I feel like I should sit on the floor with my legs crossed in front of me as I look up at Mr Pandy and listen to his story. I love story time with Mr Pandy.
I enjoy watching your videos very much. You get right down to the point and have a lot of good info to share. I'm in NJ too, and also in Hunterdon County. I like the way you illustrate the ups and downs of farming life. Sadly, the number of working farms in our area has drastically decreased since when I was young child. I remember Flemington being comprised of one farm after another. Not so much any more. I like your story time videos. Please keep making them as you see fit. Take care. Maybe I'll bump into you around HC. I'll recognize the hat!
Happy to say that the community that I live in here in Canada is not like that at all. We truly are blessed here. Love the stories, Wes!! Keep them coming!!
I'm glad to say it is quite good where I live. Had a flat on the road recently with a bale trailer and a few people stopped to ask if I was alright. The local farmers all get along, we borrow their equipment sometimes, and they borrow our tractors from time to time. My brother's mate always comes to the farm to give a helping hand, he's quite busy yet he enjoys working so he helps out for free.
100% correct thats why some old poor people without family don't get discovered passed away for months is disgusting because there neighbours dont give 2 sh!ts to try with people..The worlds changed and people have become selfish..Its a strange time.
I do agree with people not caring about others today as much. But there still are good people out there that do care about others. Look at all the people who run in marathons to help people who suffer from cancer or whatever.
Sad but true you totally hit the nail on the head ! Society is full of people that have no compassion for those in need but fall over themselves at the site of the almighty dollar !!
Wes I live south of San Antonio Texas and have for over forty years I use to know most of the locals but we now have so many people moving in it makes me sick but as long as I have been driving I wave at people on the road fast forward to 2010 and I bought my first jeep and wave all the time within the last two months I bought a 1999 F-250 and I wave at everyone I see I was stopped at our mail box the other day and a guy pulled up ask why I waved at him I replied just being friendly he was shocked by my response I always stop to help people broke down or walking out here because I’ve been there before so I feel be friendly and it will come back to you. MORE STORY TIME WITH OLF PLEASE I LOVED THAT STORY. GOD bless and be safe David
great reflective thoughts on the present state of human interaction. I also agree life was better served before Cell Phones and other distractions to everyday existence among others.
I was camping and visiting my brothers girl friends family in upstate New York in a small town/village. The was people are there compares nothing to my town in connecticut. Everyone waves to you, even the people who have never met you and everyone will joke and talk to you. It's amazing to see the difference in personalities within 80 miles.
True so true. U.S. stuck up society is going to shit in a hand basket because of no morals and values. But yet people like us love and take pride in our country and helping others. Its sad but GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
Great story Wes. Times were sure better back in the day. Our farm had a party line phone- rotary handset of course. Remember that setup? All the farms in our area shared the same line & we would have to take turns. You know - for some reason Wes there are more freaks today. Lots of weirdos & people just itching to make accusations or sue. It's definitely a hateful place nowadays.
Here in Chile everyone hitch hikes. Everyone! It is that safe here! There are people that you would not want to pick up and you have to use your judgment, but you see hitch hikers all over this country. Even on the interstate. It is not as common in the big cities but that would make sense, but out side the big cities you see hitch hikers. I have seen mothers with little 2 yr old children hitch hike. 85 year old retired people and ladies and college and high school kids and elementary school kids. I gave 3 boys a ride that had to be all of 10 years old. Chile is still like the 1950s. It is that safe.
Im down in south jersey and i have to agree everyone is so dam stuck up and keeps to themselves. I have a landscaping business and one of my accounts is to keep a neighborhood entrance maintained. Ill wave to people as they drive by and maybe 1 out of 20 will wave back. More stories!
One time I was standing by the opening of my school and there was a lady (she was about 63) who was going to make lunch for the school (small school only 175 kids). She was bringing in food and such and so I offered to help her bring it in. She accepted my offer and so I was bringing stuff in and she fell. There were a couple of kids and adults when it happened. When she fell I was the only one to help her get up nobody even bothered to bat an eye! It is crazy nobody seems to care any more. I live in a small town and if someone is in need, you help them out because one day they are probably going to help you out.
Hey that's what live should be about, helping others and passing on good thoughts and stories. Most people only want to relate bad shit and seem to revel in others misfortunes. Keep up the great vids and good luck to you and yours.
The word community is lost these day's, it's more of population too busy with there day to day life, to give a crap about anyone else's problem's or spare a minute of there life to help, is asking that bit too much. Also possibly the state of any country and the crazy people that reside there deter friendly people from helping others from fear of possibility. I don't count groups that organize events for causes etc, only on individual merit. Brian & Boo In a rather wet south east England a few miles from Dunmow.
Glad I live in MN. I had a ladder incident just last week. Being a younger guy and not that high up I figured when I was done with my work I could just jump. Well, the neighbor was over to put the ladder back up before I even finished my project.
I will still try to help a neighbor out, do it for a handshake. Nice that your father was able to be there at the right time. The elder and our generation, we still care. All we can do is to try to pass this sentimentality on to the next generation. That maybe the will learn something from us. Do what you do Wes, whether it be stories or repairs. It is all good to hear.
Stopped to help a couple in the land of Fruits and Nuts ... they thought I was AAA. Moved to Arkansas and now I'm concerned about carpal tunnel ... wave on.
I live in a rural county where if you meet a pickup (not called a truck where I live) its pretty much required that you give them a wave of some sorts. We have watch their kids playing sports in school and even if its 50 miles apart it just out of respect. Doesn't take much effort to lift a finger and say hi.
Sad but so true. We're fortunate on our 1/4 mile dead end road to know everyone living here. The kids I grew up with are all neighbors and we take care of each other pretty well, BUt it is the exception, not the rule. Most folks are blind stupid to their neighbors unless it's to bitch. Love the story
Bring the stories, it's all good... Thought you were going to say they came out screamin and hollerin, thinking you were trying to kill em..... Yeah, in the late 90's, I went down a couple times on a small motorcycle, not a soul paused to see if I was even conscious, laying next to the bike, laying on the side of the road.... I stop if I see something happen, but most of the time, emergency services are there. A lot of what has killed the assistance is the lawsuits, against those trying to help. The internet has made us a lot more private in our interactions, sure you tell everyone how your bathroom use resulted, but you don't want to actually see anyone. The desire not to take responsibility is what is endangering us all.....

One day the kids and I went somewhere and my wife got up in the attic of my shed to get the Christmas stuff down. Well she kicked over the ladder getting up there and was there for hours waiting for us to get home.
About 2 years back we were going through an industrial area that has train tracks. The track crew was there rebuilding the tracks and redoing ties etc. While we were driving by I saw someone waving from behind a pile of ties and barely made out him yelling help. We were able to stop and came over to see what was wrong. some of the ties had fallen on they guys leg pining him to a point he couldn't get up and pull them off. Luckly the guy was ok but he had been there for an hour or so and we were the only ones that had stopped to help him. He would have been eventually found but his coworkers were about a half mile away working on the track.
I love story time by olf your saying what's on everybody's mind last winter a guy up the street from me got stuck plowing I drove my tractor up chained up to him and yanked him out he said to me I can't believe you did that and I didn't have to ask you I said do to others as you would do unto yourself to bad more people aren't like that world would be a much better place
I CLAIM B.S. They would stop.. but to take an I-phone video of him stuck up there and eventually passing out and falling off the roof, then rush home to upload it onto youtube. I swear that most peoples situational awareness does not extend beyond the perimeter of their car anymore.
yes we do. we would like to here more, and up dates on ethers, like hows the cow and what you doing with the cat and more on the barn..like you turning any thing ? and I know its not the right time of year for the saw but is it steel on the farm ? and you may not have two of everthing but I think it look like you are getting one of ever deere...lolllllllllllll. I steel thank you for all you do lets us all see of your life, and thank you for poting up with this old mans not righting words right.
I have a rental car right now (2013 sonata) and I was at walmart the other day and it was about 930 at night so it was dark, but obviously plenty of light in the parking lot. The highbeams on this car are just about worthless. I don't know if somebody adjusted them before (don't think so now, after looking). I had my flashlight with me so I opened the hood to see if I could adjust the highbeam headlights a tad bit. The car was running with the headlights on. A guy stopped and asked me if I needed anything, and I explained what I was doing and all was good. I don't know if it's because we were about the same age or if I just really looked like I needed help lol. I'm 23 and he was probably 20 or 21. Now, I'm a guy too so it's not like he was doing it because I was a hot girl or something. This is in a town (pop. 7500) in northwest pennsylvania.
I agree. But I actully helped a old man last summer when he tryed to fuel up his car at a fuel station and he didnt get any fuel out of that station. Cus that thing had some kinda issue and he didnt understand why it didnt work how it used to. So I showd him how to do it. He was abit sceard to first cus it happens to many old ppl that they get robbed by young guys so he backed off a bit I walked slowley to him and asked him if I could show him. And I helped him and he was happy. I allways feel better when I know I have helped someone :)
Where I live if someone is broke down you will see 2 vehicles pulled over to help. Had a Lady from California moved nearby say that she has never seen so many people wave at people they don't even know. lol I told her welcome to the south.
I hear ya! It's the same way down here.. You could be laying dead on the road an people will stop an video it but no no they won't help ya that'd kill 'em!
I feel like I should sit on the floor with my legs crossed in front of me as I look up at Mr Pandy and listen to his story.

In the past, I have spent many hours on a tractor and it does often get boring. What a great idea to tell stories to pass the time.

You're a nice guy Wes. Love your stories and i would have picked you up. :o)
Yes, story time is cool. Great videos
story time is really cool, keep on like that...
I could not agree with you more, being pleasant and courteous to others has disappeared from society in general, You will surely have noticed how people will no longer look in the eye when moving about or even sitting down in public, it is though they live in their own little world texting on their fancy mobile phone.
I was following someone along a street today and they walked slap bang into a piece of street furniture whilst texting, I just smiled but nearly burst out laughing!
It is sad the way people don't trust but it has been that way since mankind began but a lot worse now. I give everyone I see a smile. Some of their expressions change like "wonder what the hell she wants from me?"
its not that way in southern Indiana. we do watch out for our neighbors.

I've got a neighbor that i've been waving to for 10 years, I can count on TWO fingers how many times he has waved back :)
you are so right! but you know its not that way as you go out to the mid west or further south.
About 2 years back we were going through an industrial area that has train tracks. The track crew was there rebuilding the tracks and redoing ties etc. While we were driving by I saw someone waving from behind a pile of ties and barely made out him yelling help.
Can you make a video when you show us your shop en all the machinery you got?
Where I live if someone is broke down you will see 2 vehicles pulled over to help. Had a Lady from California moved nearby say that she has never seen so many people wave at people they don't even know. lol I told her welcome to the south.
make a viedo of you cutting down trees and cuting up firewood
Amen
More story time for sure!
