GT canon is... yes debated, but it is canon. Even if it follows its own timeline that doesn't mean it isn't canon, multiverse does not make something canon or not canon. Toriyama was more involved than people give credit for with GT. That and he did like GT and its direction with his brand. unlike Hollywoods Dragon Ball which is what pushed him to come back to Dragon Ball and tell a new story, it was so bad Toriyama bounced out of retirement. Especially when Toriyama did consider it canon didn't he? Might be misremembering but recall him saying Super is still going to end at the Peaceful World Saga, which was end of Z, and would thus still lead into the 10 year jump into GT.

Even more proof of this is that Cooler is in his final form, rather than his Metal Cooler form. We have seen robots go to the afterlife, so if the events of Return of Cooler were canon to GT, he would be metal Cooler. GT has always been considered canon, even by Toriyama himself, and has always been canon to Z. Even if it's a separate timeline, that does not make it uncanon, that's just an alternate timeline. Just because the events may not happen for Super, doesn't mean it isn't canon, nor that the events still aren't possible in Super's timeline. Especially again if Cooler were to return, to Super just like Broly. Now one may argue its canon is more for Z while Z Kai's in line with Super, but that doesn't make GT any more or less canon especially if one understands multiverse and/or parallel timelines. Which has been a thing ever since Future Trunks popped in after Namek blew up.
just because someone other than the original author worked on something doesn't make something non-cannon. the owners of the franchise decide that. as an example, since toriyama wasn't the sole owner any one of those owners can say what is canon if given such ability and in dragon balls case they were. this is something that applies to all franchises. i'm not here to argue whether or not heroes or gt are canon because honestly i don't care that much. what annoys me is people falsely claiming everything that is not created by the original author as non cannon because as i stated that's not how it works when it comes to franchises with multiple owners. unless directly stated as cannon or non-cannon.

If the tragic passing of Akira Toriyama didn’t happen, people would not appreciate Dragon Ball Daima as much, but due to his passing people has appreciated Dragon Ball Daima even more.

A way for shin and kibito to become merged again is if they wished to the demon world dragon to return their bodies to a specific time (like, ”return our bodies to how they were after majin buu was defeated”, or make a wish like, “return our bodies to how there were 10-20 days ago” or whatever the in show time is for them to gather all of them instead of just asking for the wish like, “reverse the effects of the wish gomah made”. It could cause the dragon to reverse Shin and Kibito to their merged state instead of just making them adult and unmerged.
@danditheyesman848 nope, either it's different for hybrids or that's the same trunks. Cuz this is cannon now for saiyans. And goten looks the same in both. So it's prolly just a character design change.
@@NovaViper-x7m whether is canon or not it doesn't matter, it's still inconsistency. This is not really a change of design as even in dbs we have a flashback where shows a 14 years old future trunks look older than his present counterpart. And then they couldn't find a better excuse so they came out with the bs of sayians grow suddenly once they reach a certain age.
@@danditheyesman848obviously it’s an oversight of the charter designs. But they gave reasons why they stayed small. Gohan says saiyans stay small and then hit a big growth spurt. Also their environment are different Future Trunks grew in a harsh environment cause him to fight for his life since he was young. While goten and trunks lived during peace no reason for them to fight.
I like it being canon, since it makes there be a few more steps in challenges between when they're fighting buu, and when they're fighting literal gods. So even if everyone got weakened, the small bit of experience they gain makes the powerscaling jump slightly more believable (even if not by much)
Theory after This series is over everyone is turned back into adults and they forget everything that has happened Which would allow Super to take place after and they have no memory of Daima and continue with super
Daima is just a few episodes in and is already better than super. It’s been so long since Dragon Ball had that adventurous feeling, I love it. Exploring a new realm, mysteries about the db universe, and toning down the power levels makes for a more enjoyable story
Shin and kabito are going to have to refuse, if the story ends with the two unfused it will cause a problem in the stories continuity making daima not canon.
@DarkHeartTheEmo he also didnt make the hole thing for super or daima. He gave a plot outline and let toei and his protégé fill in the gaps. That's why why anime is so different than the manga. He also didn't make all of diama And GT is awesome.
@drybonesmunchakoopas5143 He did everything for Super that are because because the anime decide to keep going before the Manga was done, they were both at the same time, but at sometimes the Manga was late so Toei have to make episode that weren't in the Manga, if they had wait, he would got the same from the Manga, and GT suck, I see that anime a couple of times and barely remember what happen there, that are animes I see less but I at least can remembet what happen.

the only thing that would make someone think is non canon is because Bu's insides undo the fusion... but it can just undo the potara fusion without retconing anything else. plus, super's manga and anime are different continuities, so we can say kibitokai de-fused with the namekian dragon balls in the manga while they defused with buu's help in the anime
But it's the anime where they defused using the Namekian Dragon Balls, I don't know if that was changed later on in the Manga. But this can easily be fixed by having them fused again and making the wish with the Dragon Balls instead of unfuse them
Especially it is right after his canon material of dragon ball z as it kind of-ish states in the intro of dragon ball daimas intro. Including the references.
Toriyama was involved in GT he played it and his successors was who worked on it as well as he did kid Goku pan and Trunks he also liked super Saiyan 4 and gave it the green light even drawing his own one to give the green light to toyotaro

@@Songokulight2467 DBZ never ended after the Buu Saga. DBGT was a sequel which was a different continuity DBS was a sequel and a different continuity with like 3 separate continuities in it. And DBD is just another continuity but 1 year after the Buu Saga. There is no canon and will be no canon, there will just be new continuities.
I really dislike misinformation, especially when creators like yourself put it out like it's a fact. GT and the Z movies are canon just like Daima and Super. GT is an official sequel to the original Z anime, and GT is on multiple official timelines even in the official DragonBall guidebooks. There is 0 evidence pointing to GT not being canon. Z movies are the same way and are canon to GT's story. Heroes, however, isn't canon because it's a promotional anime and contradicts both GT and Super. There are multiple continuities in DragonBall, and when I mean multiple, I mean a lot. If people actually watched Super, they would notice Super uses clips from Z Kai making Super canon to Kai, not the original Z. GT, however, is a direct sequel to Z to say GT isn't canon is like saying the original Z isn't either. If you are going to spread information about DragonBall, please actually know about the topic first.
Only certain Z movies are canon through some continuity in GT , since Toriyama said he sees them as happening in a different dimension from the main comic . But he declared GT " a grand side story of original dragon ball " which absolutely makes it canon , other than being shown in daima trailer itself in the montage of previous series leaving only z movies and heroes . Its just weird how it's not just no official backing on the non canon theory for GT , but outright refusal from all official sides , yet people keep trying to make it non canon , it doesn't matter if he didn't come up with a lot of it he still appreciated enough with " if it was this kind of story , i'd want to continue the serial manga " specifically about Goku being a kid again the most controversial thing , no wonder he called it part of original dragon ball and brought back the turned into kid thing again .
@humanman9920 In episode 42 of GT, we see Cooler and GT Goku knows the Dragon fist. Vegeta knows the fusion dance, and there are multiple movie characters in that movie. Garlic Jr. is in the original Z anime. Paragus was in Fusion Reborn, so Broly to. Lord Slug minons in Fusion Reborn to. 8 movies are guaranteed you can reasonably add return of Cooler, making it 9 out of the original 13 safe to say yeah, GT has them all. I'm sorry this is so long, BTW lol. Like I said, there is 0 evidence supporting GT being non canon. Facts can be proven, and implying GT as not canon as a fact without evidence is blatantly incorrect. GT, Super, and Daima are all side stories that exist within different continuities. Toriyama saying the Z movies exist within a different dimension proves different continuities exist. Daima and Super both contradict the original manga and Z. If anything is canon, it's only the original manga.
That’s not how canon works. You can’t say “it’s in a different universe or timeline but it’s canon.” The films and GT were never written by Toriyama. The true canon is DB DBZ DBS DB Daima. With daima taking place before super but a year after the defeat of Buu.
@neoPeake Battle of Gods and Resurrection F was not written by Akira Toriyama. Dbs is co-written by Toriyama and Toyotarou. The entirety of the Black Frieza saga has 0 input from him. Therefore , your logic isn't canon. Toriyama has had involvement with GT and all the movies and are canon. You have 0 evidence to say otherwise.
The Dragonball community is the only fandom that cares so much what the canonical flow of the series that it effects enjoyment of something. Who cares if daima is canon or not. It’s a very welcome addition to dragonball
Just because you don't like gt does not make it not canon. The Manga, the anime, the movies and even gt are all different continuites, but are canon. The company that made gt had the legal rights and Toriyama best wishes. It's even still on the official time line.
@brotherdosco5552 they are 100 percent canon to dragon ball series and by main story you mean what the general audience feels is canon. There different continuites and if toriyama sold the rights at that time, then they could of made gt about gokus bathroom breaks and it would still be canon, exactly like it's canon what Disney does with star wars regardless if another company in the future buys the rights and decides to take it in a totally different direction. That's the objective truth. Toriyama even copied ideas from this said company that had legal rights to what happened in that series. It's their artistic inadequacy for not articulating better to the audience the reasoning for these continuites, but because of trunks time machine, it's easily possible to have different continuites other wise you have a ton of wasted material.
@GamingBoy0422 they way I look at either it'd different continuites and the movies also take place in different time lines or there not as good as artist people make them out to be. It's like if a hired Paninter messed up parts of the houses pattern you paid for and everyone said it was a genius painter. He re did bardock too and made him more moral. Obviously toriyama did not just sold the canon rights during gt, but also liked it enough to use their ideas. You don't need a fbi profiler to determine if gt was so bad it needed to be erased that toriyama would not of said " hey guys ignore that part it doesn't mean anything to the series ". He openly said they had his blessing and inspired him. Yes the story is convoluted at times, but that just how it is and I think it's much better to have different continuites and properly give them all their place no nothing is wasted. That's time and money.
People forget that Super also started off with small Toriyama involvement so some of the explanations aren't cannon in Super but Daima gives the actual cannon reason to certain plot holes
Too bad Toriyama didn't make an individual page that shows panels of GT, Super, and Daima. Then we see Goku wake up in Uub's village and he says he was having weird dreams.
People need to stop acting like the man isn’t the literal author and creator of the series. He was involved heavily with broly and superhero which are both cannon. Both happening in the manga as well further confirmed that. It’s not hard to connect how when toriyama isn’t heavily involved with or behind a db project it often is highly contradictory to previous material or just outright bad. If the man was working on it it’s cannon
@@Wizofmincraft bro, the man constantly forgot what was canon and what wasn't. He was involved in almost all movies. The amount of his involvement doesn't measure the canonicity of the anime and movies.
Yeah because Gt is cannon, never mind its just the time skip at the end of DBZ that is cannon, never mind DBZ BOG and Resurection F are cannon, never mind Dragon ball super is cannon and also the manga is a separate cannon, never mind these both are filler and the cannon is Daima. See a pattern? toriyama doesn't respect the word cannon anymore and just uses it to sell his product.
@@174Anime Gt wasn’t toriyama’s idea and was only made for the sake of toei making more money. He worked on super actively including the movies whereas he didn’t for gt

@@Titancameramanedits-y1i bro, first of all is very obvious, second of all, we aren't time travelers, we don't know what happens at the end of the series.
Toriyama himself declared it canon . " GT is a grand side story of *original dragon ball* " meaning he didn't come up with it but it infact happened as a part of original dragon ball .
It's only weird because the implication is that whatever happens in Daima (training/fighting) somehow didn't power any of these characters up at all since between Buu and Super the characters stayed basically the same...
At first i was against dragon ball daima but after have watched the first episode it completely changed my mind about the series, Indeed one of the best series ever 2024
it's not just a question of being separated differently, but also the fact that it happened before it should, since they were fused when beerus came to earth, and Daima is before that, so it's not that it can't be canon just that if it is then super won't be
In episode 10 supreme kai talked about multiverse and highest authority in the universe also the creation of multiverse in from of goku and vejita, now in super how can they be surprised to know about multiverse and how come zeno sama is there
I feel like they’re gonna possibly make the shin and kibito separation explanation that happened in super still work by having something happen in daima, erasing everyone’s memories of the events that happened in the show entirely
akira been said he don't like the term canon with his wokr but yall americans still use it like it been a multiversal series since he added trunks like they already said it's a spin off series it own thing just for the 40th anniversary of dragon ball
In Daima they said they had Buu swallow them and spit them back out as 2 separate beings and even stated the same happened to Vegito when swallowed by Buu but in Super it was explained that Goku and Vegeta separated because they aren't Kai's and Shin and Kibito had to use the Nemekian Dragonballs to separate. Also the clothing in flashbacks of Daima is different colored and styled so it looks like we definitely have another GT situation
@crestofhonor2349 Except GT Toei Said Its Canon But In Other Timeline But The Z Movies Are Actually Filler (Uncanon) And There Is Some DB,Z,GT And Super Filler Episodes
At first it was announced it was a spin off series but now it's not confirmed being a side show nor canon. Plus Akira didn't throw around canon events so loosely
Akira Toriyama said it’s up to the fans to decide on what’s considered canon and non canon. I think the fans care more about plot holes and timelines making sense more than Akira Toriyama ever did. We accept multiverses from other franchises like Spider Man but for some reason most draw the line when it comes to Dragon Ball.
1: Its a fact while Toriyama was heavily into Daimas work. It didnt statt that way, only after he started giving advice did he become a main director. 2: This point is literally the same as point one. Toriyama wrote it, so its canon unlike the other 2 is the argument. 3: A few noncanon movies also have points in time they could be placed, having a chronological order doesnt mean much, when technically GT takes places after the last episode of Z, it too has a place in the timeline. Idk bro, that last, misc point is a pretty big chasm to me. They expressed displeasure in using Porunga to defuse, the only way to make it make sense is for some random reason they Potara and forget about Buu.
We are so close to the end of z. The super hero movie happens 1 year before it. Hopefully they continue the story where they left off after Daima ends... one of my main complaints about the show is that we are going back in the story.
Trunks birthday is how you know where it left off? Not the beginning part where they literally watched him kill Majin buu and turned them into kids because of it? Lol
So then is there or is there not any official canon? So many videos and people I talk to say that everything is canon or that there are different canons. Now you are saying that there is only 1 official canon? It’s so confusing.

I wonder if Daima is (or will give) the reason Goten and Trunks stayed so small throughout super? Maybe the events of Daima stunted their growth
They gave it in EP 1. Saiyans grow from kids to adults biologically at age 15.
@@NovaViper-x7mfuture trunks at 14 look older than kid trunks during the Top, despite being the same age. This is just dragonball super inconsistency
Dragonball super had many issues and one these is that they forgot to age some characters.
So even if everyone got weakened, the small bit of experience they gain makes the powerscaling jump slightly more believable (even if not by much)
Akira Toriyama is a legend!
I like the choice of where in the db timeline they put it because it's really interesting and I wonder what the reason is

They’ll probably use the English dub for international release
Yeah tv in japan

Daima is just a few episodes in and is already better than super. It’s been so long since Dragon Ball had that adventurous feeling, I love it. Exploring a new realm, mysteries about the db universe, and toning down the power levels makes for a more enjoyable story
Shin and kabito are going to have to refuse, if the story ends with the two unfused it will cause a problem in the stories continuity making daima not canon.

The best thing about daima is that it gives the future of dbs a lot of material. The db multiverse is expanded.
Akira made the character designs and bassic plot out line for GT having it be goku and looking for the dragonballs on various worlds with their ship
But he didn't make the whole thing, he only sell the idea everything else was Toei doing and besides GT isn't that great.
@DarkHeartTheEmo he also didnt make the hole thing for super or daima. He gave a plot outline and let toei and his protégé fill in the gaps. That's why why anime is so different than the manga.
He also didn't make all of diama
And GT is awesome.

It is, of course!
Daima is so good, the best thing db franchise (excluding broly film) has done since gt

It has changed it's course from being canon to Super's story
GT and Z movies aren't canon at all just like all the filler in DBZ isn't canon

Just because you don't like gt does not make it not canon. The Manga, the anime, the movies and even gt are all different continuites, but are canon. The company that made gt had the legal rights and Toriyama best wishes. It's even still on the official time line.
It’s not about not liking them, they’re just not canon to the main dragon ball story.
@@AntiWhiteOutno it isn't lol. By that logic every dbz movie and heroes are all canon to the main storyline lol.
@@AntiWhiteOutalso we're not gonna pretend that broly had his character re written from toriyama lol.

Nah it feels like a cheap GT ripoff honestly.
So now Daima and Super are in between Buu saga and End of Z. Unfortunately, the Supreme Kai split is still questioned
I feel like they’re gonna possibly make the shin and kibito separation explanation that happened in super still work by having something happen in daima, erasing everyone’s memories of the events that happened in the show entirely
So a cop out then instead of actually explaining a loop hole
akira been said he don't like the term canon with his wokr but yall americans still use it like it been a multiversal series since he added trunks like they already said it's a spin off series it own thing just for the 40th anniversary of dragon ball
I mean the flashbacks only look different due to modern art style and animation techniques

My theory is that by the end of the series everyone memories will be wiped out as part of the new king agreement or something along those lines

It'd be hilarious if Shin and Kibito fuse again only to defuse a second time
R.I.P. Uub. You are lost but not forgotten. Except when it comes to Akira Toriyama.

Lol
