Hey, from a vegan perspective: 1) Farmers usually don't clip every bee wings, that would make the hive unproductive. The practice is to clip the queen's wings - when bees relocate its' usually because queen decided to, and if she can't fly, tough shit. 2) Honey is not a byproduct of the process of pollination from the hive perspective, it's the main goal - honey is used as both larvae and wintering food. It's usually replaced with sugar water by farmers, which works but is not as healthy for the colony. Generally speaking 95% of other vegans I know don't eat honey, because of those or other reasons (environmental impact of honey bees, accidental deaths during the harvest of honey, smoking, yadda yadda). Personally, agave syrup is a perfectly fine substitute.
Well thought out answer, +2. Definitely thought the clipping wings thing was a bit; hadn't considered clipping the queen's wings might be a real thing.
I would also like to add that beekeepers commonly practice "wintering" bees, which is basically just keeping them very cold, to save money on preventing mite infestations among other benefits to the beekeepers such as giving them some time off, while the bees suffer so much from the cold that they have to stay close together in a big ball around the queen to keep her warm.
Also if you live in North America, honeybees are not native bee species, and compete with the native, and better, pollinators. So european honeybees are not even a species we should be promoting if you're coming at it from a pollination/environment standpoint (They're better because they do not lick their legs like honeybees do, meaning they sprinkle more pollen as they fly, vs. honeybees that hold onto more pollen and thus don't spread it as far) +2 to op
there's at least 5 types of fries, and their main difference is crisp to fluff ratio. the original: belgian/flemish fries. the slightly thinner and less fresh dutch fries... the even thinner french fries, made famous by mcdonalds - the thing that the dutch *call* flemish fries, which is like two actual belgian fries wide and very fluffy on the inside. and then british chips, which are like what-the-dutch-call-flemish-fries but square instead of rectangular
it's not regular Chinese food, a lot of it is like deep-fried balls of chicken and stuff. also you get salt and chilli chips which have a more "Chinese" flavouring to them
We need bees so really there should be an international effort to keep them buzzing, but I'm not actually sure we need their honey. It's literally so simple to make honey so why are we using insects to make honey and then we make substitute honey to give to them so they don't starve. It just seems like the operation would be leaner if we just let them have their own honey and then made our own vegan honey that we could eat.
Salt is bad for the water table (read: rivers, lakes, groundwater, soil) and will _eventually_ be a huge problem. It's literally salting the earth, at least slowly and in the quantities we use on our roads. It's effects on concrete and your vehicles are annoying but you can live with it. But that's roads. Nobody should be out here shitting on individuals for salting the sidewalk like your neighbors deserve to break their femur on the ice. And as far as cities and highways are concerned, salt is _really_ cheap and effective, so it isn't going anywhere until beet juice or whatever gets _real_ cheap, widely available, and better understood.
I'm pretty sure we had a whole movie about this. Bees making honey and man taking it is a symbiotic relationship cuz otherwise the bees will get lazy and stop pollenating. So they like need us

Honey definitely isn't vegan but people love to cope that it is 🤐
Bees are as vegan as possible an animal product can be, but it’s still not vegan
