I modulate the sample Start Parameter like this all the time. Whats also super fun is letting a random lfo Pick which sample is played and controlling the lfo depth with the fader. The more you push the fader to the right, the more randomness and variation you get

I think that this is the only OT technique video that technically proves that of the set of infinite possible starting breaks (ℵ0), there is a cardinally larger infinite set of new breaks you can make (ℵ1).

Thanks a lot for sharing this. As far as I get it, what wasen't straitforward clear in the elektronauts forum is that you need to put all samples on a single track. On a single track of 16 steps you can actually assign a different (sliced) sample to each trig/step.

You sir are as limitless as your Octatrack. I'm listening to your Coasting Towards Almost, super nice ambient, glitchy, instrumental loves songs (sorry... those are well intentioned labels; I really do like it, plays as an album, congrats on getting it out), and then I come across this... it's like apples and airplanes... different. I really like what you've done here, modulating a breakbeat pattern with the OctaFader... looks fun. I don't yet understand how you did it, but now I know I want to do it too. And you even shared the project and audio files, which is tantamount to a 'double dog dare', giving the much needed motivational kick in the pants. Excuse me while I cancel the rest of my weekend plans and try to reproduce this madness.

You seem a bit on edge in bits of his video because of how it comes across. Hopefully I can put you at ease a bit. Dude, i believe youtube communities and personalities built up the force they have because it was possible to connect directly with the people doing it.
While we've generally come to a place of pristine manicured content and production across youtube, this has come at the cost of being able to relate to it and in that sphere of shimmering dross you've always stood out to me as a dude doing what we do, mucking about, enjoying themselves and sharing that with the world.
You're relatable, honest, genuine and fun to listen to - don't stress about the way you do this stuff; it's exactly that fact that makes it a good day when a new one of your videos pops up.
    Be chilled.

I've had the Octatrack for a month, and I'm amazed at what I can do with even a little knowledge. One thing that I'd like to learn, and forgive me because I'm not sure how to articulate this, is how TMD is achieving the glitches with what appears to be pushes of a green trig (best example is in the intro). How do I do that? Thanks for your help!

The 64 Slice Megabreak of Doom !! In my experience it sounded better with less breaks and less slices. The whole 64 slices can be very chaotic if you don't match the levels of your breaks well etc. Also it works particularly well with downtempo breaks (60-100bpm)

I’ve got my breaks sliced up in ableton session view but when trying to drag and drop the vertically highlighted slices (eg., slice 1 of each break) onto their own audio track it by default drops them all onto separate tracks. Is there a way to drag and drop them so they land horizontally in sequence on the same track? Love u

But sometimes you take 15 minutes to say something you could have said in 3. For example in this video you don’t get to the technique til almost minute 9. Frankly often it makes me leave your videos and move on to other tutorials and I want you to succeed so I hope you’ll take this well! Good luck.
