Your lectures are really very helpful in understanding how to create schema, prepare request body with the required data,validate it and then post the data stored in the request body in the database of server and retrieve response in the json format in the client browser. in latest version of mongodb email is already a unique value so there is no need to write the condition of duplicate email

After learning scratch like html,css, JavaScript, and PHP from different TH-cam channels like Yahoo Baba, etc. Now finally landed on code with Harry, and learning react JS.. At 3:25 Actually there is no need to check weather the user is already there or not Since the email is unique we can send the response USER ALREADY EXIST instead of PLS TYPE A VALID EMAIL.
Both are different because
If u add a empty string in email then you got enter a valid email and if u enter the same e mail u got this email already exists so both are different for that reason he just take 2 error one in empty email and another one is if same email enter by the user

Unless you create indexes , email will be stored duplicate
it's showing me the error of "user already exists" but even if I send new request with same email it still gets added in the database
My comuter teacher is jealous from you. She just teaches theories..No practical at all......

why are we checking for duplicate emails if we already set the email property to be Unique in the User Schema ??? please i'm confused
How the end user will come to know the issue. console.log is for logging in a enterprise application.

In my mongodb compass there is no iNotebook database created as I have followed the same steps as harry bhai had done. So, for that help me for the database

i am unable to find the reason why the collection name is named as 'users'...

because we are creating a user authentication model, User is used for a model and user as a json for responses and pushing requests or u can say a variable for a particular user

But why are we writing logic to check whether the email is unique or not, when we have already mentioned that in the User schema and it is working fine.
yeah i was also thinking the same thing , but his logic of findOne helps to give an Error message that email is duplicate which was not there else wise
reason is that user should know why email is not getting added ,that's why we are writing logic for findOne method so that user can get a message about the situation

If user email is already exists, after sending error message, my app is crashing but in video it is not crashing

you should use the express validator, that way it will not crash. It was in the video prior to this one if I remember.

I didn't understand why I was getting null in console for user. can anyone help me with this. Your answer will be much appreciated :)
@Mohit Chouhan we are getting null in the console because we are doing console for the user which should have the matching email but when we write any new user it is completely new and not matching to any previous user this is why we are getting null in the console. but for the second time when you send the request for the same user you'll not get null again you'll get all the detail of repeating(matching user which is previously used) user. I hope, I did not make it complicated to understand.

at port 5000, it shows "Connection was refused by the server." How to resolve this issue?
did you try changing at thunder client POST url:
localhost:5000/api/auth/createuser
Run Mongod to lighten up your server.
Then try connecting using Express.
