    As a non-Bama fan: I don't like this take that "Nick Saban would never have lost this game." While he probably never would have, Saban made it clear that part of the reason he retired was after the Michigan loss it was clear that many players were more interested in 'what's in it for me and NIL?' rather than the program standards he had built.
    So the idea that 'Saban would've had his team ready for this game'? Probably, but even he knew that the team mentality of college players isn't what it used to be

      "Team mentality?" Let me translate that for you. Saban knew that he was cooked with NIL. Bama, and other top schools, wouldn't have a monopoly on the best players. Successful programs are 70-80% talent and 20-30% coaching.
      "Team mentality" has nothing to do with it. That was just a crock coaches sold. It's always about the "team" until the coach bolts for his next opportunity. Go complain about that.

    Let's fix the UGA-BAMA narrative. Facts: Dawgs had worst start to ANY game in a decade. Made adjustments. Stopped Bama's generic scheme AND torched their defense. Bama threw up a prayer to their superstar WR and he caught it. Otherwise we'd be talkin' about their "historic collapse." Vandy exploited the weaknesses they saw on film and Bama's prayer, this time, didn't get answered.

    as a bama fan id rather lose to vandy than uga. vandy executed to perfection and i saw this coming bc last week was such a big win. the way to beat bama is not letting them be on offense and not giving them the last chance to score. bama had the ball for 1 quarter of PT. embarrassing for bama to try the same defense all day when the past few games theyve done so many different formations. kind of hilarious tbh, we looked like we practiced celebrating TDs all week instead of preping for vandy.

    • @nachoproblem
      @nachoproblem ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      The 4-2-5 is a better, more versatile, easier to learn defense. The issue is that they lost a really good safety, in Caleb Downs, and like 6 DBs in the transfer portal when Saban retired, so they are thin in the secondary. You saw it with Georgia, the defense was lights out in the first half, and then the lack of depth in the DB area came to the surface in the 2nd half.
      They definitely stopped the run against Vandy and Georgia. They held Vandy's 2 running backs, that each had over 20 carries, to under 3 yards per carry. Their issue, like with Georgia in the 2nd half, is that their DBs are getting lit up in the passing game. They lost a lot of secondary talent and depth in the transfer portal. Now, Alabama fans are getting a taste of what it's like when the 5 stars that are 2-4 on the depth chart at Alabama leave to be starters else where and they can't hog all of the talent like they did pre transfer portal and NIL. This is what talent parody looks and feels like, an L to Vandy. 🤣

    Vandy just physically whipped us, especially in the first half. We couldn't stop their run game up the middle and they made the plays when they had to and we didn't. It wasn't a fluke. Vandy outplayed us and deserved the win. One of the main things wrongs with NIL is the players no longer fear the coaches anywhere. They don't have to. If they're good enough they can just transfer to another school anywhere they want. The players are in charge now, not the coaches and I think that's the main reason Saban retired when he did.
