What exactly is charming on a dry rock? Almost no vegetation, too hot to go biking. Even too warm for hiking. The small villages, though, are very nice.
@@sonntagskindlein I always thought charming meant pleasant , delightful, beautiful etc. You obviously did not see the waterfront, coastal views or the hotel backdrop and surroundings! @@johncopeland3826 You have been talking about the islands, which includes their nature, but not the sea around them. Looking at an entire island it‘s a dry rock. The thing I like about Gabriel is, is his videos are so easy to watch. He takes on the journey with him, it's never, Oh look at me, it's always about the city/town/forest/island he is visiting. This island looks a great little spot to get away from it all.
Gabriel really you should be a honorary citizen of Greece. Thanks again for your fantastic Greek island series. What an amazing island Tilos is. I've never been there ❤️ from 🇬🇷
All the small islands you have shown are so clean. Don't see any rubbish strewn around. Even the water in the bay looked clean with no garbage floating around. Thumbs up to the civic authorities who maintain the public places..
That's the same hotel I stayed in when I toured the Dodecanese in 2019. It was even better value then - 160 euros for the week, including breakfast. I liked Tilos a lot - the clear water, the warm breezes, the relaxed pace. There's a bus leaves the little town square in Livadia every morning for Megali Chora and the northern end of the island. I took it several times to get to Eristos Beach - it's a big picturesque bay, and I had it nearly all to myself every time I went. Like you, Greece is my favorite place. I've been traveling Europe over the summer for the last decade (though not 2020 or 21), currently in the Canary Islands, but will be back in Greece next month. Can't wait.
Thank you Gabriel for this video. I grew up on the island of Samos but I live in Australia now. I missed all the sounds and smells of Greece, like church bells ringing, the cicadas and the friendly people. Very much appreciate everything you do
I visited Tilos many many years ago and stayed up in the old village. It was really rustic, and wonderful. Its an island I keep on meaning to return to. Just very relaxed
Hello, Gabriel. Making Horiatiki Salad tonight for myself and my wife as it's so hot here in England. Greek food is my favourite. Good audio. Those insect sounds - at first they're scary; after a while they're not, bit Eraserhead. Love it man 👍👍

If you're still there when you read this please make sure to visit Megalo Horio and Mikro Horio which are inland. Mikro Horio is actually an abandoned village which I think you'd find interesting. Also there's a museum about dwarf elephants in Megalo Horio and a cave nearby where they were found. It wasn't open to the public (the cave) when I was there but it's been many years.
You need to go to next Village called Megalo Chorio. There is a medieval castle on top built by the knights of st. john. There is also a monestary on the other side of the island called St. pantelemion. There are great hiking and trails on this tiny island.
