What she does have is her assist attack, which will synergise with everything, so you can slap her in a burn team and use Liu skill 1s for burn application, but I can't imagine her bringing much herself. Exactly what I was thinking. Toss in Middle Don for some fun A-Res. shenaniganery. Backline Supports: - Liu Hong Lu - Liu Meursault - Kurokumo Ryoshu - Kurokumo Hong Lu - Regret Faust - Twinhook Gregor - LCB/Zwei Rodion Alternatively, you can swap out N-Clair (if you don't have him) for the always handy Support from Mariachi Sinclair, then put Middle Meursault on the battle team instead of Liu Meursault on Support. Or...simply bench N-Clair for the memes to increase Don's Blunt damage even further. And if you don't have Middle Don either, then LCB Don will work just fine since the Pequod Gang is all Pierce. The only foreseeable issue is that for THIS much Bleed, they have no Lust whatsoever - which kills a lot of the best Bleed Supports outside of MD3 (and Liu Meursault if you're using him as Support). N-Faust is an obvious choice to solve that alongside N-Clair though - with more Nails to add Bleed Count, 9:2 to Burn with its passive and speed up the activation of Outis' passive as well...Pride and Envy skills for more A-Res with the Pequod gang...more damage buffs/SP Recovery on top of Ishmael's...the list goes on and on. Ultimately, I look forward to the kinds of funny stuff people will pull with Ahabmael!
My only worry about this strat is keeping Nclair at negative sanity. I feel like I have enough trouble keeping him low enough with just Grippy on the team. So having more passive SP regen I feel would only make the problem worse

Nah, if you want him to discard something, then the assist attack would simply have him discard it beforehand and his other skill will simply discard the next thing you intend to discard. Only thing it can really mess up with his S2 discarding two skills at once for the passive buff. Either that or if you were using his S3 on a bottom row, but you just need to be cognizant of that.
It doesnt affect upcoming skills meaning that I belive it could still discard whatever is still in the choose'able skill slots. so if you were to choose for him only s3 in bottom rows, it could still discard anything from top row, since its not upcoming but current.
My guess is that her S1 will be base power 3 with +4 coins (common offense-oriented 2 coin S1), her S2 will be 4 base power with +4 coins (another common offensive 3 coin S2 spread) and her S3 will be 3 with +3 coins (the same as chef ryoshu, and actually also liu ishmael, but the bleed coin power would make it even better than those). Those aren't insane clashing numbers but they're strong damage numbers.
As expected, and DESERVED, she's a real monster. My shards are almost ready. Gonna Uptie 4 for the moment I put my hands on her on Thursday. It is a good day to be a Limbus fan boys.
• i think the best teamcomp is her, pequod heath and yi sang, pirate gregor, cinqclair since hes poise and pierce, and hook lu since he has pride evade, lots of bleed, and MORE missing hp scaling plus its 5 poise units and 5 bleed units for mds poise bleed def better than charge now
I didn't expect the captain to be so good at cooking. It's just sad that for Burn team she is fighting for the spot with Liu Ishmael, but maybe in the future with more burn/pride Ids. Assist attack have great synergy with some of poise IDs. Pirate Gregor enjoy the extra stack for the passive and extra poise. Harpooncliff make his combo skill 1 into skill 2 much smooth. BL Yi Sang have good colors for this and using again his skill 1 does help him a lot. While CinqClair doesn't benefit much from assist attack, with his speed you can guaranteed there is always someone on the left of captain to benefit the buff.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Liu Faust ends up as some combo of Lust/Pride/Gluttony, honestly. If anything, I feel PM has been very consistent with their introduction of the more fleshed out teams: 1) Start out with a stable core of IDs that have very similar if not identical Sin spreads, making up for Support Passive/EGO variety with A-Res consistency. Siding in outside IDs usually helps...but purely due to the inherent effectiveness of an ID, in spite of any synergies that exist or not with your half-finished/small faction (if any). This is usually the case with archetypes that either haven't gotten all their members yet or are meant to be rather small and exclusive. This will probably be the new player experience as well, especially when dealing with factions with a lot of 00s (like Liu, specifically). 2) Introduce a new ID or two with a slightly different gimmick than the rest and a very different Sin spread than the older "core" IDs outside of maybe one or two Sins that the team considers their "primary" type. The team usually loses a ton of their A-Res consistency, but the overall power level is more often than not brought way up due to the wider availability of usable Supports and EGOs, as well as the newer gimmick still helping the team in some way (See Charge Barrier on W-Corp, Tremor in N-Corp, etc) while simultaneously opening the door for alternate, unusual team compositions due to jank, yet effective synergies. I really won't be surprised if W-Rodion ends up as a Burn or Bleed ID at this rate because that's just the way PM seems to roll - which is actually really smart for game balance in the long run.
But you have the potential for an extra dark flame with Der outis skill 1.or using someone else skill 1 to inflict more burns. Currently is not good as it still lack sin color to work well but the potential is there.
seeing the skill 2 makes me think how good she is with only queecliff with her, because if the max units is 6 both queecliff and her will have 3 skill slots and it will be easy to get resonance (if you do all envy quecliff gets comical amounts of aggro and protection/and if you do pride quecliff can use up to 6 skill 1, 3 normal and 3 from assist attack)
We still don't know yet if her Skill 3 poise gain counts as lucky pouch's or not. It says "Allies" and not "Other Allies" or "Other Sinners" and considering that it's "Allies" it can applies to herself if she falls under it's own condition(she has low SP). There's also a coma right after the heal allies SP, which could just self gain poise. Or who knows maybe just because there's a Poise generation on one of her skill, Lucky pouch counts it 💀
I planned around this I'm taking Captain Ishmael, Cinq sinclair, Kurokumo Rodya, pequod Yi Sang and Heathcliff, and pirate Gregor that should activate both lucky pouch and bloody mist :D
Honestly the only flaw I've found in her so far is the passive which at 90% I never see active for the rest solid DPS tending to strengthen the team the S3 is the somewhat conditional nuke but on the stagger as a condition you can work around
The problem that i see its that gloom will be a problem in her team, his gang neither has gloom, the pirate gregor only has his s3 and evasion(I know he isnt from her gang but he has poise + bleed + we need to get sloth from somewere for yi Sang , now u have 2 open slots. The best in slot next character is cinq sinclair also has 0 gloom. And the last one is for your choosing, either cinq outis or loboto outis are amazing also Middle don is really good. For mirror dungeon if you get the bluelighter you are fine(And i hope that ishmael counts as an ID with Poise for the secret crafteable item) , but in other content could be difficult, but i need to say, if future speciaal content its like this railway, this will not be an issue becaause u will want to changge teams anyway.

I wonder how that second skill will work with Dieci Hong Lu and Rodya, since if you use the infinite 3 insight trick, you could deal some insane damage with their S1s.
G Corp Greg is not weak, but he is overshadowed by every other Canto ID (other than Rodion, but like, did she even have one?). G Corp is good as a Support unit, like BL Yi Sang, but on the field, is pretty selfish as a DPS (just like BL Sang, but significantly weaker).

Given how bleed-friendly she is, I was thinking about using Ryoshu from Kuromoko. The skill one applies Paralysis, which is great on bosses to make sure the next clash isn't too painful at times. Specially on Mirror Dungeon Hard
She has little burn synergy herself and her entire passive text basically doesn't exist for most of the content where you'd want it. By the time you've defeated one enemy, you start to snowball regardless, unless you're in an pretty difficult human combat encounter like T-Corp in MD3 Hard or such and already lost units. A vast majority of boss encounters (so far) are abnormalities with only one enemy, so her passives are completely useless when you'd actually want the bonus from them. It's nice to have her defeat an enemy and make the clean-up just a little bit faster for Mirror Dungeon or the few Refraction Railway encounters with multiple enemies to defeat, but it's not really a synergy to build around. You might still want her for burn teams because she has a chance to trigger skill 1s of other allies, but outside of that, she has one skill with 1 coin of potency and 1 for count, unless she gets a lot there, it's negligible. Ardor Blossom Star helps, but putting her in a burn team would still seems like a stretch, going by that alone. What might make her really amazing and worth putting in every team is her skill 2, depending on how much % for resonance we're looking at. Skill 1s are generally for resource generation and are bad at clashing, so she might be an incredibly powerful support for every team, just for the additional charge, tremor etc. count that would generate. Her skill set is nice for Mirror Dungeon because she can make some use of many E.G.O gifts you randomly find and wouldn't have a use for if they don't fit your team, but in Refraction Railway, I'm not as sure about her. As I said, depends on her skill 2 %. She'll definitely be good, but you seem a bit overhyped, considering you entirely overlooked the part of her passive/assist skill that basically disables it for most content where it would matter.
Honestly, Holiday’s seeming a lot stronger with this. Pride turns get Blind Obsession, wrath turns get Holiday, and then envy turns get Middle passives, and Holiday can theoretically work for all three. And the passive still sucks, but it sucks less when you’re going for multiple statuses.
But fr tho Literally all Ishmael ID are super strong, even sloshmael is a solid tank and shimael is basically the best shi id. She’s just like honglu in someways

holy shit burn gaslightmael and der outis dream team also der outis skill 1 is also really solid with it inflicting dark flame also she has both 3 envy and 2 pride which means that when with queecliff you have 6 envy for reliable reson for heathcliff and 5 pride when with der outis for reliable reson for assist attack also cool that all pequod crew skill 1’s (and blind obsession) are all pride which seems to be ahab’s main sin affinity also blind obsession synergy is cool and I just got blind obsession to uptie 4 so yay me
I'm kinda sad that she doesn't give poise or help with poise but then again there's still blade lineage event so I'm sure the is there will be the poise support for that poise teams needs
The problem with her bleed synergy is she has no count, and none of the piqoud have cont, Harponers Heath has count but that need the target to already have count
Given the recent focus on 6-man teams, I’m guessing the % chance given on her S2 is increased at intervals of 20%, meaning 6 res would be needed for a 100% chance of applying Assist Attack. Shame Ish doesn’t gain any poise on her skills, so I can’t use her for my poise team in MD (and her S3 can’t even benefit from Lucky Pouch). She looks like she’ll be a monster for my bleed team, though. 3 and 4 coins is massive, and her S3 even gains coin power against targets with bleed. Middle Don doesn’t even need to use her kit gimmicks to rampage in MD with Bloody Mist, and I imagine Captain Ish will be even more dangerous.
My only question is : why does she have burn on S2, S3 and passive? (pequod is all about bleed + poise and never did they have burn in the fights..??) Feels a bit out of place and random
Gas burns, so there’s that. Something to consider: N Sinclair applies burn on all his skills, but his S3 needs a certain amount of bleed on his target to apply burn. Given Ahab’s admittance into Hermann’s group, it might be that Captain Ish being a bleed/burn ID (with poise from her passive on kills) is for the sake of fitting into a possible bleed/burn hybrid team in the future.

She doesn't generate poise with her skills so she won't count for lucky pouch, pretty sure. But we'll have to see how it goes when she drops.

Honestly the only flaw I've found in her so far is the passive which at 90% I never see active for the rest solid DPS tending to strengthen the team the S3 is the somewhat conditional nuke but on the stagger as a condition you can work around

The problem that i see its that gloom will be a problem in her team, his gang neither has gloom, the pirate gregor only has his s3 and evasion(I know he isnt from her gang but he has poise + bleed + we need to get sloth from somewere for yi Sang , now u have 2 open slots.
The best in slot next character is cinq sinclair also has 0 gloom.
And the last one is for your choosing, either cinq outis or loboto outis are amazing also Middle don is really good.
For mirror dungeon if you get the bluelighter you are fine(And i hope that ishmael counts as an ID with Poise for the secret crafteable item) , but in other content could be difficult, but i need to say, if future speciaal content its like this railway, this will not be an issue becaause u will want to changge teams anyway.
Captain Ishmael has burn because Ahab has it in her skills. Also was Ahab's harpoon always gas harpoon or is the status name a reference to Ahab's ego?

Cinq Outis has a skill 1 that is pride, pierce 2 coins and gains her haste and poise count. Seems like a good fit for the assist attack.

Rodya still remaining the only person without any ID for her story we got a 3 for 5 on OP Story units (G corp Gregor kinda weak sadly)
G Corp Greg is not weak, but he is overshadowed by every other Canto ID (other than Rodion, but like, did she even have one?). G Corp is good as a Support unit, like BL Yi Sang, but on the field, is pretty selfish as a DPS (just like BL Sang, but significantly weaker).

Given how bleed-friendly she is, I was thinking about using Ryoshu from Kuromoko.
The skill one applies Paralysis, which is great on bosses to make sure the next clash isn't too painful at times. Specially on Mirror Dungeon Hard
She has little burn synergy herself and her entire passive text basically doesn't exist for most of the content where you'd want it. By the time you've defeated one enemy, you start to snowball regardless, unless you're in an pretty difficult human combat encounter like T-Corp in MD3 Hard or such and already lost units. A vast majority of boss encounters (so far) are abnormalities with only one enemy, so her passives are completely useless when you'd actually want the bonus from them. It's nice to have her defeat an enemy and make the clean-up just a little bit faster for Mirror Dungeon or the few Refraction Railway encounters with multiple enemies to defeat, but it's not really a synergy to build around.
You might still want her for burn teams because she has a chance to trigger skill 1s of other allies, but outside of that, she has one skill with 1 coin of potency and 1 for count, unless she gets a lot there, it's negligible. Ardor Blossom Star helps, but putting her in a burn team would still seems like a stretch, going by that alone. What might make her really amazing and worth putting in every team is her skill 2, depending on how much % for resonance we're looking at. Skill 1s are generally for resource generation and are bad at clashing, so she might be an incredibly powerful support for every team, just for the additional charge, tremor etc. count that would generate. Her skill set is nice for Mirror Dungeon because she can make some use of many E.G.O gifts you randomly find and wouldn't have a use for if they don't fit your team, but in Refraction Railway, I'm not as sure about her. As I said, depends on her skill 2 %. She'll definitely be good, but you seem a bit overhyped, considering you entirely overlooked the part of her passive/assist skill that basically disables it for most content where it would matter.
Imagine giving assist attack to Dieci Hong lu. With 3 stack insight. JESUS SHES GOING TO BE SO FUN!

Honestly, Holiday’s seeming a lot stronger with this. Pride turns get Blind Obsession, wrath turns get Holiday, and then envy turns get Middle passives, and Holiday can theoretically work for all three. And the passive still sucks, but it sucks less when you’re going for multiple statuses.

Literally all Ishmael ID are super strong, even sloshmael is a solid tank and shimael is basically the best shi id.

I'm kinda sad that she doesn't give poise or help with poise but then again there's still blade lineage event so I'm sure the is there will be the poise support for that poise teams needs

Given the recent focus on 6-man teams, I’m guessing the % chance given on her S2 is increased at intervals of 20%, meaning 6 res would be needed for a 100% chance of applying Assist Attack.
Shame Ish doesn’t gain any poise on her skills, so I can’t use her for my poise team in MD (and her S3 can’t even benefit from Lucky Pouch). She looks like she’ll be a monster for my bleed team, though. 3 and 4 coins is massive, and her S3 even gains coin power against targets with bleed. Middle Don doesn’t even need to use her kit gimmicks to rampage in MD with Bloody Mist, and I imagine Captain Ish will be even more dangerous.
That depends on if 'After Attack' counts as poise gain. If it does, it'll be crazy. If it doesn't, then there's no loss.
My only question is : why does she have burn on S2, S3 and passive? (pequod is all about bleed + poise and never did they have burn in the fights..??)

Something to consider: N Sinclair applies burn on all his skills, but his S3 needs a certain amount of bleed on his target to apply burn. Given Ahab’s admittance into Hermann’s group, it might be that Captain Ish being a bleed/burn ID (with poise from her passive on kills) is for the sake of fitting into a possible bleed/burn hybrid team in the future.
have you fought Ahab in the story? she inflicts so much burn and even inflicts burn potency based on bleed potency
be honest here for a second. If she is bad, more people will riot then if she is broken. She is a very hyped ID after all
