Many of the policies Harris/Walz stand for are such common desires for almost anyone, regardless of one's political leaning. Good education, social safety net, help for those who need it, preserve Social Security and Medicare, and decent wages.

Let's hope this is a re-run of the 2008 election, where, as Obama said, faced a decorated war veteran, John McCain and as a black, non-military career politician, felt he had little chance of beating McCain, until he chose Sarah Palin as his VP candidate...now we have Biden withdrawing from the election, who had a slim chance of beating Trump, Harris who's chances looked better but have had two massive boosts from JD Vance as the GOP VP and Walz, who has tempered Harris' career political background with an authentic, trustworthy background of military service, teaching, politics and enjoys football, hunting and traditional american values.
Following Harris and Walz around is such a campaign nono. It means that Vance is constantly playing catch up whilst they set the agenda. The IRA is the most comprehensive immigration reform in American history, it addresses and fixes the current border and immigration problems. Yes, it will be passed, but only when we elect Kamala and give the House and Senate majorities to the Democrats.
Biden/Harris have worked incredibly hard for average Americans, and are rebuilding the middle class in America with smart, fair governance; the middle class has been gutted, undermined, and destroyed by bad Republican billionaire focused policies. Joe and Kamala have been the most positive, effective, and successful U.S. leaders in modern history and average Americans are the ones benefitting from their leadership. We are very fortunate to have Joe Biden, and soon Kamala as our U.S. President.

You know, I had my reservations about Walz as her VP because, from a policy perspective, he doesn’t balance the ticket to appeal to more moderate voters (right-leaning independents and never-Trumpers) - Dems need a coalition to win. But as I’ve been watching more vids of Walz, I think he balances Kamala in another way. Walz feels genuine and authentic, and he is full of joy - like Ted Lasso, and that helps humanize Kamala to voters who are concerned that she’s a radical California leftie. I’m wondering whether some undecided voters would vote for Harris-Walz just based on vibes and not necessarily on policy, similar to the 1980 and 2008 elections.

Very good informed review. Tim Walz is an inspirational American that doesn’t come across as politician. A typical straight talking senior NCO that knows how to inspire and get tasks done. A very good V.P. pick by Harris and he is the polar opposite of Trump and JD Vance. If the Democrats pull this off and win the upcoming election America will move several steps closer to creating the perfect Union.

The truth is that after 24 years of service, Walz retired from the military, a year before his unit was deployed to Iraq. Vance only served 4 years in the military. He was a combat journalist who never saw comat. He was only in Iraq for about 6 months. Vance retired in 2007. The US troops remained in Iraq until 2011. Since he criticized Walz for retiring from the military after 24 years of service, then Vance should have served a lot more than just 4 years.

This was great, thoughtful commentary - I forgot for a moment I was on Times Radio given some of the third rate dribblers they have had on here lately, but this is what Times Radio is REALLY like and I'm relieved to see this.
A complete vacancy where character and backbone should be is what recommended Vance to Trumps campaign. Trump can't take the chance that his VP will suddenly refuse to bring down the constitution as Pence did.
I remember hearing a caller on a call-in radio show back in 2015 saying she came from a family of career criminals (fraudsters, scam-artists, tax-cheats, and the like), and they were all voting for Trump. She opined that she thought their main gut reason for being attracted to Trump was that they recognized a fellow criminal, and intuited that Trump would be "good for business" for them.
