Not so fun fact about this song, the night Eminem recorded the original demo for this song, in 1997, before he met Dre and got signed, he attempted suicide. He apparently had meant for this song to be his suicide note

After couple of songs you have changed your mind and that’s good ,,
You can realize greatness easily when listening to Eminem,
You still have a lot of things to learn about Em and a lot of songs to hear ,, his music gets better and better and every time you will discover new bars in the same song that you didn’t catch before !
I recommend ( going through changes ) ( be careful what you wish for ) ( castle & Arose) (space bound)

Rap and hip hop went through a big transformation 20 years ago. In the old days, you had groups like De La Soul, Fugees, Tribe Called Quest, all making beautiful songs and telling stories with their music. Then Gangsta Rap became popular, but still, you had street poets telling you stories to a beat. Tupac was great at this. There was a message and emotion in his rap. What the "next generation" of rappers brought was yelling, bling, booty poppin, club music. Ying Yang Twins, Lil Jon, 6ix9ine.
Most OG's and lyricists can't stand the new generation stuff. Nas called it back in 2006 when he said, "Hip Hop is dead." If you want to listen to rap with substance, a message, and feeling, go back and listen to everything before 2000.

Your honesty is so amazingly refreshing! I really am happy for you to have begun to appreciate lyrical rap. There is truly no better storyteller than Em in my opinion. Joyner Lucas and Royce da 5'9 are amazing too. Still really need to listen to Mockingbird and When I'm Gone and Castle/Arose. Love your reactions hon!

  • @jangalexisruiz7491

That feeling when songs sound hollow and there's nothing to them.. that's how hip hop fans who grew up on Tupac Nas Eminem Common and DMX feel when listening to current mainstream hip hop. Guys like Joyner Lucas, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Logic are producing deep meaningful music, so If you get the chance you should check out their work.

both types are needed but for me lyrical rappers are a must and are the higher level once you get drawn to lyrics you don't get impressed with artists with no lyrical content it's just not enough to have a good beat at least that's how i feel is an em fan and a lyrical rap fan in general
