I'm so struck by Kody's apparent real character: He's mean and unwilling to do the work of fixing a messy marriage, exhibits no kindness or gentleness; he must control all that happens without fair discussion. When we marry, we're usually young and soon have children. We nurture them into their young adulthood. It's at this point that they'll likely leave the home and mom and dad are now faced with themselves alone together in unknown roles. Kody seemed fine with young wives and young children but wasn't able to grow with the wives as they found their "new" selves after the children left. Unable to deal with that, he lashed out at them for not following his orders or for any reason. It became his new modis operandi. It became more difficult to watch because he was always angry and actually left me a little stressed. The children will be fine and the exiting wives will determine their new lives. I feel badly for Robyn because she seems trapped with a man who is angry and unhappy.

I'm so struck by Kody's apparent real character: He's mean and unwilling to do the work of fixing a messy marriage, exhibits no kindness or gentleness; he must control all that happens without fair discussion.
When we marry, we're usually young and soon have children. We nurture them into their young adulthood. It's at this point that they'll likely leave the home and mom and dad are now faced with themselves alone together in unknown roles. Kody seemed fine with young wives and young children but wasn't able to grow with the wives as they found their "new" selves after the children left. Unable to deal with that, he lashed out at them for not following his orders or for any reason. It became his new modis operandi. It became more difficult to watch because he was always angry and actually left me a little stressed. The children will be fine and the exiting wives will determine their new lives. I feel badly for Robyn because she seems trapped with a man who is angry and unhappy.
