Hi i am having a hard time creating a legend from the map. I select the contents required however the legend button does not allow me to click it. Any help would be awesome!
Hi M K, Thank you for posting your question. If you want to add a legend to a base layer, the layer must have symbology applied to it. More information can be found on the following pages: Legend Help page: surferhelp.goldensoftware.com/editmap/idd_post_legend_page.htm?Highlight=legend Surfer Base Symbology Training Video: support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003037873-Surfer-Base-Symbology-Training-Video?source=search Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance! Hi Wanderson, Thank you for your comment! It sounds like you need to combine multiple base maps. This video taught you how to create base maps and the following video will show you how to combine them: support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002149228-Surfer-Combining-Maps-Training-Video. If you are working with maps in differing coordinate systems, I'd recommend giving this article a read: support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/226660388-Why-would-I-want-to-set-the-coordinate-system-for-a-map-or-layer-in-Surfer- or this training video: support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002770388-Surfer-Coordinate-Systems-Training-Video. To add a scale, select the Map object in the Contents, then click Map Tools | Add to Map | Scale. Please note, the scale uses the units of your map. If your XY coordinates are in lat/long you will need to change to a linear unit for the scale bar to reflect a linear scale. You can adjust the coordinate system of the map (instructions are in the links above) or see instructions here to change only the units of your scale bar: support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/226662348-How-can-I-change-units-of-the-map-scale-bar-in-Surfer-.
