We Know that Florida Panther is not a subspecies of Cougar or a Mountain Lion, according to 2017, the Cat Classification Taskforce of the Cat Specialist Group revised the taxonomy of Felidae, and now recognises that the Florida Panther is a Rare population of Mountain Lion found only in Florida.
In case anyone cares - this is on the eastern edge of the Naples, Florida area. And if you go about one or two miles east of where this video was made - you are in the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge area. So this woman lives in the back yard of the panthers. They are neighbors.
💯 I agree! However, people won't, but eventually, Earth will have enough, as she always has & will choose land & wildlife ( the majority, some will perish, too) over humans & take care of the greed once & for all.
They live here on the SE side of Florida as well. I've seen one myself and my neighbor saw one with 2 cubs. I've seen half a dozen bobcats and coyotes, but a panther sighting is rare and absolutely amazing.
Florida panthers have a more elusive nature compared to their western cousins they are more likely to flee than fight in a situation. Where as cougars in the Rockies have been know to actually stalk and seek out hikers
I don't know if the cougars are different but everything out west is enormous. The doves are bigger, the deer, they have elk, brown bears, and grizzly. I don't know if they are brown bears. But, California has bears that are a light brown with this shaggy fur. I wouldn't categorize them as Grizzlies because they are a lot smaller. But...yeah everything is bigger in the west.
Enjoy the moment she says!! Who’s gonna enjoy being stalked by a Panther. The Panther didn’t want popcorn, she wanted one of those dogs to come out and play!
That's nice to see, I had one visit my camp over 2 winters down to -20 in Scotland, Every night he would turn up and lie down 3ft from my tent and 8ft above it so he had the upper ground so he could escape or pounce, I had to walk to my tent every night looking at 2 huge eyes glowing eye's in the campfire light, Was kind of spooky for the first 5 day until we both settled down to each others company, I called him Catman. It was some of my fondest memory's in my life. When a wild animal befriends you and keeps you company in the most foul weather conditions know to man.. They can live right under the radar, This one has been at its location for over 10 years, 3 miles from a small village and 8 miles from a town.
I've had the opportunity to see a florida panther twice in my life.. there was one in my grandmother's back yard b4 I threw our dogs ball and it chased it... the second time I was going through a pasture as a shortcut and it was in a tree above. It ran away pretty quicky... both sightings was in Okeechobee. A few years apart. Pretty close together in milage. So likely it could of been the same panther. But wonder full experiences to see them in its own environment. I can only hope for a 3rd time tbh.
If you really think that panther, wanted to get popcorn and watch a movie, you need your head examined. You were being hunted! Animals are what they are.
Yes there's the Knight dinner shows in Orlando & then you have those Society for Creative Anachronism, the SCA community includes over 30,000 members in 20 kingdoms around the globe.
Well maybe then people should not building in wild life land. This happening because more and more land is being consuming and taken away from wild life animals. If they worried about their dogs then they should move....
It's unfortunate that track homes and developments are being built on the lands that these endangered animals have been living on for decades. And then residents are surprised to see them. I'll bet they are surprised to see you too. Stop moving to Florida, this overdevelopment has to stop.
Kitty just looking at the menu.
Yep, he will be out there waiting on them while they think it’s wonderful. Couldn’t be me.🤨
What an honor to see such a magnificent animal in your own yard! let's protect Florida wildlife people!!!!
Not exactly...that's new construction so that's the Panthers yard. Building on top of the few the state has left.
Stop moving into their yard

@@jthomas8263of course it’s the same thing. It’s a cougar. Looks exactly like western cougars except a bit smaller.

‼I totally care. Thank you so much for posting. Never, ever, feel guilty for educating others.
I appreciate your insight.😇
As Floridians we should do more to keep Florida great ,like building less community homes that destroys the habitats of these beautiful Animals

Yea amazing until your dog’s outside he will have dinner
That panther looks badass ! I bet it would win versus those 3 dogs !
Looks just like a mountain lion/cougar. Any difference?
A cougar will go after baby horses so yeah, cats and dogs are a snack
@@recoveringsoul755They are a more slender sub species. Closely related though.
Its a cougar not a panther
Why isn't he at practice? Game 3 is Massive for the cats!

@@stevenrodriguez1394 congrats. Was not expecting that. Florida got a real good d. I was wrong
No threat to humans? It's a panther lol. That's like saying a mountain lion isn't a threat
Panthers are mountain lions.
They are scared of humans so they run
They don’t actively hunt humans
Florida panthers have a more elusive nature compared to their western cousins they are more likely to flee than fight in a situation. Where as cougars in the Rockies have been know to actually stalk and seek out hikers
mountain lions aren't panthers, but florida panthers are mountain lions
They're the same exact species in different locations (Puma Concolor).
I’ve seen these in North Central Florida.
No threat to humans? Those eat the heck out of people here in California.
Panthers or cougars?

These are smaller and more timid. There has never been a reported attack on a person in FL
Well...thats because u built ur fancy arsed house on what was left of the panthers territory.
Oh he wanted some popcorn. You were the popcorn.
Imagine having your door opened and it came in. Or kids playing in your/next door yard.
Enjoy the moment she says!! Who’s gonna enjoy being stalked by a Panther. The Panther didn’t want popcorn, she wanted one of those dogs to come out and play!
They have come back so strong that the Florida Panther is in Georgia already. We seen a 60 70lb panther turkey hunting 2yrs ago.
Nothing scary just supporting the Panthers at the Stanley Cup finals, he figured they're using me as a mascot.
Wow. Thats truly amazing.
That thing ain’t tryna watch no movie.
😂 yeah forget the movie and your popcorn 🍿. it was watching them dogs

We need to put that in the Las Vegas Golden Knights locker room
Cougar says, “when are humans going to domesticate cougars to keep as pets?”
He wants some popcorn alright
He's like (I'll Be Backk). I added the extra K to make it as close to Arnold.
Kitty just came to get the puppies . She needs to feed her cubs too
She was being watched by a Cougar
Unfortunately, When they start to get this close to homes. Law enforcement and Wildlife Officers have to sedate and relocate them.
Not all bad, they won’t remember how to get back to said homes
Caught the scent of the two dogs, wanted a meal
What happens if there's a fire in the house and panthers are outside near the door?
Then dinner is served.
Nothing. They’ll run away
Need to bring it to Sunrise
Yeah it wanted some popcorn and to watch a movie alright😂
Thank you Karen
Beautiful

Good! Panthers are active somewhere lol! # nhlfinals
We asked a professional what to do and she said woaaaahh just look how cool
Amazing? It going to comeback
The woman was prey
I have never heard of cougars in Florida. I know they use to have Jaguars and Ocelots. Til they started killing them for their fur.
I bet you the three dogs are like let's just act like we didn't hear or see nothing 🫣
A nice kitty
just tryin to watch the hockey game......

This is why I stay inside.
Healthy panther
We can visit the panthers
In Naples FL
This is what you see when you cut down trees and build neighborhoods.
Husband looks like he’s wearing a fake beard
Great timing for them but where are the golden knights are there even any knights that exist nowadays 😂
