You should honestly get more medals for defense. My clan went about 1/1 in attacks used/attacks defended per raid, we got like 190 medals for attacking and 11 for defense. There is just about 0 reason to upgrade defenses other than to make it harder for other people to get further in the game with their raid medals since the defense payout is so little.
Finally someone that doesnt show you what to build, but how and why you should build. I love videos like these, please keep up the quality work. Thank you Jaso
I never did any base designs in my life and left coc until the introduction of clan capital
Interested by that I went ahead to see a few attacks in raid and much more
Due to being loyal to my clan, my clan was loyal to me and kept me co leader for about 5 months when I was off(the clan itself wasn't dead, it was decently active)
I saw attacks of clan capitals analysed how important the placement of clan houses are so I designed a base in which if archers try to clear all clan houses they would continuously get attracted to clan capital near defenses killing her, forcing the player to use more troops and exhaust more attacks while at the same time making sure wizards do not destroy my base in the process through chain attacks
I had an another trick, which didn't allow troops to enter base without clearing out clan houses on outside range(about 15 of em), but they were arranged in such a manner that after clearing each house, troops entered in the base through the specific area I decided for them, eventually killing them before attacking further. This was an effective trick, you can try it too

@@i_never_had_a_burger I have done same thing as you guys I think. Made eight different funnels towards the clan capital using the clan houses so you can't just drop a few archers and get everything! Seems to work half-decently, but I reckon I'll switch the base to something like the one shown in the video where circling the base is completely blocked off when we unlock a couple more buildings.

sadly they updated the battle ram AI and now they destroy those side spawn walls. This basically makes maze bases obsolete.

The maze didn't work, the battle ram still manages to ram through the wall to the sides creating a bigger spawn area.

I think they made an emergency update because the maze become really popular
no, battle rams will target walls if there is any non-accessible area behind it. so imagine this, if there is 6 pieces of walls in a straight line, one end is connected to either a wall line to enclose the other side or edge of the base and the other side open, the battle ram would not prioritize going for that wall. if we put a building behind and extend the wall, either continue the straight line of walls (so horizontally, x axis)
or go upwards or downwards (so on the y axis), the battle ram will find the path is too long and go for the wall. it also depends how far you have placed the battle ram, they prefer to go towards single layer walls rather than double or more. an example i can give is defeating the stock layout barbarian camp at lv 1-2
-one barbarian to the very left to clear the 2 thatched huts
-put battle rams next to the double wall section
-have a clean breakthrough and annihilate the base in 2 attacks
the important part is, without the barbarian clearing out those 2 huts, the battle ram will always choose the middle single line, not very ideal.

i used super tight clan capital base and two layer walls before we and the enemy unlock super wizard but once i watched the replays on defense the value of super wizard is electrifyingly high and made a two gap buildings

I always only used 3 attacks and i would sweep an intire clan by my self with my 3 to 4 acc easy but a week ago i met a capital peak that took 7 atatcks it was a little higher lvl fhen us sense we didnt really upgraded our army camps and stuff yet but damn it was a piece of work im kinda impressed from them
