I agree, 100% about Peak Refuel meals, they are all excellent in terms of flavor & the quality of ingredients they use. No fillers, No PVC, No artificial coloring. For my taste buds, Peak Refuel are head & shoulders more flavorful AND a better price value than any other brand.
Peak Refuel meals are more than I can comfortably consume at one meal so I open the foil pouch at home & weigh out to TWO equal freeze dried portions & put them in a 1QT Freezer ziplok baggie, then write on the baggie the meal & the quantity of water I must add.
Too much heat is lost in those foil pouches during the re-hydration.
I've made my own Koozies to fit around my Toaks Titanium cup which has fill levels stamped into the sides of their cups. Those Koozies retain the heat so I'm able to enjoy a HOT HOT meal right down to the last sporkfull.
I boil water in my cup, then place it back into its Koozie. I then pour the freeze-dried contents into the cup of boiling water. Because the cup & water temperatures are so much hotter, I find my meals are completely re-hydrated after the recommended time.
Try it, pour the freeze dried contents into a Koozie covered cup of hot boiling water instead of pouring hot boiling water into that foil pouch it comes in.
    Yes, I "liked" & subscribed.
    Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada.

Its funny you say that because as of recently I've really been noticing a lot of different brands and meals have this problem. You get the amount of water correct but the meal isn't hydrating properly before the temperature comes down. Awesome and accurate observation. Thank You
