Love it Takes me back 40 something years ago When I put together a 140 Got some parts sent to me here in Australia and locally sourced stuff including the transaxle and put it in my 76 Kombi So I can feel your excitement with each part of your engine that you lovingly hold in anticipation of assembly Love the show Regards Brian
What beatiful engine and work. I just bought a 61 Corvair to restore and I liked the csrburetors you used. Is the manifolds hard to find? Could you help me where find a set. Thankyou and good luck . Alex from Brasil.
That is going to be one sweet build ! Are You going to put in a high volume oil pick up with a high volume oil pump ? I would use silicone gaskets instead of cork ! Thanks for sharing the video on your build , Glad You caught that single strand of wire .
When you assembled the bottom end, did you use Plastigage or something like that to make sure the Main bearings were properly sized for the crank in the case? (I've built a number of old VW's and needed Plastigage to make sure mains were properly. It was a pain.) Are you using a vintage GM Shop Manual for guidance? Thanks - John
I’m sorry that you told us about a bunch of stuff that you were going to do. Just show yourself doing the work while you talk about it. Otherwise it is just parts laying around and some guy pointing at stuff.
Love it

Yes Clark’s is where I’ve gotten just about everything the compressor is designed for the reverse rotation the rest of the system is from vintage air
Question Al did you block off the open hole by number five ?
Ohh ya that’s been done for a while thx for the reminder people have trouble with number five

Yes I put in a fresh high volume one and I definitely agree on silicone gaskets
Yes I had my crank polished and miked and allowing me to use standard bearings
OEM Corvair Turbo mufflers were not glasspacks.

Often overlooked I’m good
When you go to install your AC system I highly recommend you take a look at what is available from Clark's Corvair Parts.
With the Webers Clark’s doesn’t fit I’m gonna try an electric compressor I have everything else from Vintage Air
Be cautious of aftermarket rockers if made in China. They are known to break. Several in my club have been down that road. Poor quality steel.
I got mine from Clarks and haven’t heard of any issues
I’m looking for intake manifolds like you use for the triple webers. Do you have a source? Thanks
did you make those headers? looks great!
