So was this just a test of the caravan system? Because it didnt look like you packed a lot of stuff into it, you could have just carried that amount of items in your materials bags right? There wasn't any money made through this correct?
Correct, Yeah I state at the end that it definitely wasn't worth for the amount I packed. I was interested to test and see what was involved from start to finish at this stage in the Alpha. And to show that to those who may be interested.
How did you pack the crates initially? It seemed like you were able to just open them in your inventory at the end to unpack. I just made 1 small box this last weekend, but it wasnt able to open it to do any packing
Oh ok, so yeah you can either buy a crate form a crate vendor next to the caravan master or make your own at the wood work shop craft table. Either talking to a caravan master or a storage NPC / Bank, there is a tab for Cargo. You can right click on a crate to access it's inventory and put what items you want in. Once it is "packed" and "sealed" you can't open it until you successfully transport it through a caravan and get it opened by a caravan master on the end destination, it takes 5 minutes to unpack. This is my understanding i could be wrong. Additionally, for crates that may be looted or found in the world form attacked caravans, you can only open them with a "crowbar", this can be purchased I believe for a bit of 3 silver from the crates merchant next to the caravan master. I'm unsure if you can use this on your own crates, as the item description does say something along the lines of " used to open crates found in the world " I hope this helps! If you have any other questions please let me know!!
So it depends on the size of the crate, with the small crates they are 3 by 3. and you can store three crates in this caravan. Other caravans may allow for more crates to be stored. And larger crates will allow for more resources.
@@grifter22840 I packed the crates :) Each crate had 20 ash wood and 2 processed granite blocks. For the amount I packed, wasn't worth doing in a caravan. As I could easily carry it my self. But was just to test.

How many wood did you package in the startling town?
I would like to know if caravans are a way to multiply resources

@@Razzagon Did you pack the crates or were empty crates loaded into the caravan and magically spawn resources at the destination?
