Source: Google=> WinGet is available on Windows 10 version 1809 (October 2018 Update) or later, and comes standard with Windows 10 May 2020 Update (version 2004) and later versions. It is also installed by default in Windows 11.
I am trying to get winget working on an organization's customized Windows11 for weeks. It is incredible how much other internal teams within an organization can do to make windows really hard to use.
The Microsoft.VSCode.Dsc resource failed to identify that VSCode was installed on my Windows 11 ARM virtual machine. I’ll open an issue on GitHub in the Microsoft/winget-dsc repository. The registry key in HKCU checked for VSCode being installed did not match the key present on my system.
tried with a fresly installed Windows 11 Pro OS and it doesnt recognize the file. Then I installed the Windows Package Manager from Github and afer that it recognized the file but when I double click on it, a message in red appears saying "The configuration unit was not in the module as expected.", for all 3 packages. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
The WinGet team was made aware of the bug and is getting the fix out ASAP. If you encountered this error, instructions will be provided to apply the fix. Any devices with WinGet 1.9 that have attempted to run a configuration using the Microsoft.WinGet.DSC module are likely to encounter this bug. Once the updated module has been published, the bug won't hit WinGet 1.9 users. github.com/microsoft/winget-cli/issues/4919
In addition to the other reply, he actually has a video on his own channel where he goes over the whole config, and he has some of the config files available on GitHub
Try it out: dotnet.microsoft.com/learn/dotnet/hello-world-tutorial/intro
Great video! It was so easy to set up that we learned more about winget! LOL.

Great. Next step: Make dotnet fast :D
Ever heard of power shell ??
We have ;) PowerShell DSC resources are actually what help power this experience!
Microsoft.WinGet.Configuration is the PowerShell module to use if you prefer, and Microsoft.WinGet.Client gives you PowerShell cmdlets for WinGet.
Please 😀 go to somewhere with C# Dev Kit 😀
Awesome! Now make this script available for Linux.
Yes. but it is sad that no one is using Winget in 2024
Speak for yourself. I only use winget
