Good job on this short film. The only thing I would change is have the actors roll around in the dirt a little because the uniforms are too clean. Other than that, you all did a fine job. Best wishes and keep these films coming
Awesome film the cinematography and audio sounded like a real hollywood film how did you manage to get the film look like what settings and did you do post color correction or lighting?
The starter on a WW2-era MB or GPW is on the floor, not on the dash, and the engine has some modern things on it (the non-issue air cleaner and missing fuel strainer, for example). Other than that, I'm surprised you got young enough guys to play the "GIs" and ESPECAILLY surprised to see they're not from the 101st AB
Thanks for watching! It’s a 42 GPW and I own it. At the time it was wired pretty badly to be 12v and it had a turn key ignition installed. Over the past year, I’ve worked on restoring it back to its original state, which include the floor starter switch, firewall mounted fuel strainer, and more. And no, it will never be a 506-101 AB jeep. 🤣

We’re portraying the 39th IR of the 9th ID. That’s really awesome, I know the 9th ID was sent to Vietnam as a special forces division. Really cool man!
Hate to say it, but you will never find one for less than 100£ unless at best it is a used Denix or a broken airsoft gun. We use real M1 rifles, found at gun shows mostly, and a cheap cost is around $1100 here in the states.

Uniforms are mostly from At The Front (atthefront.com) and the weapons we’ve gotten from all over... estate sales, pawn shops, and two are complete rifle builds.
When I was a kid my friends and I had our own little “army” and we would pretend to be the 9th infantry division so when I saw this the first time I was beyond shocked to see other people portraying them as well lol

A 101st veteran I spoke to told me that the forest area he was fighting in his first days in Normandy were very similar to ours in America, and said the only difference was the type of underbrush. A memoir that I read of a 508th soldier (Jump Into The Valley of the Shadow) tells of his first 4 days in Normandy (d-day thru D-plus 3) repelling German attacks with 40 or so other soldiers in a heavily wooded area. Yeah, I think it’s great that you’ve been there, and I don’t know all the details of your trip, but how much of the country did you actually see while you were there? Because honestly it’s your word against the word of vets who were actually there.
Haven't seen this, but all US films about Normandy are the same - absolutely no mention of the fact that on the Eastern Front a FAR bigger blow was meted out to the Germans, costing them over 600k casualties (operation Bagration), also in Normandy completely ignoring the fact that the Canadians and British took the brunt of any elite German resistance, most notably around Cannes...But hey, why spoil the john wayne tradition of invincibility and total disregard for anyone else...looking at the trailer this will be a film where 4 US soldiers will be mowing down division after division, let's see if it tops the idiotic ending of "Fury" - go team America! :-)

Sorry guys, the Normandy area was not a forested area. It was hedgerows and fields.
Sorry guy, but there are many forests in Normandy, they cover about 40%, or 4,600 square miles of the terrain.
