This is Ren's pinned comment on the video: "Today is one of my favorite peoples birthday. There was a few times we shared birthday parties cause they were so close together, they were always chaotic and awesome. This is me sharing my birthday with him once more. Callum was one of those friends who was constant throughout school, he was a year older than me, always positive, always down to get up to whatever stupid shit was on the menu that day. Fond memories of getting older kids to go get us a bottle of vodka, then heading into the woods behind the co-op and getting so drunk we'd usually end up either throwing up or creating beautifully blurry memories. I loved and looked up to that guy so much. The last time I saw him was ironically at Joes funeral, I'd just won two bottles of wine on the raffle we set up, which was the last time I ever drank alcohol. I decided it would be a sensible idea to drink both, and we had a great send off, felt right all the lads being together in one place, despite the circumstances. Me and call were both absolutely hammered and reminiscing about old times and it felt just like being back in the woods. I got the news Callum had died 6 months after Joe took his life. At the age of 21 it was really difficult for me to process that two of my best friends could die in such a short space of time. Joe dying had hit me so hard that I was almost unable to process Callum going shortly after. I wanted to write something for him for such a long time to pay tribute, but there was a mental block and nothing ever felt right. One day I was sat by my piano and I started to play with no real intention, and this song came out of me that had no words, just music, and for some reason it managed to express what I wasnt able to with words. It felt fitting to hold onto it and release it for his birthday. This is for Callum Mackay Love and miss you always. Ren"
I miss Ren's classical playing. Just soothing and comforting to know young folks out like him playing raw authentic music without computer tech or auto tune. That's why I love Classical and Jazz music. The sound of it speaks to the soul.
I love that we are such a diverse bunch here who appreciate Ren. We all are more or less deep into our separate types of music, or maybe not even really music people. But no matter how purist we normally are with what we listen to or not. Here we have someone who makes us explore new horizons. You reactors are doing something similar. As you explore new types of music you open pathways for others to appreciate all kinds of genres. You all have different perspectives, discover different things about what we all listen to together, and the music is richer for it. Thank you. And thank you for your positivity.
That is just outside of Drumheller, Alberta, in the badlands just outside of Calgary. If you go west you hit the Rockies, and if you go southeast you hit the badlands. That is why they film so many movies here.
Always appreciate you and your thoughts. Music is a language. And like a language that we don't understand the words to, you can still somehow understand the emotion of that person and through that interpret what they're trying to say. If you get a chance, read the pinned comment from Ren.
Another banger from Ren!! I know what you mean about the feeling evoking tribute type stuff. I think it has so much feeling because he put so much feeling into it. He gets really raw with his music, even without lyrics, and let's us all feel what he's feeling and connecting through the human experience.... kinda like with your reactions. It's so good because you are genuine and you let us in to your head space for a moment. Thanks for all you do and for the good humans everywhere! ❤
Ren, well he seems to project his feelings on us. It's a two way empathy thing. Somehow we feel it. Disco Docs reaction has a fantastic full explanation of this song.
location of Mackay Drumheller is a town on the Red Deer River in the badlands of east-central Alberta, Canada. It is located 110 kilometres (68 mi) northeast of Calgary and 97 kilometres (60 mi) south of Stettler.
This touched my soul. It did not need lyrics to express the pain he felt. This brought me back to the day I was informed of my sons suicide. This music says all I could not express with words that day. 😢
I think you have to suffer a great loss to understand some kinds of music. That song was haunting and gets right into your soul. Side note: Do you think Callum Mackay was his brother?
Really liked your reaction and talking about expanding the types of music you can appreciate. So sweet that run brings together people from such a diverse love of music styles and genres and yet we find a commonality in Ren, as we should in each other✌️
my grandmothers last name, her 2nd husband was a Mackay Mack - K She pronounced it Mac - key. Not sure how Ren pronounced it or his friend had. Grans first husband was a Wallace, [Scottish] my mothers father. My Gran was from the Island of St. Thomas, V.I. where my mother was born. She did have some kind of accent but faded into her 80's She lived to 103! Sorry useless info to share to you and to this. But I must say Ren is just amazing and his talent knows no bounds. This piano piece needs no lyrics. Sometimes just a melody is more than enough. Thank you for reaction. ♥

Ren has to be the only person who could get me to sit and watch some1 play piano.
It’s weird. Un real talent
That’s a shame. You’re missing out on a ton of incredible music if ren is the only piano music you will listen to.
Breathtakingly beautiful 💞🎹💞 🎶a tribute from the heart we can all feel 🫶 Ren does it again, touching hearts this time with no words 👏👏👏
