Don't go in the water with the cheap carrots or use a gallon zip lock bag, if you do. They advertise as water tight but they usually are not. Get a Garrett carrot first chance you get.
Thank you. I look forward to getting a much higher quality one soon. On my first hunt, I realized I had to be an inch-and-a-half from the target to even get a sound. I'll take your advice and upgrade as soon as possible.
