Another great video🎉. One of these days i will catch you out in the wild and maybe pick up on some of those skills you have honed in on over the years. Always enjoy these videos.
These are great. As long as they turn, there are about three or four features that make me want them over other trucks. The wheelbase, the bushings/kingpin, and the baseplate shaped for nose slides etc.
I ordered the orange 8.75. We will see how a not good skater skates them. The proof will be if I can learn backside grinds on them. I have never Ollie into a backside grind. I think I am going to go narrow wheelbase with them on an 8.63 Opera board and 53mm X95 Bones wheels. It should be interesting.
Don’t call yourself a not good skateboarder you got a really good heel flip a good front nose slide and a lot of hard tricks. I think a bigger size like that would really feel comfortable.
very Interesting. Would be good to see how they are with trucks that fit the board better because that can change how they turn pretty dramatically. Tbh I'm down with a slightly inbuilt groove
@@anglegrinder4630 I don’t know about better but I have skated an 8.25 truck on a 8.5 deck and really enjoyed it, although 8.5 trucks are my favourite for stability/weight. I skate an 8.38 most of the time
When they first announced, I asked about the height and they replied 55mm tall, which is the same as stock Indy’s. Not sure is that’s accurate according to your measurement in hand. Would they fit on Slappy low plates? Might be fun to see as that may lower them.
I was a hardcore skater in the 90s and GK was in all the mags like transworld and sidewalk surfer my friend skated them and they where super light and could open beer bottles in the baseplate. Are the like indys in the place or thunders ? Also nose slide does the plate touch like ventures or not like thunders. Ty
hope they make some lower ones eventually. those look super tall to me. i really think the groove shouldnt bump up at the wheel but just go straight. i know they toned them down last minute but i dont like it. i think a good innovation would be a slightly shorter axle and skinny axle nuts so they dont stick out of the wheel as much. some magnesium ones would be nice too
I could see these being amazing for mini ramp and bowls.... Im with you though, im going to need these to come out in a 9" or above version, because my smallest board is 9.125".... but im super interested in them.
I wanted to grab a pair on the second pre-sale but it was on my birthday and I just had too much going on and forgot. I really hope they go up on the website again soon
@@MichaelRelevant i'm always gassing up grindking. but i only have 50 subs 😭 i have some g5 highs and 2 sets of g6 or g7s from '90s-'00s, several other trucks with gk kingpins, and 20yo stock gk bushings in my 30yo ventures on my primary setup. $90 is kinda steep, i might try the disruptors instead. rocketbolts seem sick, i like that the heads are stars
@@MichaelRelevant i mean if they can get it, good for them. people seem stoked on them, i hope the price doesn't turn them away. it'll probably come down whenever they get cracking on production. there is def a lot of tech in them, proprietary axles and whatnot, so i can see the need to charge more.
They look like they would slip to the sides on tricks like straight balanced nose grinds and 5-0's. Why did they make them arched in the middle an not flat?
Please weight them and measure 📐 the height I’m dying to know. For reference convert the inches measurement to millimeters that’s the industry standard measurement for height. Independent standards are 55mm Independent forged hollows 53.5mm Indy Mids are 52mm high on the Tiago model and 50mm on the Reynolds Hollow Mids Venture standards are 53.5mm Thunder standards are 52mm Ace Af1s are 53mm Ace af1 lows 49mm I don’t know the exact heights for slappy and the new slappy lows or the new slappy lights with the lower baseplate.
I do like different things, my trucks are blue, my wheels are pink with green swirls, i did like graphic grip tape but i lately tried black magic and i dont think im going away from it, but my previous boards had graphic grip tape, idk i like "different" and "flashy" but i have to really like it otherwise ill ignore it
I'm not too sure if I like the look of the trucks for all the angles and cutaways, but any competition and innovation is good because the big companies are just way too stagnant with their designs...
I skate low, a 47mm tall truck and when I try any other truck I feel unstable 😂, the lockers look pretty tall but it looks like something I would skate disregarding the height, but I'm just saying, I would like a low truck for 7.5 - 8.0 board
@MichaelRelevant I do appreciate the evolution. First new platform since the San Diego stainless steel trucks from the Early nineties. I loved those and the Gullwing Super-Pro Three from that era.

They turned better than the disruptors for sure. I’ll have another video about the turning. I took the bushings and switched them around.
Trucks look awesome, can't wait try a pair.
They look like a cyber truck 🤮

@MichaelRelevant I have been on an 8.38. good for somethings, not for others. If I can get everything on the 8.6 I may just stay around there.
I generally like raw trucks, but I liked the black disruptors. I think the colors look good too
I miss the steel trucks from San Diego.
anything that makes me wanna be outside and skate more is a win and i definitely wanna try these out, when will they be easy to buy?
I heard they ship out in February.
very Interesting. Would be good to see how they are with trucks that fit the board better because that can change how they turn pretty dramatically. Tbh I'm down with a slightly inbuilt groove
Yeah, I will try them on different decks in the future.
@averageskater900 so is trucks smaller than deck width better ?

@averageskater900 you think on 8.38 deck 8.25 is better or 8.5?cause i have an 8.3 coming,im no pro though
The look is growing on me
Seriously I gotta get some,(to not grind yet)
Because the color isn’t ruining it. It’s like a car with many curves and details, plain paint in this case looks better. These trucks should stay Raw.
@18JR78 they will be raw if I buy them
@@anglegrinder4630 same here. I hope GK is taking notes haha. They are limiting their sales otherwise.
Also, that new indoor park is amazing, glad you are enjoying it!
can't wait for mine to come in, got on the first tier kickflipper launch 🙏🔥

Yea but that baseplate is so sick on these
@ true
GK were always my favorite growing up they just felt great compared to everything else I tried. So I already know ima love em.
been waiting for these, I can't WAIT to get a pair in the spring! they're so cool looking, looooove the baseplate.

The base plate hits fine. It sticks out more than the thunders do. I can’t remember what ventures feel like on nose slides. Sort of like an Indy.

I think these trucks must be 57-59mm high. Weight must be 13+ ounces

What kind of blank deck is that? 😺
Make a 10 inch version please 🙏 grindking
Definitely
Second that plz 🙏
I wanted to grab a pair on the second pre-sale but it was on my birthday and I just had too much going on and forgot. I really hope they go up on the website again soon
I like my ace's with bones hard bushings ... indy hollows are too stiff for me so... should i even bother buying some
I think 8.25” trucks on an 8.75” deck would be fine with a wide enough wheel. I def used to ride 7.65” trucks on 8.25” deck
Yeah, it’s not bad at all. I have smaller decks I can use with them.
Yeah most if not all the reviews I’ve seen have been positive
Yeah, every review I’ve seen has been positive. We’ll get some -ones from the people who didn’t get free ones who had to actually pay for them.

Gullwing trucks abd!
Hahahaha for all those people that lock in right in the middle of the truck for 50-50s. So safe

Those look hideous n way too experimental
Scam
Hahaha what? What’s a scam? Like they won’t send you a product or something?
