Brilliant mix I'm 39 so I used to go all the big clubs in Birmingham back in the 90s Bakers, miss money penny's, tin tins, wobble etc and this is a brilliant mix. Well done👍
I have downloaded this mix and listened to it hundreds of times, I'm from Birmingham where Kudos and DV8 where the clubs that played baseline, just want to say thank you this mix is amazing and I'm listening to it now to go out Bassline forever peace and live from cornwall x
Sheffield here, the home of Speed Garage and Bassline. From The Niche (Big Shout going out to Dj Naughty Nick) to The Rise (Ledmill possie) all the way up to more recently The Tank. Speed Garage forever ❤ And if She could drop an old school Speed Garage set at Y Not in a couple of weeks, we'd show you some love ha ha
When Kudos and DV8 were going it was the best time to be out on the clubbing scene. With ministry of sound, sundissential, kudos, The Gale and DV8 it was the best place to be for clubbing at the time. And it's never been beaten since in the UK. The whole vibe, fashion, dancing style and atmosphere was unmatched anywhere. I really miss those days.
Brings back amazing memories Hannah! Our group friends spent every moment we could in the canal club Wolverhampton, Barney played the loft there and just took us all to another place it was just amazing. I used to drive from mid Wales sometimes two or three times a week, on top of working six days.. Nearly reversed into the milkman one night as I was leaving my friends house to drive the rest of the way home on my way to grab a couple of hours sleep.. Such good times. We also went to the light bar and another bar I can't remember the name of, doormen had to ask us to get down off the tables we were dancing on! Anyway enough said, but they were the best of times. Thank you Adam
Oh yes! Back when it was 12 til 12, a tenner to get in, all they sold was bottled water and ice pops, you wore whatever you wanted and everyone was pilled up to fuck!
May be old school, but whatever, it sounds so wicked good. Go back in the day's is nothing wrong with, music lives 4ever! I started in the mid 90s, with loving House Music, and now i am addicted (lol).
This comment is so on point, I remember being bitten by this music also, in the mid 90's. Shit was so raw...it had this fresh & blooming pull on the hearts of all of us. I am so Lucky finding the fabulous nectar of the dancefloor...such an accidental relationship with the dancefloor..but I feel like more & more the population on earth isn't having such formative experiences like we all did who had that opportunity....to grow & find ourselves from the plephora of opportunities that the late 90's - early 2000's bloomed out 🫀🫶🫀Much much love from Pacific NorthWest (Seattle) 🫀🫶🫀
Gatecrasher followed by Niche. Some of the best nights of my life. Thanks for joggin' those memories. Love ya! You and Beyer are the cream that has risen to the top...
Subway city also my mate from school davey boy of echo records got me interested in speedgarge as my music of choice well obsession was hard house still is but I got really into speedgarge also for a good few years good to have a few different genres as a dj I loved the speedgarge vibe in brum oh the memories, gonna have a mix now ,take care x
amazing mix, perfectly timed and you haven't forgotten your midlands roots! speed garage originated from the midlands watched you LA mixmag mix also awesome, hope your enjoying life x
The West End Bar was wicked, dark & shady but brilliant at the same time, the choons Ric James used to pump out there were something else ! After he got to know us, I used to drive him around, record shopping, taking him places, carrying flight cases. He introduced us to some interesting people, never forget what he did for us & a proper bloke you could trust. Good times 😎
Hey Hannah, greetings from Germany...Speed Garage was a popular style in Duesseldorf around 1999 - 2001 ( especially for me XD ). liked it then and now, hard to find good mixes today, thanks for uploading... its much appreciated. Keep it up and have a good time.
It says this was posted 7 years ago and I don’t know how I missed this fantastic, euphoric mix. I am from Phoenix Arizona, USA, and we did have some speed garage in the day, but not quite what was in the British Isles. But I really relished what I could find. Thank you for making and posting this. ❤️
This was never popular in my corner of the world during this time, but I was a HUGE fan and had to seek a lot of this out. That's how i gravitated towards your sound, it just THROWS me back...thanks for just throwing down some great music. My ears and soul appreciate all you've been doin!
i think its cool that people from all over the world hear this music and like it, just out of question where are you from and hoe did you hear this type of music?
D4 Damage I'm from the US, i lived in Tallahassee Florida, when i started listening to this. Once i moved to Orlando, there was a bigger deep house scene but Orlando breaks ruled and garage was still yet to be embraced. I think it's actually being embraced more now than ever. So that's fun to see. I live in San Diego now and don't really go out much so I just listen to music that makes me happy :)
Hannah Wants, you are one of the best DJ's i've heard. This mix is ace, and im quite in love with with Speed Garage/ Bassline House and Organ House / Deep House, myself :D
@@ArcadeCabNBud your only jealous... Birmingham was the city to be in from mid 90s all the way up to 2011..if you've never been to the Q-club for one of the many events..have you really lived at all 😅👊 ( only joking )
