I drive my M3LR in chill mode all the time except for demos. It gives smoother launches from a stop and better mileage. Standard still gives adequate acceleration for nearly all driving IMO.
I have not been on TH-cam in a while and, when logging on, TH-cam showed me your video ! 😀 You STILL have the most educational / interesting / enjoyable Tesla videos, in my opinion! I always learn something from you. 😀 I learned I still prefer the Model 3 because I do not want a hatchback vehicle.
I am glad to see that I am not the only one that does not care for FSD. I love driving, especially my Y LR. I have now driven it for over 1 year including during heavy snow and super cold weather. I will be the last guy to get FSD and Tesla will have to force me to take it on :-) I love my Tesla Y and can't wait for my Cybertruck to show up one day. I bought the Y LR as my training vehicle for the Cybertruck. I have even managed to convince my wife that electric vehicles are great, especially on long road trips.
I recently got a Model 3 and honestly basic autopilot is way more than enough for heavy traffic and highway travel FSD for me at this point is not worth using nor having it’s more of a gimmick for me. Plus that $15k price tag does not justify it just yet. I much rather have control over how it drives.
I just picked up a 23 MYLR about 2 days ago. As I get to know the car (my first EV), I chose Chill and Comfort steering. With Hold breaking. My wife wants standard and roll. Are those settings tied to profile?
@@Agg1E91 Yeah I’m pretty sure they are, when I switch between me and my gf all the settings change from the screen to the steering windows and seating.
I think it’s only Shanghai RWD built with LFP. I just picked up my 2023 RWD Y here in Australia and it’s the 60kWh LFP from CATL. The 2021 Model 3 SR+ I traded in had the 55kWh LFP. I have zero regrets.
@@4literv6 Thanks. Yes your right and I should have been clearer with what I was saying. I was just talking US market. They don’t get RWD MY so no LFP packs over there for MY unless your in Canada. I read that Berlin has stopped production of the RWD with BYD structural pack as they don’t have approval for the different motors and battery. I’d say that will be up and running again asap. I can’t vouch for that myself as I don’t live in Europe. For US, they won’t see Berlin made MY with BYD pack.
Due to cost issues, I had to "settle" for a Model 3LR last year. I really wanted the Y, for the hatchback, and for the extra clearance, when snow clogs my driveway. I'm hoping that current pricing on the YLR remains stable, or even drops in early 2024, because I want to take advantage of the $7500 tax break off the top, and upgrade. I do love the Model 3. It's the first car I've ever owned, in more than 40 years, that doesn't have a clutch pedal, and I'm actually ok with that. I always hated having to drive an ICE car with an automatic transmission.
maybe the future model 2/z will be a thing for you. Rumors say is a mini model y, and that will be great for me as well. I dislike model 3 sedan body. i need a hatchback, but model y is too big. I don't get why they made the stupid mini trunk instead of a proper hatch. With the size of model 3 quarter panel it wasn't justified to make it a separate trunk and instead a proper hatch opening.
To answer your comment, there are no Model Ys that were built with LFP batteries. Originally only the standard range Model 3 uses LFP batteries. I believe the long range model 3's now also uses LFP but there are no Model Y's with LFP batteries

@@l3arney Enjoy your Model 3! Welcome to the @Tesla family! I have heard of the Lucid Sapphire, and saw a couple videos of its amazing 0-60 performance as well! I recently got to see a Lucid Air in person, and it looks like they're going through some of the same growing pains that Tesla went through in their early days. The car had some issues, but I am sure Lucid will iron those out with experience; just as Tesla did. The cars continue to come down in price, so hopefully you'll be in that Long Range you've been wanting soon enough!

Model 3LR right here too and I drive in chill mode 99% of the time unless I need that extra torque and power to beat someone off the line

I believe the lfp is only on the model 3, the old model y sr was lfp, the new one is 4680
I have the original MY SR, it's not lfp

@@notinthemanual gigahai and gigalin both use lfp for the base model y. Shanghai is the catl lfp cells, byd supplies the gigalin cells.

I drive a ‘20 model 3. We rented a 2022 Model Y while on vacay in Orlando a few months ago and I loved it. Definitely my next car, if not the CT.
