I love this! Just recently stumbled on Archibald Joyce's waltzes. Not sure why it took me so long!!

I sometimes listen this waltz in your performance again and I think your Remembrance is the best one on whole TH-cam (despite that you can count all the performances by your fingers). Could you tell where did you found this relic?

Only just discovered Archibald Joyce now... This piece and songe d'automne are both truly beautiful, however, this piece in particular resonates with me, and your rendition is the best piano version I have heard so far! Thank you for this. :)

Unfortunately, they removed the feature to message youtube creators directly, but I would absolutely love the sheet music if possible! Absolutely dying to learn this and can't find it anywhere. Cheers!

Thank you Dr Chiu; my father would have appreciated this very, very much. I didn't realise you were so musical; another thing you had in common with him - although his type of music was 60s rock :) It's so nice that you're showcasing piano works from outside the mainstream repertoire.

Thank you Deepa. Your father and I realised the importance of having pastimes that help us relieve the stress and rigors of trauma surgery. For me I collect rare scores, and I use this channel to try to revive some of these forgotten music and make the scores available to people who want them. This is a sad waltz with a very beautiful middle section. Even amidst sadness, the memory of a loved one is beautiful. My eulogy to him was not sad because I knew he would want us to remember him as a happy and fun loving man.

Hello, I've always loved this piece from Joyce. A sadly underrated composer, in my opinion. Your interpretation is wonderful, and I would consider it the best recording out there. I wish I had found your channel sooner! I'm surprised that with the quality and quantity of their music, many composers of the Edwardian Era no longer have the recognition they deserve. At least we have people like you keeping their memory alive.
Could you send me the music for this one as well?
I also had a question. I heard that Felix Godin wrote a waltz for every month of the year, though I can't find any record of those works even existing, besides that rumor of course. I have only found a few of these "month waltzes" so far. Do you have any recordings or files pertaining to these? It's so odd for something so grand to disappear when anything can be recorded and categorized on the internet.

I think this waltz even more sad and dark than "Songe d'automne". One of my favorite waltzes, exactly in your performance! As always, great work! I wonder how do you get all this music? I'd been trying to find some of these waltzes' notes, but with no result. Here just aren't any of these notes, in my internet! Could you send me these ones, please? E-mail - tom.po4ta@yandex.ru . P.S. The "Ultimo beijo" waltz some why can't be uploaded (it says that the file is unsafe) and displays only the first page. Could you help me with it?

I am a collector. I literally scour the world for rare scores. I will look into the problem with the abreu score.

Thank you very much! Beautifully played. I don't know what is your source but as far as my research goes this waltz was published few years earlier than 1914 I believe.
Would you consider playing some selections from Titanic's orchestra repertoire? You have already done that, some of your recordings are also from the repertoire, but it includes something like 350 numbers, a good assortment. The full list can be found here: www.statekmarzen.fora.pl/titanic-ogolnie,3/white-star-line-music,578.html It is not known for sure that this is songlist of Titanic's two bands but it certainly is circa 1912 music repertoire played on White Star Line ships. It would be great to hear especially many forgotten waltzes from there and medleys of melodies from such a wide assortment of operas and musicals. Just a proposition.

Very good proposition. The idea of playing through the music of the waltz kings came from you I believe when you suggested Joyce. I guess I've posted some of the music in the titanic repertoire. I could make a playlist of the music from this repertoire. The challenge of playing through the titanic list is actually finding the printed music for many of the pieces which have been forgotten.

You are right about the date. Wikipedia puts the date of publication of Remembrance as 1914. However, the Titanic sank in 1912, and this waltz was documented as being part of the repertoire on the ill-fated ship. My score of this waltz says the date of publication is 1909 by Ascherberg, the main publisher of Joyce, and who labelled him as the English Waltz King. So I guess that is the correct date.
