    You’ve inspired me to get back into guppies. I’ve set up 4 breeding tanks in the house and doing a 100gal pond outside once this cold weather passes. It’s a project I’m doing with the kids and they get to keep any profits from selling locally and to 2 fish stores. Thanks for everything!

    Light over the pond, attract a lil extra tender and delicious smorgasborg of bugs.

    I had some feeder guppies last year in a bucket, just to see what happens. They seemed to breed just fine, I rarely fed them. Now I have a 27 gallon hdx tote pond. I feed them once a day, and scoop from the green water and the mosquito cultures to get different size live foods.
    The mosquito cultures thing... Just be prepared to start over. It would work better if I used bee keeper net to only allow mosuitoes access every few days. Dumping one before restarting, and feeding out of a second.

    Took your advice Michael and put a heater out in our first UK pond of the year, all going well for the past 2 weeks with about 600 Staeck endlers in there, babies everywhere today :)
    P.S have you ever considered doing a tub just for daphnia? We do this and they survive the UK winter and give us a really good amount of live food daily for the fish room, we use rainwater and they just explode! Thanks again Michael for the tip!

    Great video Michael. I always enjoy watching on Sunday morning with a cup of coffee. Working on a mutt guppy 100 gallon. I started out with guppies as a kid and you helped me rekindle my love for them! I'm thinking of adding Endlers to it but have heard that if the fancies bred with endlers, fry will be endlers and not a mix. Your thoughts as I don't personally know anyone that has done this.

    • @MichaelsFishRoom
      @MichaelsFishRoom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They will be a mix.

    • @Aquadiction
      @Aquadiction 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With the guppy/endler mix, you will find the hybrids have a lot less colour in the tails than if you just stuck with mixed guppies, our experience anyway. A mixed pond of different strains of endlers would be interesting, don't think I've ever seen someone do that yet?

      @@Aquadiction thanks for the input. I may have to try both ideas in separate tanks. I just subscribed to your channel and see that you have a video on this. Be well.

      I'm doing this.... adding 4 endler males to an outdoor pond full of excess blue Moscow females as an experiment because i had them. Snakeskin yellow, Japan blue, and 2 black bar double sword.... they're all likely hybrid. It's been so cold here, not willing to take them from heated tank to pond yet, we're overdue for less spring like weather!!!

    Could you maybe do a small information thing about glass.. like I know my biggest.... tank has had new kit on the corners. 450L by the way.. and the thought the kit will be worn and starts leaking gives me the shiffers. Maybe you have tips on when to renew the whole thing or better to save for a new tank 🤪
