. I am a big fan of luxury brands but I think that if they are really up to the quality and standard that we pay for them, that they should have nothing to hide from us.
+Ginzaboy Hi Ginzaboy :) Thank you :) CHANEL hasn't released their information since years now. They are so concerned about all their contractors being revealed that its difficult to keep trusting them but lets remember that releasing this information has nothing to do with luxury. I mean transparency isn't legally connected to luxury so legally they are allowed to decide not to disclose their information and still be considered a luxury brand. Do I like the secrecy... of course I don't but there is not much we can do about it legally... for now... on another note, I know for sure that almost all their worker/SA uniforms are made in China... so you can immagine that they do not only limit themselves to making workers uniforms in China... but one never knows... xoxo
+Super Jacob Thank you for your honest response, this is why I subscribe to you! To clarify, what I meant by luxury brand and transparency is that you would think a brand like H&M would not want people to know where they make their products (most likely China and Bangladesh), but for CHANEL, you would think that where they make their products would be a point of pride and that they would be interested in telling the world of their unique craftsmanship! The fact that they don't is a bit concerning. But as you say, many people today don't appreciate and recognize true luxury and elegance, so maybe it is society's fault for letting CHANEL get away with this.
+Ginzaboy Don't get me wrong. CHANEL does state where their ready made pieces come from. Each garment and accessory has a "made in" tag on it. But the question here is rather where does CHANEL get their raw materials and materials from. Where does CHANEL start their production? Who are CHANEL's contractors? These are questions CHANEL does not answer. They do however say that their clothes and accesories are either made in France, Italy or Spain. How much of those pieces are actually fully made/produced in those three countries is a mystery.
I have smelled the old batch and the new formula of the Oud Ispahan. They are definitely different. I have been looking everywhere one can think of to get a old formula of this perfume, and i just can’t find it. If someone in here knows where i can buy one, please do get in touch!
what do you think of leather oud ( did you make a review or now a good review on that one ) this review is like a Book romantic 👌😘 thank you so much woow !!
Super Dacob i also like it , there is so much parfum to love , i smelled Granville this week for the first time on my skin , and I love it ! So my next Dior pivee bottle is on her way ( my 9-th bottle 😐😮) with love , Pascalle love your review about cologne blanche also very much ! 👌🌹
Is it possible that this one needs time to love and understand and feel comfortable with it ? Its the one a bought yesterday after lot off thinking ( months ) now I am afraid to open it ..
Oh yes! This one needs a lot of time and it needs the right time of day or night and the right temperature or humidity and the right mood... but it is a potent elixir! It stays on my clothes for days!!!! Wishing you a lot of fun times with it! :) xoxo
And the other one I want ( last I guess will be dioramour or belle the jour ( can you recommand one of those ( or balade sauvage) Want to be able to smell it good and some which is worth adding to the 20 I have
Yes, it appears there is only a synthetic derivate or similar... No clue really, since all the perfume houses keep their secrets and wish us to believe there is more to these juices than really is the case. In the case of Oud Ispahan what thrills me is not the purity or artificiality of the ingredients but rather the visions and memory patterns this fragrance triggers inside my soul... So synthetics or naturals... it doesn't matter to me since this one delivered all the emotions I was looking for ;) xoxo
i have a quick question for you Dacob, i want to try some designer face creams / cleansing products, would you recommend i try some of the items from Chanel or Dior? i noticed Dior have a mens range so i don't know if that would be better for my skin, although it can be rather sensitive. Whats your thoughts? Thank you!
Do you know if the bottles from 2018 are still the same/ are still good ? Because dior maison just has new releases ( also 40ml which i think is enough (?)) And do you know ; Rose Kabuki and Rose gipsy And what your opinion ? Would love to hear ;) because i intend to buy 2 or these three in 40 ml tomorrow ( or balade sauvage which i think will be better in spring )
Really pleasant watching you, nice review. I do not know, but for some reason Oud Ispahan remind me very much of Youth Dew by Estee Lauder .I'm pretty much sure, it is just me....
+Super Dacob Thank you, dear. I think, it is a little bit of yd in every oud:)The staying power of oud ispahan is absolutely unbeatable, though.Anyway,i really enjoying watching your revews.Great job and thank you very much!
+Super Dacob ,forgot to tell you, u remind me very much of my dearest friend Michael, he is a Chanel counter manager and make up artist at Dillards store I used to work. Going to subscribe you:)
Thank you for subscribing dear Viktoriya and welcome to the fashion bunker family :) Say hello to your friend! You are lucky to have a connection at CHANEL ;) xoxo
Listening to this review 4 years later while wearing Oud Ispahan and it’s still relevant and transformative. Thank you for helping me better understand this fragrance and putting imagery to it.
Thank you Damien. Glad you enjoyed my review.

Lanier Smith do you know why some people smell something in the drydown they compare with ( piss ., urine .. smell )?
One of my favourite fragrance reviews ever. So descriptive and passionate. Makes me want to try this asap haha
Thnak you so much Mike :) xoxo

It's beautiful and reminds me of perfumes produced in the 1980's by Dior and YSL. Very intense and warm woody oriental ♥️💞🥰

Excellent review👍🏿
Thank you :)
Excellent description.
That’s it, I’m getting a bottle today☺️. Iris labdanum rose lavender oud etc
Un abrazo!
Super Dacob and by the way, thank you for your empathy, it is certainly something barely found nowadays.
Love the review ( as always) and your hairstyle....wow, dreamy!Really beautiful shade of blonde xoxoxo
Thank you so much Anna :) xoxo
Hi, I was wondering if this fragrance smells better on a guy or a woman? Excellent video by the way!

And the roses I like are in niche sectors which you would like to avoid due to availability in your country... If you can try "Rose Gipsy" by Dior! Its delicate or try the pure parfum of CHANEL N°5... its famous for its may roses from grasse mixed with ylang-ylang... xoxo

+Stanleydragonjr Thank you MJ :) For me too! Super relaxing :) xoxo
What does oud smell like?
Good question. Since oud is one ingredient it is hard to compare it to other things in nature... or other smells in nature. Lets say its quite heavy... deep smelling, can have a touch of smokey leathery vibes to it. it can be cloying and dry sweet like a sweet wood after it has been burned but without the bitter notes of burned wood... xoxo
Thanks,is it sweet in this particular cologne?
this particular fragrance is very powerful and can be percieved as cloying.
+Ginzaboy oh and another note: the SAs uniforms state on them that they are made in China. CHANEL does not hide that information either.
I have smelled the old batch and the new formula of the Oud Ispahan. They are definitely different. I have been looking everywhere one can think of to get a old formula of this perfume, and i just can’t find it. If someone in here knows where i can buy one, please do get in touch!
nice review, anyone know where you can get rose flavored ice cream here in the uk
Thank you Darren. xoxo
what do you think of leather oud ( did you make a review or now a good review on that one )
this review is like a Book romantic 👌😘 thank you so much
woow !!
Thank you pascalle! I like leatehr oud but it is not very special. I do not know a good review of it though... xoxo
Super Dacob i also like it , there is so much parfum to love , i smelled Granville this week for the first time on my skin , and I love it ! So my next Dior pivee bottle is on her way ( my 9-th bottle 😐😮)
with love , Pascalle
love your review about cologne blanche also very much ! 👌🌹
super Dacob ,.. and what about La colle noir
en granville
..
:) xoxo
Super Dacob one more question ( got the 125ml from 2017 )
The 40ml will be from 2018
Is there a difference
40ml would be enough maybe
And the other one I want ( last I guess will be dioramour or belle the jour ( can you recommand one of those ( or balade sauvage)
Want to be able to smell it good and some which is worth adding to the 20 I have
How does the reformulation compare to the pre-2014 formulation
Haven't smelled them side by side...
I love this fragrance a lot too but you know there's no real oud oil in this. They did a good synthetics.
Love you review!
Come to Lebanon, we have the finest rose ice cream & sorbet ;)

+Ann De Moor Thank you Ann :) xoxo
I love this scent! But I cannot wear it! I am not bad ass enough to pull it off 😂
i have a quick question for you Dacob,
i want to try some designer face creams / cleansing products, would you recommend i try some of the items from Chanel or Dior? i noticed Dior have a mens range so i don't know if that would be better for my skin, although it can be rather sensitive. Whats your thoughts?
Thank you!
Hi Dale, I answered you on snapchat ;) xoxo
Do you know if the bottles from 2018 are still the same/ are still good ? Because dior maison just has new releases ( also 40ml which i think is enough (?))
And do you know ; Rose Kabuki and Rose gipsy
And what your opinion ? Would love to hear ;) because i intend to buy 2 or these three in 40 ml tomorrow ( or balade sauvage which i think will be better in spring )
Really pleasant watching you, nice review. I do not know, but for some reason Oud Ispahan remind me very much of Youth Dew by Estee Lauder .I'm pretty much sure, it is just me....
+Viktoriya E Thank you :) There is a bit of youth dew in there somewhere but very much lighter in the powdery touch :) xoxo
A mere shell of it's pre-reformulated self...
