I love that Iva Davies shares the vocals with Michael - Iva wrote all the songs and can play loads of instruments. I love Icehouse so much and Michael Paynter is a great addition to the band. Love his vocals. He sings a lot of the women's parts in songs - he's got a great range.
I saw him sing with Icehouse live at the Big Red Bash in the Simpson Desert last year and you could feel the shudder go through the entire crowd. I still get tingles hearing this 💕
Icehouse is an Aussie band that had quite a few hits in the 80-90's and Michael Paynter (with the killer vocals) has been featuring on stage with them lately. Interestingly, the dude playing the soprano sax is the original singer/songwriter/band leader Ivor Davies who obviously loves this young talent singing his songs.
Iva (not Ivor) was playing an Oboe, not a Soprano Saxophone. They are both different instruments, with the Oboe being even more difficult to play properly.

Saw this live in Bendigo Australia on the 19th January in a sold out show. Last saw them live In 1984 when I was 23. They were just as damn good recently as they were in 84. Made me feel young again, so good!!

The artist in the video was Iva's father; Neville Davies. Iva has a more passionate voice, he puts more feeling into this song. Michael might be good at Opera.
