It is worthwhile knowing what you could be saying as a memory aid. You could do something similar as you did formal and informal words. A lot of humour is based on confusing the context.

I don't think there is a single ฝรั่ง in พัทยา who knows how to pronounce พัทยา correctly. I also use 'g' for ก but most transliterations use 'k', which irritates me. Foreigners always pronounce เกาะ like Sebastian Coe's surname, but it sounds nothing like this. กาญจนบุรี is another interesting one. Good video.
