I love you so much💕 I will go to any platform you decide to work on because I love you and your personality. Your the reason I started TH-cam and you have inspired me for 3 years. I hope you have an amazing time on twitch, you deserve it.
This honestly sounds like such a good idea!! I'll have to figure out twitch but I've been meaning to do that anyway.. this is just a push cause your you!!
I left the same comment on your 27 minute video, but I'll put it here too: Good luck with all of this!! You definitely have a butt load of people that are totally behind you no matter what!
I will go where you go. I don't care what platform or anything. You want to support the company you work for and that is completely understandable. We love you and we are happy that you are happy in making this decision.
Nice... you do you Aurey figure out what you need or want to do and go for it, I only ask one thing as a viewer and that's not to forget us youtube folk and only do twitch because not all of us are into twitch. If you can manage that then I'll stay subbed as long as you're active on the aureylian channel.
Hey Erin - first of all, I know what today is and I wanna just take a second to say, you've been in my thoughts today and I hope you're doing okay. I'm so sorry your anxiety's been peaking (I know how awful that is). I think you're fantastic, and as soon as I have the time I will totally go follow you on Twitch, because let's be real - you're WAY better than mediocre. You're awesome, you're badass, you're amazing, and I look up to you quite a lot. Hang in there - you got this. And we're behind you 100%.
"Hell yeah, I'm so excited. I subbed to this channel for Aureylian, not because of her mediocre and often shitty gameplay style, but because I like her as a person." - Minus the "mediocre and often shitty gameplay style" snippet, I agree. Personally, I think this move makes a lot of sense. And not only because you work at Twitch. TH-cam in general have not been treating their creators well. That's a fact, and I hate seeing so many gaming video creators continue to struggle through all the crap that TH-cam decides to pull. While I disagree with a fair few things Twitch has done (Bits, for example) competition is healthy and I will definitely continue watching your gameplay videos there. As it stands I have made a lot of friends thanks to watching streams and streaming myself, and value Twitch as a platform for gaming content. I very rarely unsubscribe from TH-cam channels, so I will remain subscribed to both even if you only post to the main channel - and I'll continue watching the videos you upload, regardless of where. A side thing I wanted to mention - I appreciate the length of the video on your main channel. I feel a lot of it needed to be explained to a lot of viewers on TH-cam that don't know of the struggles of creators on this platform. Many big TH-camrs have already moved most (if not all) of their streaming content to Twitch, and there's a reason for that. I'm glad there's finally competition in the gaming VoD space, it was sorely needed. Thanks for staying awesome, and thanks for being honest with your audience.
I don't see it as too big of a deal, although I suppose for someone who isn't used to Twitch it may be. But think of it this way, before she had 3 different locations for vlog videos, gaming vids & game steaming, now that is down to two. Gaming on Twitch, "behind the scenes" life stuff on TH-cam.
Well, for a lot of people, it's less about not being used to Twitch, it's about Twitch physically not working for a lot of people. People who don't have good internet, or that have certain graphics cards, etc have major issues with Twitch not work, either at all, or having videos stutter. This is because Twitch really doesn't compress the videos on their site, while TH-cam does, and thus it's far more intensive on peoples computers. Also note that not having good internet for many people isn't as easy as "buy better internet" many people simply live in places where internet isn't good, or can't afford better internet. Then you consider that Twitch's mobile site and app are not that good, at all, and like to not work as well, while mobile app for TH-cam tends to work good for playing the video at least.
+DreadKyller I've had pretty good luck with the twitch app on my phone and old tablet (where I watch most Twitch). I prefer that as I can have a stream running while I play a game on TV or while browsing internet on PC etc. I'm lucky that I live in an area that provides decent speed internet so I can play "source quality" fine usually. I'm acutely aware though, that if I wasn't lucky enough to live in an area with my Internet service, and if my area only had ADSL I would likely struggle to get 1/40 of the speed I currently enjoy. The "get better internet" comments are really short sighted, often it's your location that limits your connection, and lack of competition in the market certainly doesn't help matters. The twitch app may not be as refined as the TH-cam app, but most should have an easier time playing archived streams aka VODs. Playing back uploaded content or VODs of streams won't be as intensive as live streams (especially streams where "source" is the only option). I'm sure the new Twitch upload service, that Aureylian will be using, will have quality options like on VODs (from the "Mobile" setting up to "Source"). While I agree that TH-cam can currently reach more viewers, in terms of buffer free playback, I think that with Amazon now owning Twitch, things should improve. The move away from flash video to HTML5, that alone should improve the playback experience for many people.
DaveSimonH I hope so, Twitch's direction is promising, but at it's current state for the uploads I feel it may have been a bad choice in the short term at least for Aurey to do this, in the long term it'll probably be good, but I mean, Twitch has a VOD upload service now, and hasn't even added anything to their site that allows you to get a list of the channels you follow. Going to following gives you a list of channels that are currently live, but if you're going there to just watch the uploaded videos and the channel is offline it's a complete pain. basic stuff like that should have been done before this system as launched in my opinion. "Playing back uploaded content or VODs of streams won't be as intensive as live streams (especially streams where "source" is the only option)." eh, not quite true. When uploading, there is a limit to the bitrate you're able to use for your videos, and it's fairly low for streaming, while most uploaded videos are usually much higher bitrates. And people used to uploading to TH-cam tend to use really high bitrates because they know TH-cam will compress the videos and higher bitrate videos will retain higher quality through the compression. Twitch doesn't compress videos, so those videos stay at the same raw bitrate, which is usually far more than is needed for the quality, and that causes the main issues, is just the bitrate people use on videos.
You're right that the Twitch desktop interface does need some work, especially when trying to access followed channels that are offline. There really need to be a "Following hub" similar to TH-cam's Subs section, that shows all the people you are following whether they are offline or online at that time. Ironically the App which you said is "not that good" deals with it a lot better. Once in the Following tab (I think following should be first page that opens by default in app) you can see who is streaming currently under Activity. But click Channels and you see all followed streamers, online & offline, crucially you can see offline peoples past broadcasts, highlights etc and I imagine in future their uploaded videos. No jumping through hoops like on desktop. You say Twitch doesn't compress, but it has limits though in terms of what people can stream at. I doubt if someone uploaded to new service at say 20Mb/s that it would remain at that quality setting, even at "source". But say that were the case, while Source may not be an option, there is still compressed options in the form of High, Medium & Low (I'm not going to count "Mobile", at that point you may as well use "Audio Only"). *EDIT:* I'm looking at the Video upload guide page; help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/2577667-video-upload-guide Video upload requirements"Up to 10Mbps bitrate, Up to 1080p/60FPS" 1080/60 is probably beyond most, especially for mobile & older devices. But they are competing with TH-cam, and they know that, so there won't be a situation where X% can't even play the uploaded vids. There will likely be similar options to TH-cam (1080/60, 1080, 720/60, 720 etc).
"You say Twitch doesn't compress, but it has limits though in terms of what people can stream at." When you upload a video to Twitch, Twitch doesn't compress it any farther, it remains as the same compression as was uploaded. If a user streams or uploads compressed content, it will be compressed, however TH-cam compresses videos even further. And again, I'll state that the *streaming* maximum bitrate is far lower than the *video upload* max bitrate. The issue with the buffering is less on Twitch itself, and more on people who are uploading not understanding the limitations. People are used to TH-cam automatically compressing their videos, so they don't realize that Twitch doesn't do that and they need to compress it themselves first before uploading. Also, TH-cam supports 4K resolution at 60 fps, and supports 360 videos. Hopefully eventually twitch will support similar.
Erin, I hope you have only great times playing games on Twitch, my sister and I watched Outlast that night, scary game by the way, both of us liked the stream, I showed the Twitch for her and she got amazed watching someone playing Tomb Rider, she love that game. I hope you and Twitch FORGIVE ME...., I believe Twitch is not my place to be right now. Be happy, a lot success working and playing games there! Sorry about my English, is not so good yet, I wrote "good night" right on my entrance on the chat, I read somewhere that people get offended when this happen. SORRY! :(
Dude don't feel guilty about anything. I would sub to 50 different channels with 1 video each if it were of you because I like you for you no matter what channel or video service you use.
Wouldn't that cut out a stream of revenue from TH-cam? Unless twitch will pay people a separate amount for uploading videos than they do for streaming?
I love you so much💕 I will go to any platform you decide to work on because I love you and your personality. Your the reason I started TH-cam and you have inspired me for 3 years. I hope you have an amazing time on twitch, you deserve it.

Will unboxing videos be on the aureylian vlogging channel or on twitch?
Probably vlogging I think.
Erin, you need a hug.
It's strange how invested you can get in a person you'll never meet. :) I really hope it works out for you.
I will miss watching your game play, already missing your UHShe. Twitch won't work for me. I'll keep watching yoru vlogs :)
Obligatory 2020 comment. Hope you and Boo are doing well

Wouldn't that cut out a stream of revenue from TH-cam? Unless twitch will pay people a separate amount for uploading videos than they do for streaming?
