@@anemo01 One recap for each arc could be cool, but if MOR do that, he sould then do every anime worth of note (Naruto, Bleach, Dragonball and so on), and I'm not sure he wants to do that.

Arlong's fury against humans is really deep and dark as we go deeper into the story. Given the history of the Fishmen. You'll understand his actions.

I actually enjoyed watching the show, like a 1000 episodes into the anime, but the show is like a fresh reminder of where everyone started. Dont know how long netflix is commited to making the show but hopefully they will continue it.
All Blue is not a restaurant, it is a sea with all the fish in the world in it, a cook paradise. And Kuro didn't eat a devil fruit, he is just very fast. I was higly suspicious when this show was announced, but it turned out to be pretty good and respectful of the source material. Knowing East blue is one of the weakest arc (but you have to start somewhere), I'll definitly be there for season 2. Can Netflix keep this level of quality for 20 years ? We'll see.

Was anyone else pleasantly surprised by this adaptation? I went in expecting the worst and enjoyed it
Same here, I launched the first episode with the japanese dub (the voice actors are the same than in the anime), but reverted to english halfway trougth the episode, feeling that this adaptation earned his rigth in my eye to be is own thing. And I liked it.

The recap was so good I actually want to watch the original series.
Read the manga, its fastest to read 104 tomes than to look 1074 episodes during around 20 minutes each.

This was an excellent recap of the show, dude. The only mistake I heard was when you talked about sanji's dream. The all blue is a legendary Ocean, not a restaurant.

me, already watched the OPLA, read manga, watched anime and still listen to man of recap to see how will he describe the story in his own way
A few corrections and more info:
Axe-Hand's son is named Helmeppo.
Kuro does not have a Devil Fruit, he's just really fast.
Nami's mother is not really her mother, her name is Bellemere and she is Nami's adoptive mother.
Arlong's crew are actually just called the Arlong Pirates.
The All Blue is not a restaurant, it's just an ocean with all ingredients from the seas.
The wavy line down the middle of the diagram Nami made is called the Red Line.
Sanji was always forced to be a waiter.
The double cigar guy is named Captain Smoker.
Still a very good recap!

I am glad that Coby, Helmeppo and Garth have a bigger role in this than in the Anime/Manga. i belive is important for adaptations to have a healthy dose of new content to make it worth your time and those 3 make a cool mirror to the strawhats, sad that Jango and Fullbody did not make it
Fullbody was here, we see him in the Baratie, but even less than in the manga. There is two letter of the Jango wanted poster visible on the wall of bounty in the first episode.
It a good start to watch & konw about the one piece universe cuz watch 1000th episode yeah there no time 😅😵💫😵
When I first saw the trailer I thought this show will fail miserably but I was wrong, although I watched the whole anime until the latest episode and I read the the latest manga chapter, I enjoyed the show and it is the best adaptation from an anime which it really hard considering the previous failures attempts like Death Note , Dragon Ball and The Last air bender .. I love one piece show and I think it good 8/10 , Thank you Oda and Netflix.

Try the manga, it's faster to read 104 tome than to watch 1074 20 minutes long episodes (I heard an unoficial kai version exist, tho).

Thanks for the recap! I don't really see the point of making this adaptation. They will never be able to adapt the whole story. All the other adaptations were 1 or 2 season shows, so those made more sense.
