I stumbled on the Wayhome tarot last year and have been burned once by an indie deck but I went for it anyway. And man am I glad I did! It is, as of right now, my main client reader and what I classify as my “intelligence” or “water” deck. Yes, swords are classified as air but in this I find the deck a bit watery, probably the art, but it makes it very clear what I should know or should be doing to fix my shit. And has done the same for people I’ve gotten to read for. So happy with that purchase!

When you started showing the Stunning Tarot I thought 'this reminds me of Tarot of the Holy Spectrum' only for you to show that later! I love Chase's deck. I have the second edition and love it so much. I also want the Stunning Tarot now...lol.

Brilliant video. Chris from Elementary Cartomancy channel also uses the Tarot of the Holy Spectrum. but I agree it is not a widely promoted deck on You-tube. In that way it adds to its charm. A deck i feel is underrated (such a good reader for me) is The Spolia tarot.
Oh I don’t know Elementary Cartomancy’s channel I will go and check their videos 😊 always nice to discover new perspective. Yessss for the spolia tarot I agree with you! I almost included it in the video but because it’s out of print and not getting reprinted ( I don’t think 🤔 ) I didn’t want to create FOMO If people can’t find it easily but it’s such a good reader 😊 thank you for watching 🌟
I really enjoyed this video! I love my indie decks, and I agree, many are under-rated, and so often get ignored. I love Jonasa Jaus' artwork, I have one of her original long skinny decks, and I am so bonded to it, I never got the Stunning Tarot, but some day...maybe. The Getto tarot was another under-rated one, but I think I like the one you have better, it seems to have a little less misery, more emotional range. I like to see some sadness, but I also appreciate the laughter in some of those cards. Pretty sure that Star Wars deck needs to stay a little under the radar, that kind of thing gets in a lot of trouble because big Hollywood wants to keep everything "licensed" and above board. Indie fan art is fine, but not for profit. I have the Heart of Stars Tarot (also indie) and it has some great Star Wars images, but he's blurred them just enough so that they can't be entirely recognized as movie shots. Tarot of the Holy Spectrum is beautiful, I know it was quite popular for a minute, with the sold out first editions going for big money. I was glad to see they did a new printing, but I never got that one either! So many decks...so little money. I agree that RuPaul's Drag Race can erase the troubles of anyone's day. I love it! Journey Into Egypt is another one that went on and off my wishlist, mostly because of the price! and the fact that I'd need to have the book also...so I finally just let the dream die. I have some wonderful decks, but none of these - so it is so much fun to see what other tarot people love. Thank you.
Ohhhh that jonasa jaus tarot in the long version looks so good !!! I have the regular size but the long one always makes me think of old Italian decks when I see pictures of it 😍yes you’re so right about the Star Wars tarot unfortunately for a lot of the fandom decks they have to stay under the radar. I will check out the one you have I’ve never heard of it ! I am so happy to meet a fellow drag race lover, it always brightens my day no matter what is going on ❤️ and yes totally for journey into Egypt that deck is not cheap… I have still not received the book so I think I will need to reorder a new one because so much to study there I can’t do it on my own 🥲 but the artwork is so beautiful I enjoy using it on its own too, I just love a good study project haha. aww that is so coooool💛 I'm so glad you could find a deck that speaks to you like that. I love it too, the mix between the colours and the way the arcanas are depicted it's like magic 😍 I really hope the cosmic cycles gets reprinted but if not maybe worth checking Facebook tarot trading groups because I know a lot of people didn't vibe with this deck when they got theirs so you might find a copy there? Manifesting it haha that's what I do for all the decks I am on the look out for 🤣thank you for watching 😘

Love your enthusiasm for this deck in particular, It's encouraging me to take a another look as it has mostly languished in a box waiting to be used ... I have the Uncover Your Past Lives Oracle deck, and yea. I set it to the side for now. I wish I had started with one like this, that is more structured because it's A LOT. The cards are double sided, have multiple aspects of a single theme on the other side, and they're round, which makes it more complicated because there's like 4 to 6 positions per card. And it's and 80 card deck. I'm tempted by the one you show here but some of the depictions of Africans kills it for me.
Oh I had seen this deck and it looked super rich but also a bit overwhelming like you said, I think the many layers of meanings scared me a little I was worried I wouldn't know where to start for past lives readings. But like you said the one I have is not perfect at all. there are definitely some cards I have issues with both with the key words & certain images that have tokenism feel even though I know it reuses pre existing artwork there are still some not sitting right for me like you said the Congo card etc so I don't know, this deck and I we have a complicated relationship & I"m not sure if I can work with it to get out of it what I want or if I am going to let it go 🤔... the hunt for the perfect past lives deck continues! thanks for watching 😄

Wait, are we allowed to make and sell fandom decks if we don't have the license, or did the artist somehow managed to strike up a deal? If I could, I'd definitely make another Twin Peaks deck. The one that I know of is super expensive, and I think it's Majors only and a pretty straight up RWS clone.
I’m not sure tbh about the rules about copyrights and how it works… there must be some regulations around it especially around making money out of it but on the other hand I have seen quite a few fandom decks created by people so they might have found a way to make it work ? If you want to make a deck you totally should though! That sounds awesome 👏🏻

I must say the Gift of Life tarot is legally on very shaky ground. To publish images of individuals like this requires a model release (written permission to use their image commercially) from each and every individual pictured. Even if she always collected this kind of release when taking the photos, what about the pictured children? Did she go back and ask their permission?
To me this smells horribly of the neo-colonialist attitude of a white person who isn't too concerned about the personal / privacy rights of black or brown people...
I understand your concerns about the gift of life, I think the best thing is to check the artist website to see what was done about the model releases if you want more information. I am aware that being a white person I am not the best person to comment on how this could be harmful. All I can tell you is what info I could get in the guidebook: they mention on the card the people depicted + their charities or work etc if they have some & it says that proceeds of the deck go to a non profit organisation but again probably best to contact them directly to get more information if you have any questions regarding right of image. Obviously as a white person i can’t be the reference, I can tell you what the information the guidebook provides which is that the creator knows most of the people on the cards she shares her story of meeting them & her travels and that the deck was made for a non profit organization but that’s all I can say really
Just a heads up, Arab people are not Asian and Asian people do not like the term "oriental". There are a lot of resources on the issues of Orientalism if you'd like to look it up. I understand it's common in romance languages to use the word though!

My first language is Spanish and the word is super normalised and used in European languages in general, I had no idea where the word came from until I learnt English to an advanced level. So much to unpack and unlearn, it's a long process. 💗

I own the cosmic cycles tarot deluxe edition. It was a year until it arrived but that’s not that bad. The shipping took time because they tried to ship from two locations to reduce costs for people. I think it ended in the best way possible and I love my deluxe cards

Ah I so enjoy listening to your thoughts on various decks. 💖 Been eyeing that past life one for quite some time now, though I do have a bunch of these on my wishlist, but my list is like 10 million entries long so it's hard to choose with a budget, haha. I sometimes think I need to start my list over and list only the very top but I'm always afraid of forgetting a deck or overlooking one so I still keep my mega list. 😂
Omg I have a mega list too on the notes of my phone, but mine is a mess though 😹it moves and changes and morphs it’s a living organism 😂 but like you said I tend to prioritize what’s at the top and then sometimes if I leave a deck on the wishlist for a while I realize I don’t really want it so in a way that really helps me to figure out how much I want it or if I have something else that scratches the itch.
