Too much alarmism in the beginning. It's a threat to be respected and faced, not to fearmongered over.

if it isn't a volcano, Tsunami, Hurricanes, tornado alley, or harsh severe inhospitable weather..... NO place on earth is perfect. Doesn't matter where you go, mother nature is sure to follow with major upheaval of some sort. If you look at other maps of other weather events (current and past), other than earthquakes.... Utah is protected from just about everything else. Our mountains were created by massive quakes, but because of them we are blessed with many unique features, water sources, and protection from most other weather events. Got to take the good with the bad.
on a somewhat related note.... It was interesting to see the lava flows from the yellowstone supervolcano flowed around the utah for the most part because it had mountains protecting it... granted the gas and ash falling down was most likely a definite problem, but at least it wasn't leveled by lava.... fun facts.

How can ones scripture say to live polygamy, and the group of people consider themselves correct when they don’t even live polygamy? It’s kind of like believing in math but then insisting 2+2 is 5
