It’s good to see you Melbournian peeps starting to get out and about again. How I wish Adelaide had hard waste days like this. Unfortunately each home has to book individual hard waste collections, so we don’t get the same scrap buffets over here 😔 Keep up the great videos!

Don't know if you know it, but old brass hardware can be worth a fortune. Also, I can't stand cord cutters. They're the bane of my existence. I furnished my house with luxury items tossed by the rich neighborhoods like leather loveseats, antique furniture like the engraved silver plate sewing machine I just got the other day, and a bunch of other high end furniture and vintage appliances. I've missed out on a lot of nice electronics because the cords have been cut off. One of them was a 70" LED tv that was $1500 at Costco that a rich house tossed because the stand broke. On other tvs I've replaced the cords off of eBay, but this one was irreparable. Really pissed me off because it was a 4k TV that was nicer than anything I could ever afford.
Greetings from Czech republic. I would like to have such a possibility for people to put their waste on the street. There everybody throw every stuff to the bins. We have bins on plastic, steel garbage (like cans and others...), paper and of course on every electric waste. Sometimes i have lucky and found something next to the bins. My best find was ten notebooks.

@@jakub3851 Tady je to docela těžké, hlavně kontejnery na elektro často ničí bezdomovci a feťáci aby se do nich dostali. Což znamená... že mají taky spoustu času na to je obcházet. Většinou musíš mít štěstí že jedeš jako první okolo. Občas se dá u popelnic najít Tv nebo monitor, ale pokud ji najdou první, tak z ní vykopou veškerou měď. Mikrovlnky tu vídám běžně rozpárané z boku, protože jdou jen po té mědi. Nedávno jsem se ptal na sběrném dvoře jestli by se od nich dalo něco odkoupit. Prý by mi to prodali, dřív s tim kšeftovali běžně, ale s politickým vedením v naší městské části to je na vyhazov. Holt posraná Pirátská strana :)
I’m always in disbelief how much electronic/computer related scrap you find on the street over there. I live in a semi rural area of New England here in the states and even in our small cities I’ve never seen anywhere near that amount left out for disposal. I’m assuming that most of it just ends up in a land fill unfortunately, I don’t think we have anywhere near the infrastructure for recycling ewaste.

I'm here in the states....I was out Friday morning before the garbage trucks and most of the day Saturday...walked away with 203.66....I was taking any metal and cut cords .
Does anyone else think guys who see what are on likely perfectly decent appliances and electronics guy just cut the cord n don't at least scrap out the whole thing....they just rape the ,11cent in copper n.end the value forever of the goods...
I don't understand your Scrapping Methods, I've seen you pass up so much it's not funny, There was a whole stack of what looked like Stainless Pots and Not to mention all the Tin laying around, I'm sorry, A Dollar is a Dollar, I'd rather be picking up Tin as I go so I know I'll at least make some kind of money that day in stead of running around just looking for Aluminum, Copper, Brass, PCs, Wire and whatever else bc You're walking right over free money, I know that you have Limited room in your van and Tin takes up a lot of room to make weight, Learn how to stack the stuff right and you'll be surprized how much you'll be able to get into that little van tho....

Maybe you new viewers haven't seen what Ben has done in the past. He has filled many a vans full of tin and other stuff. He has also had days where he fills a van with high value PCs. He said it's Sunday so he can't dump a load of tin today and so he is being patient and choosy. We all wish we could take it all but the amount of stuff there is overwhelming and Ben focuses in on the e-waste. That's why he calls himself E-waste Ben. Not Ben the scrapper.

But I guess your guys Scrapping is different than My Scrapping, Bc I'd pick it all up and separate it back at home and then once Separated & Cleaned then I'd load it all up and haul it off OR if I only pick up one kind of metal that whole day then I'd just go a head and haul it in at the end of the day...

The heaters have good weight because of the oil in them. Otherwise no weight at all.

The scrap gods don't like it when you're picky Ben. It's when you go out for scrap steel you find the most PCS lol.
Those glass microwave plates go for about $15 on Ebay. Just write down the make and model on the plate with erasable marker and you're good to go.
Then spend $15 to ship and another $5 in eBay fees.. yup they sell, but you don’t make anything worth your time
@@Reasonist I drop them all off to a guy I know who does nothing but sell on Ebay. He pays the fees and ships. He keeps 65%, I get 35%. Works for me.
