This song... and many of these comments hit me hard. My wife and I and our 4 kids recently lost our beloved home to the Lahaina Hi fires. That home was the center of our lives... full of love and laughter along with every earthly possession, musical instrument , and heirloom we've ever owned including our workshop, chicken coop, 1950 airstream, and nine 70y/o mighty mango trees (and the treehouses that resided within them. Was a 10 year long labor of love resurrecting the old stone and fir plantation house built directly after WW2 to its former glory. That home saw 3 of our kids born and watched them grow up. It now lies in ash and rubble but our babies hand prints remain in the slab of what was once my wife's magical pottery studio where she gave free lessons to kids from all over the islands. I know one day we will feel centered again and we are so thankful to have each other safe and sound, but for now we feel lost and my goodness does it hurt. Blessings and love to all who have lost their family home to whatever circumstances.
Some people just do not realize how much a former home affects you... This song just speaks to me..... The house "I grew up in" no longer exists because of a fire.. I would return there in a heartbeat if I could..
