I'd like to know what year is that car. When I changed my RAV4 fluid I used a graduated translucent bucket that I got from the paint department of Lowe's. I drained the fluid and let it cool to room temp. then I added back into the transmission that measured amount. I can't believe how much more expensive the Mazda fluid is over the Toyota fluid.
@@theartofthereel455 it’s a 2014. I definitely wasn’t expecting the fluid to be that much but if it’s only once every few years I guess it ain’t too bad.
@@bradbowles1153 😂 yea I think that’s probably the plan so you’ll go and buy a new one. But I prefer to keep the fluid changed and get 300,000 miles 🤷♂️👌
@@therookiesplaybook if it was something tricky then sure I’d agree but in this case, if they can’t take a bolt out and put it back in or figure out the most basic things like taking the airbox lid off etc without someone showing them exactly how to do it, then they don’t need to be attempting to change their transmission fluid in the first place lol This wasn’t meant to be a super detailed video. It’s for people who have basic automotive and tool knowledge but who’ve never done it before. Which obviously isn’t you lol
@@Gear_Banger How does someone learn to do their own maintenance without clear explanation? You can't create a how to video and then be like if you don't know how to do it you shouldn't be trying to learn.
@ I mean I have step by step instructions. Like remove these bolts and pull the air box up etc. it’s pretty much common sense. I’m not gonna video taking every single bolt out and putting every single one in. It would make the video way too long. Anybody with basic knowledge of tools and some common sense can figure out the simple stuff
@@Gear_Banger If you don't think it's important to show every bolt and what wrench is required and how to do everything correctly, you shouldn't be making how to videos.
@@therookiesplaybook this is maintenance, it’s not like you’re doing a head gasket lol. If you need those kinds of instructions then you don’t have enough sense to be doing the work yourself and should just take it to someone to be done.. also I quite frankly mentioned the size of a socket which was mostly all 10mm several times in the video so idk what you’re even talking about
Very helpful, thanks for posting and sharing this, you've saved me a big garage bill 👍👍👍
@@triumphrider230 no problem, glad it helped 👍🏼
Good video with the right info. One thing, check fluid in neutral as usual? Thanks
@@rafterL78 yes. But it doesn’t vary that much in park from my experience
Nice. I will be using this guide soon to do the same thing.
How did the new gasket work? Any leaks?
@@richbinaz haven’t had any yet. Gonna check again after another 1,000 or so miles when I do an oil change and make sure again but so far so good 👍🏼

Can you check your links. They don't seem to work for me.
@@theartofthereel455 yea for some reason it’s just going to Amazon but not the actual product, I’m trying to fix it.
They do have lifetime fluid. If the transmission fails at 100,000 miles that is the lifetime. 😂

@ I’m milking a 2012 Subaru Forester trying to keep it going. I’ve changed the ATF twice since I bought it in 2017.
When you're showing how to take apart things in your engine you can not skip past actually doing it. The video is completely useless as a how to.
